Thanks once again everyone, am always overwhelmed by your comments!
Overall, I am very pleased with the jeweler''s, Leipo, on my ring but not with my mum''s ring. Mine is a pre-cast ready casing from their manufacturer''s and they just set the stones into the ring. The setting is something that I''ve always wanted and thanks to my wonderful mum who paid for it as my bday/ Xmas present, I got it much earlier than I planned for. The melee in the band is 0.18cttw and its a 18k whitegold setting.
My mum''s was custom-made according to the design that I gave them. If you guys havent already noticed from the side, one of the stones is very obviously set crooked, the stones are set very high; not like what we wanted & showed them and from the front, the bars are made slanted to one side which results in the whole ring looking slanted when viewing! I''ll just let my mum decide what she wants to do with the ring.
The overall look of the ring is very BLING though and covers the finger nicely, the middle 3 are non-branded non-certified H&A and the 2 at the side are just stones we had that have minimal light-leakage through the IS, its approx 0.9ct cttw, just gotta love the overall in your-face bling-factor, LOL...
Mara: It does!!! bah, dont know if thats a good or bad thing....
MC: The band I got from my husband for my bday/ Xmas present doesnt go with the new setting (to me)!!! I''ll let you decide for yourself.
Patty: Yup, 18k yellow gold cos white doesnt suit her skin tone!
