I have had this ‘pink’ zircon from Jeff Davies for over 2 years and I finally found a setting for it. It was a preowned setting with a fake stone and some kind of fake side diamond.

I almost sold this stone because it’s large (for me) at 2.2cts and it is shifty in color and I really wasn’t sure I liked it. But when I came across this affordable setting I decided it was worth a shot. I’m in love. This stone is more fiery than a diamond. It’s incredible.

The color was described as pink but it shifts from a deep pink to orange-pink to red-pink to purple depending on the lighting. It’s very strange. Mostly it appears to me to be burgundy or purplish in color. When sunlight or overhead LEDs hit it, it is a glitter bomb with every color of the rainbow sparking at the same time. Even if it’s not showing its fire in dimmer light, it still sparkles nicely. It can be very dark so I think it’s a daytime stone.

I have a ton of photos trying to capture the various colors and the sparkle.

What a wonderful buy! I'm glad you found a "new" dress for her. I love the flower and leaf motif, along with the diamond accent. Nice cut to that zircon... enjoy!!

Thanks!

Here’s a couple of photos after sunset in natural lighting and facing different directions. It can definitely be very dark but with just a little bit of light it does light up well.

Wow, she does have a kaleidoscopic of personalities, doesn't she? How unique!

It’s really hard to get photos of the dispersion so I took a video. Even that was difficult because the camera was overwhelmed so I tried using a low exposure. That worked but it’s blurry. The color is what I see in real life with bright light. It’s incredible.

She's like 5 gems in one!

What a beautiful stone. Zircon is underrated IMHO, but this is probably not helped by dodgy sellers selling CZ rough as natural zircon!

The colour makes me wonder if the stone is from Tanzania. Do you know where it's from, by any chance?

Thanks!

Beautiful stone and setting, that fire must be amazing irl:kiss2:

My mahenge garnet behaves the same way, also blacks out/closes up when I'm facing certain directions. But any inkling of direct lighting it turns into a sparkle bomb.

I have no idea of the origin. I don’t think it was in the original listing. It was from Jeff Davies.

I found this old listing and it does say Tanzanian and the color looks identical to mind. Must be the same rough. Definitely Tanzanian. Can you tell me more about these?

What a lovely shifty pink/purple zircon, I have never seen one in this shade. And I adore unique settings and this one is so beautiful without the need for any extra diamonds or gemstones to highlight its charm!

Hi there. I suspect the zircon is from Rweko in Nkasi District in Tanzania:

They are often red, pink or purplish. I have 3 crystals of zircon that I bought from a dealer at a rock & gem show a few years ago. The dealer didn't know where they were from but two of the crystals have a lovely pinkish-purple colour. I suspect these are also from the same deposit:

What a fun floral ring. It looks beautiful with your pink zircon. :kiss2:
