He had COSTUME? AWESOME!!! What was he? WhenI lived in Chicago I always enjoyed the dog halloween party that took place in the park near my apartment. I''m always thinking I''ll get or make costumes for Angie and Claire. One year I think I borrowed some costumes from a friend but it was after Halloween. I remember taking pics of Claire in a prisoner outfit inside her crate. I think she tried on a devil costume too. Can''t remember what Angie was.

I always mean to ask you - how did you find out for sure that the Demon is a Carolina Dog? I wish I knew about Angie. The vet thinks she is (at least partly), but no way really to tell. We think Claire is just a mix of everything - shep, hound, boxer, and something that runs crazy fast.

Can''t wait to see your new ring! The more I look at the pics, the more I like it!

He was a Demon of course! (Actually, we just put the horns and cape on him and used the pitchfork from a costume my husband was wearing to a party, but he looked so cute in person!)

We never did find out for sure that he''s a Carolina Dog, but we are just 100% convinced. We have recently become NOT 100% convinced that he''s fixed (despite what the Anti Cruelty Society said), but that''s a whole ''nother topic altogether!

I feel bad that these pictures make it look like such a brick. It really is an elegant piece in motion.

The happy hubby is home now--maybe I can get him to post the professional pic to show the details.

Let''s see if this works...

If you indeed see a ring below it is the one that''s on my hand, and I just wanted to show the level of detail and the workmanship.

(And Cehra - here''s an even better view of the corners!)

Would love to see some pics of him all dressed up! That sounds a lot like the devil outfit Claire borrowed. VERY fitting because she can be devilish when she tries - she chewed up a black pen and got permanent ink all over the carpet last week. (I WILL write those folks who make Resolve someday and thank them profusely from saving me recarpeting expenses on multiple occasions!)
I also love the photo you just posted! It shows the detail a lot better. It''s beautiful!

yes that is gorgeous!!!! and look at all those little arrows too!!!!!! very cute!!!

That is fabuloso (sorry, too much Dora the Explorer for me). No way is that thing *too much*. OOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhh it''s just right!!!! I can''t wait to see it finished and on your finger with your stone. YUMMMMMO!

DeeJay I am so glad you are getting crystalization in your setting search.

I took a really long look at this. First I wasn''t sure but after a few second looks I thought - this is FABULOUS. I think the side view of this setting is just to die for. I love the workmanship. It''s a powerful statement of a ring. I can believe it when you so the ring looks very good in "movement" on your hand. I can visualize that.

I think it will be a joy and it will also be very personal and unique. I like your nick-name - The Brick.

Cannot wait to see it all finished.

You guys are all so sweet--I don''t know what I would do without my "support group"!

So now we just sit back, relax (yah, right!) and hope that it shows up in time for the holidays. They said it would, but I''ll belive it when I see it!

HI:

Look forward to seeing it on your hand!

cheers--Sharon

Holy cow, it''s absolutely stunning!! DeeJay, it''s perfect--not at all clunky, chunky, gaudy or tacky. It''s classy and GORGEOUS!!! You can''t go wrong with this one. Can''t wait to see the finished product!

DeeJay, seriously, it doesn''t matter one iota what we think, if you like it, it''s right.

Congrats, and I hope it''s everything you dreamed of!

I think its VERY MUCH but in a good way. I also particularly like that you''re doing the sidestones with a bezel instead of prong set (as on the examples). The only thing i don''t dig about the examples ones is how the sidestones are just floating alongside "the brick" ... they''re like EARS or WINGS or something ... but if they were each snug in their own bezel (milgrained) they''d seem more INTRINSIC to the ring, ya know?

Anyway WOW. Can''t wait to see it come together!

Deco - I LOVE your description - "very much"!

And you hit the nail on the head about the side stones just floating out there. I think the milgrained bezel will tie them to the center halo in a ring that brings the whole thing together.

Now the question is whether I''ll be able to lift my hand...

DeeJay, that ring is beautiful!! Wow. All the elements seem so perfect.

DeeJay, it is beyond GORGEOUS! You made a wonderful selection and I think the design looks very regal on your hand.

I cannot wait to see the finished piece. It will be a Merry, Merry Christmas for you!!

Congratulations!

DeeJay, start strapping 3 pound weights to your hand in preparation.

The ring is big but in a good way. In a regal, stand alone way. I love it. Truly.

Wow Deejay, that''s going to be one show stopping bad boy! Your current ring is already TDF but now this! YAY! I can''t wait to see pics!

Oooh, I''ve seen Jack Kelege settings in person, and they are beyond gorgeous! And I love round stones in the square halo with cut corners! That''s what I''d do for my own if I were having a halo!

~~DeeJay, it''s beeeyond stunning!!! I love it!!!

DeeJay - congrats on finding a setting! It''s blingily intricate and would make a Hollywood celeb jealous!
