Hi all,

Thought I would share with you 2 projects that I had been working on that I picked up from my jeweller yesterday. To celebrate the birth of my second son I wanted a nice right hand ring (I got my sapphire eternity band after the birth of my first son). As we are in the process of moving house, my husband asked if we could use some of the unset stones I had or remodel pieces that I didn't wear instead of getting a completely new piece of jewellery to keep the cost down which was fine with me!! I had acquired a matched pair of sapphires (1.28tcw) and a 2 ct blue spinel from Tan about 2 years ago which had sat unset, my prototype august vintage cushion (.71, F, i1) that was set in a pendant that i hadnt really worn since I got my BGD Barbara pendant and had the pair of diamond studs my husband gave me on my wedding day (once we learned more about diamonds he upgraded my studs to BGD signature stones in their handmade bezels so again I wasn't wearing them but didn't want to sell them for sentimental reasons.

A new bespoke jeweller called W&W private jewellers in London opened recently round the corner from me and so I approached them about designing some new pieces using these stones. I had in my head two possible projects and depending on the cost would proceed with one or both of them. As all the jewellery I had on that day was bezelled, my jeweller suggested that instead of regular claw settings we look to do some of each piece using a bezel setting. She drew up designs with my AVC in a millgrain bezel and the two sapphire rounds in claw settings and the reverse for the other piece with the spinel in a pointy claw setting and the diamonds from my studs in bezels. The price for both in platinum was in budget so I was lucky enough to do both as I am not sure I could have picked. I loved the idea of the 2 sapphires symbolising my two beautiful boys but equally wanted to be able to use my wedding diamonds again so it was win win that i was able to do both projects!

After an agonising 5 week wait, I picked them up yesterday and they have done an amazing job. I think they are beautiful and am really thrilled with them. I initially thought that the sapphires on retrospect might be too big next to the AVC but the proportions have grown on me overnight and I now love the finger coverage. My problem is going to be how to pick which one to wear every day!! I attach the picture the jeweller took and I will try and get some real life shots when my son is sleeping either today or tomorrow. Thanks for looking!!

Just to say from the photo the spinel might look a little windowed but i can assure you there is no window in real life. Think it must be the angle the stone was at when the photo was taken.

Gorgeous rings!!! :appl:

I agree - hard to decide which to wear each day- they are both spectacular! hoping when the baby is sleeping, you can get some hand shots.... GORGEOUS!!!

Nice rings, we need hand shots!!

Both are very pretty! And yes, we do need hand shots.

That is so cool; the two rings are opposites of each other, both in colour and design.

I think they're wonderful.
Congratulations!
:appl:

They are beautiful!!! Don't be stingy, we want TONS of photos.

That worked out so well that you had the right stones to make mirror opposite rings. They're both lovely and I love the way jeweler used a mix of bezel and prong settings.

hand shots please!

i love the bezel/prong combo- great idea.

Wonderful rings. I particularly appreciate the ring with the AVC and the colored round sidestones. I have been considering such a combo myself, and was wondering how it would look. I, too, urge you to post more photos as they would be most helpful. :appl:

Besides, we all love the eye candy. :appl:

Lovely rings indeed  We do need more photos!

Both are elegant and simple, and the colour of the stones is lovely - and that is quite a nice spinel, with just a touch of purple, it seems!

Congratulations on two lovely rings. It looks as though the jeweller did a good job and I'm glad I don't have to make your decision in the morning as to which to wear. Love the fact you were able to use all the sentimental stones as well.
