Thanks all! Kenny, as far as I can tell, you're the resident Boone rings + stepcut guy, so I was hoping you'd approve.

I more than approve.

I would allow you to buy one for me. :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

Ha ha, how generous of you. I'm thinking something like this would look pretty cool with an FCD in it...maybe a blue. :naughty:

Seeing your ring is making me think I need a larger stone fore my husband! 8)

Mine's only .55, and I haven't found myself thinking it's especially small...I probably wouldn't go much over .75, at least not in this setting (and certainly not while my wife-to-be is only wearing a carat ;) ). If I remember correctly, your's is a .35ish round? I'd suspect the spread isn't terribly smaller than mine, I'm sure he'll love it. Then again, if you're just looking for an excuse to shop for another stone, don't let me be the fly in the ointment.

You guys have me shopping Boone Rings for my Wedding ring. I am looking at an inlay of metorite or possibly the silver carbon fiber, but in either case you all have me basically sold on his rings.

It's a beauty!

Oh I love this! I have to say, I don't see many mens rings that I like, but this one is really great. Love it! :appl:

This is absolutely unique~!!

Affguy, my fiance really really likes your ring!

Does anyone know if we can turn his plain gold band into a tension setting? haha...seriously?

Yeah? Cool! 8-) And I think that would probably depend on a couple things, most importantly the thickness of the ring...if it doesn't sit high enough off his finger, there's nowhere for a stone to fit. Also the alloy, as I suspect it's possible (I don't know) that some might be too soft. I've seen some flat-style rings that look like they could accomodate a baguette, but I have no clue whether it's actually possible to add one after the fact.

First, I have to comment on Bruce Boone’s service. I’d read posts on here dating back to 2004 (when internet retailing was somewhat different than it is today) praising Bruce’s attention to his customers and unbelievable speed. Early on, he sent me 3 sample rings to take a look at, for nothing more than the cost of shipping (less than 10 bucks if I remember correctly). Over the course of getting this order completed, he responded to me by email a total of 13 times. 12 of those were in less than an hour, and the average was 16 minutes. The time of day when I sent my emails and he sent his responses varied from 7 AM to midnight, and all my questions were answered each time. I do have to admit, there was one time when he made me wait over 6 hours, presumably due to bypass surgery, or a wedding anniversary, or some such emergency. :-D I shipped my stone out to Bruce, via first class mail last Friday afternoon. With us on opposite coasts, I figured it would reach him mid week, he’d spend a couple days building it, and with any luck I might have the ring in hand by the end of next week. You can imagine my surprise when I got an email from him Wednesday saying my ring was done and had been sent out…it arrived here about an hour shy of a week after I mailed the stone.

Bottom line – I do a lot of online shopping, and have for awhile now. My first big ticket online purchase was probably 1996ish, and since then, I have never experienced service this fast, personal, and attentive from any online merchant of any sort. Incredibly well done.

Next up, the goods. The stone is .55 ct, F, IF, very good pol/sym, 63% table, 66.5% depth, 5.81x3.99x2.65. The setting is Bruce Boone's Tension Squared titanium ring, 6 mm wide with a 2 mm palladium inlay, polished finish."

I love love love your ring and hope you wear it in good health affguy! I was also taken by your write-up on Bruce Boone's service. What a wonderfully written testament. Thank you so much for sharing. :)

I LOVE it!!!!!

Just thought I'd post an updated photo now that this ring has seen some wear & tear. I'm not real good about taking it off except when facing tasks that will surely cause me trouble later like painting, so the ring kept getting scratches in it from yardwork, replacing an engine, etc. Realizing that polishing it was a losing proposition, I finally took a green scrubbing sponge of matte finish to it and happily moved on with more "worn" look, now with less maintenance! :P

I'm not typically a fan of men in jewelry, but I had to comment to let you know how much I love your ring. It's gorgeous, but still looks "manly" to me. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your new ring :))

Thank you very much for the update. I really like seeing how people's jewels hold up to everyday wear. Wonderful ring!

Verrrry stylish.. me likey  I particularly like the offset aspect of the stone. Very cool. Great to see it being 'worn in' and how that transpires - thanks!

Awesome!!
