New red spinel - pics at last!

Hello All,

I finally have in my hot little hand my red spinel.

(It's been on layby for 6 months)

I am hoping to set it in an Art Deco style. Any suggestions would be welcome! I wear yellow gold and have a very petite ring size (4).

Stats:
Roughly 1ct (slightly over but cant remember exactly)
Elongated cushion cut
Unheated & untreated
VVS clarity
Slight window (hoping setting with close it!)
Bright cherry red

The iphone photos are awful of course - I see no modifiers IRL, its very bright red...

A gorgeous red cushion spinel - what's not to love? And wow, 6 months, that's quite a commitment of time. Congratulations on getting your baby home at last!

It is the most major/expensive gemstone purchase i have ever made and will replace my lost ruby ering.

The last above shows it with a pair of zircon baguettes which I thought maybe I could use as sidestones...?

I love the LM ring you posted. I also love the idea of art deco. I'm sure others will weigh in on the zircons, as I have no experience with them. But your ring will be fabu, for sure!

It'll be very pretty if set N/S. I am very hesitant at setting zircons in rings but they look great as a combo.

A few new better photos in natural shade and daylight! (Last lot were taken at night under bedroom light)

Think I would revise the clarity rating to VS1 as I've noticed a few tiny bubble inclusions on one side - not noticable to the naked eye but quite clear under the loupe. Doesn't bother me thankfully.
