New milgrain bezel studs from IDJ

So, I'm not sure about these. I had emailed IDJ looking for some studs that would fit into my jackets and get rid of the airline. I wanted bezel set too. The earrings are beautiful but they are still too small for the jackets and have an airline. So while they delivered on finding (uncerted) beautiful well cut stones and setting them fairly well (this is not BGD quality by any means as the settings are a bit off round in places) they are not exactly what I wanted. So I probably won't wear them with the jackets since the airline looks uneven since the earrings kind of droop in the jackets. I might end up listing them for sale and just putting the money towards upgrading my 0.80 studs to 1.00 studs to get rid of the airline. They are very pretty though! They are IDJ uncerted stones. 0.64 ctw FG SI clarity. And the price was great. I just thought that they would have fit in the jackets better since that is what I wanted and I got them from the vendor that makes the jackets. Ah well. Here they are!

This is what I mean by uneven airline. It looks even more odd on the ear. So opinions? Keep and wear alone or list for sale?

Hmmm- I'm curious. Can you tell what is causing the droop? Is the little hole the earring post slides through too large and so it moves around?

I'd just call Yekutiel and speak with him. He is usually very easy to work with and wants happy customers. I'm sure I'll work with you to make you happy (whatever solution that is)....

I would definitely give Yekutiel a call - he is sooo willing to make it right!! Just let him know and he will do his best to resolve any situation. Were the diamonds off round by any chance? was the girdle a bit wonky? maybe that can't be anything BUT what you see, if that's the case.... But worth the TC just to chat with him about it.

Otherwise, can you return them - are you within the return window period?

They do look lovely but I see what you mean and if an airline would bug you --- nothing will make it "UN BUG" you other than getting them fixed or returned!

These were not certed stones so I don't know if there is a return policy and I don't know if they were off round or not. But I specifically started the conversation with Luann expressing my interest to have these earrings made to fit the jackets with no airline. I just got them Friday so I should be within a return policy if there is one. They are super pretty they just don't work for my intended purpose.

Great! Luann is a sweetie and she'll run it by Yekutiel or his father so you'll get an answer soon! I hope its something they can just adjust quickly for you. I know they have the jackets but maybe when you return the studs, send them back with YOUR jackets and they can be absolutely 100% certain any revisions fit them like a glove. (or a jacket!! )

I just wanted to say...... I took my diamond studs in with me to find out why the darned things never sat right in my old round jackets from Fortunoff, and to order new cushion shaped diamond jackets. Yekutiel's Dad Israel looked at my studs and told me they were set way too high, to leave my studs with them and their setter would reset them for me. I took his word for the fact that they could fix my problem and my studs would look nice and sit right and evenly in both pairs of jackets. Three weeks later? Viola! Perfectly set studs and two usable pairs of earrings jackets. I wish I had brought them in sooner because now I have options- round jackets or cushion jackets. They can do anything Jax. Just describe the problem to them and I'm sure they'll find a way to make them sit correctly. They can even give you a slightly wider bezel so your airline is not so big, if that bothers you. I know when I spoke to Julia (Y's Mom) about her DBTY necklace, I mentioned that I didn't like thin bezels and she said no problem, they have thicker bezels too. I'm thinking you'd have that option with earring mountings too.

Not sure what you decided, but sending the jackets in sounds like a good idea so you can be sure there is no airline. The earrings do look nice with the bezel settings.
