I finally found one that seems to fit all my desires: color, cut, size, and provenance.

This is a 3.92 carat, 9mm., portuguese cut, great yellow/orange color with great sparkle, from Loliondo. It has the typical sugar, but I don't mind it. On hold at Litnon until I get my next paycheck. Please give me an assessment of what you think. I'm interested to hear if it is as desirable a stone as I hope it is. You know I don't take offense, so be brutal!

A beauty! Congratulations! Flame orange...

Do you think the inclusions will be distracting to the eye? There are supposed to be "sugar" inclusions in the Loliondo, but I don't know at what level they are too much?

I saw that and thought of you. I think you're going to love it, Uppy. Inclusions and all!

I've had my eye on that one since they listed it, and was surprised it took as long as it did to move into the "reserved" section. I've seen a couple of sugar-y Loliondo spesses in person and thought they were very glowy and pretty. I didn't find the sugar bothered me at all. It's a nice cut and if the colour is good, it's a great-looking stone (and a decent price). I'm looking forward to your thoughts once you get it, as well as your own pics! :)

I have photographed quite a few of these spessartite's and the inclusions, show up way more in the pictures than they do in person. I'm sure it will look much cleaner to you in person.

Oh, you beat me to it! I emailed him and wondered why I didn't hear back...

It looks beautiful to me and, while I may be disappointed, by wallet thanks you.

Oh, whoops, wrong one! I was after the Namibian one.

But that one is beeyootiful!

It's beautiful in the photos, and I agree with Gene, the sugar inclusions do not show up nearly as much to the naked eye.

HI:

Looks dreamy/glowy! Let us know when you get it.

cheers--Sharon

The inclusions are very noticeable at the range taken by the camera but if you imagine the stone more at arm's length then they will diminish somewhat. For me (and I like inclusions if they're not too distracting), I wouldn't worry UNLESS the sugar made the gem look too hazy. It might be worth asking the question.

I suspect I have a "twin"-like spess coming my way! WOO-HOO!

Wooo hoo! I'm so glad you're getting it!

I think the stone appears very lively and seems to have a beautiful color and glow to it. I really like the size of the stone as well.

I hope it's what you are looking for!

CAN'T WAIT! CAN'T WAIT! CAN'T WAIT!

No update, but it is very close to paycheck time and I'm getting eager.

It's on the way!! Can't wait to see if it is as beautiful as I imagine. Please, don't let my hopes be too high!!

Oh UPG..that stone is fantastic!
I think the sugary inclusions will help scatter the light and give it a very uniform color
Good eye on this one!!

I can't wait to see it Uppy! :appl:

I'm afraid that one was me - I bought the Namibian one.

Good for you! Can you provide photos?

Uppy, have you gotten your stone yet? Do you have photos for us?
