New ring shank

Headlight, your ring is lovely! I have been away and wondered if there was more info on why you switched from the arthritic shank you had before? I remembered that you were, at least intially, pleased with the wider back from the standpoint of no ring turning on the finger. ( the situation of top heavy) So, when I saw this new thread and pics.....I was surprised but totally in agreement that the ring is just beautiful with the new shank!

headlight...I have always loved your ring and always will! I think yours was the first ring I saved when I found diamond websites. My eyes always focused on your diamonds more than the band so I hadn''t really noticed your thick shank. Now that you''ve changed it and pointed it out...well, I still love it!!!!!

Kristydarling: I received the band from Superbcert but it wasn''t even worth taking a photo. Just not right. The band was way too "small" in scale to the shank on my ring, as well as it was a bit more "severe" knife edge. I already sent it back. Back to the drawing board on that one. I think that a petite antique-type band is the best fit, like you did. I do have small, pave bands I can use, and am going to be trying out something else I hope to receive in the next week -- if it is any good I''ll post pics.

Susi: While I will acknowledge that the wider the shank, the more "stable" it sits, but I just am not and cannot be converted into a wide shank girl! I love delicate things! And, it is a whole lot easier getting a narrow shank over my enlarged knuckle than a wide one, so there is a plus for that. My stones are set so low and I think that really makes a huge impact on reducing spin. Thanks for posting!
