Hello, ladies!

First of all, I''m so glad to have found this board! I''ve been lurking for a few days now, and it''s good to know that I''m not the only girl who''s been obsessing over not being engaged yet. Most of my friends are either still single, or have headed down the aisle already, so it''s hard to talk to them about how I feel about this subject without getting the standard, "good things come to those who wait", or, "it''ll happen sometime (soon), don''t worry about it"..

A Reader''s Digest version of mine, and FFI''s relationship: Started talking online September ''00, met in January of ''01, and have been dating ever since. We''ve lived together since ''02, and we also have a daughter who just turned 4 last month. Oh, I should also mention we''re planning on TTC baby #2 by the end of the year, as well, so I''m hoping a proposal comes before then.. or else.. well, I''ll cry, and probably throw a hissy fit, lol.

Hello all!

It''s so interesting how everyone has a different story and yet we all share the common excitement and anxious tension of waiting for our boyfriends to pop the question. I''m new to the forum, so it''s great to see that there are other ladies in a similar boat.

My boyfriend and I have been together for over a year and a half, but marriage is something we''ve been talking about since we met two years ago. We knew we wouldn''t enter into a relationship unless we were willing to view the longterm as a possibility for us. He just bought a house in May (we are not living together and will not until marriage) and has been hinting about saving up for a ring. We''ve talked about getting married next October, but he''s concerned about the economy. I work as a youth minister and have college loans I''m paying off, so I don''t save a great deal, and he is an engineer (getting paid well), but he wants to be able to provide for everything (a nice ring, classy wedding, honeymoon in Ireland, etc.). I would prefer to have a more simple wedding and a less expensive ring than have to wait another year for us to save up for everything. It''s not fair that he put this much pressure on himself.

For those of us who are waiting, how do I relax and enjoy the time with him without showing the sheer hope of marriage? I am so bad at hiding what''s on my mind, and I cannot stop thinking about how much I love him and want to share forever with him.

Hello! I hardly ever post, but I love this place. Everyone is so nice and people get engaged EVERY week! I love this place more than my soaps!

CNYHopeful, I usually tell my BF (who is ALSO an engineer!), "I just want to be with you forever, ok? Thanks!" and he says it back and that''s that.

But I don''t like it that he''s taking his sweet (in my view) time about all this....so I wait along with everyone else here and turn a slight shade of green when everyone has such pretty rings from their good boyfriends. BTW, Shiny is MY favorite color, so I can''t wait to have a shiny ring to show everyone!

And also: I <3 Nerds...
