Hi Everyone!

This is my first posting and I'm very excited about being here. I don't remember a time when I wasn't interested in gemstones, so I can't wait to talk to some of you about what I've collected over the years. At a local gem show a few weeks ago, I picked up my latest "find," a 14 1/2 carat Australian crystal opal. The dealer told me it was from the Lightning Ridge mines. Yesterday, I picked up the finished pendant from my jeweler and I want to show it to you and get your opinions. I will post photos in the next couple of hours...when I learn how to do it.

Welcome! Lightning Ridge Opal is great. Great idea to use it in a pendant. Glad to see a new face here, I am assuming you are human and the avatar is your pet. Best regards, Lee

M76Steve: Why are you pretending to be someone you're not? If you're allowed to post here again, then post as yourself please.

I am NOT Steve; but I am his wife. Sorry, I didn't realize that when one person in a family is bounced from this list, it applied to everyone else. I love gemstones and I wanted to talk to other people who do as well. If I'm not allowed, please let me know.

Leslie

Yes, I am a human...and the "avatar" is Mazel Tov a/k/a Mazey, an 18-month old Bombay. Thank you for the warm welcome!

Leslie:

My sincerest apologies! Welcome to the forum! I have always wondered about "the other half," for whom Steve has so lovingly created all the jewelry! You must be knee deep in pendants and such and I hope you love them as much as he does.

Again, I am sorry I jumped to the conclusion it was Steve.

Apology accepted. Yes, I think our collection is wonderful...and it's all a lot of fun to wear.

Do you wear earrings? It seems that mostly what I've seen of yours (from Steve) are pins and pendants. I'm not sure I remember earrings.

Waiting for pictures. :naughty:

Sorry but I just don't believe you.

M76Steve you were awful and were banned for a reason. You've tried to come back on numerous occasions. Why? You used to tell us what a huge fan base you had - I wonder why you keep coming back here as we clearly didn't appreciate your collection.

Your writing style in your numerous prolific recent posts demonstrates you are M76Steve and not his wife.

I agree with LD on this.... but even if this is "Leslie, your wife" why would you (she) come back and post on a forum (PS) that you (or your wife) have nothing but horrible things to say about on a different forum? You even introduced yourself on that other forum, by telling everyone that you were banned here, as though it were a badge of honor.

There are several of us that frequent the colored stones section of the other forum, and have called you out on posting "BS" over there. I guess you thought you'd get away with it because many of the members there are not that colored stone savvy.... But trying to get away with it again over here, where many of the members (and I am not including myself in this) are quite savvy is ..... :nono: :nono: :nono:

Leslie's posts make sense, while Steve's were quite difficult to decipher sometimes.

I hope you are Leslie and not Steve. And I second the question of, do you wear earrings?! We need pictures :)

If you are Steve, they'll ban you again so it doesn't matter.

Look, I don't know who you are, and I'm not going to furnish any further proof that I am Leslie...NOT Steve. Frankly, I am highly insulted that you feel you KNOW more than I and that you doubt my word. Steve is NO longer on this website and he wouldn't return to it if sent an engraved invitation. Believe or don't...I am NOT Steve. Have a lovely day. :angryfire:

Leslie

I am indeed Steve's wife. As I told LD, he wouldn't come back to this website even if invited.

Since I retired I haven't worn earrings as much, but I do have a few pair that I return to on occasion. I'll post photos of them later today. I have Spessertite and Demantoid garnets, diamonds, emeralds, rubies and moonstones...they are all leverbacks. :)

Shaanti,
Leslie

Why on earth would you come onto a forum that has banned your husband for appalling and despicable behaviour?

Your "husband" posted hundreds of photos of poor quality gemstones saying they were top colour, best quality etc when in reality they weren't. The only thing they had on their side was size. Colour/cut etc., were dire. Your "husband" told us all how he had fabulous valuations on everything but was using a back street jeweller to provide them. Despite trying to help your "husband" he ignored all advice and basically told us we were all stupid. As pointed out above, your "husband" has been called out for BS on other forums so it's not a unique event.

I'm glad to hear your husband isn't coming back but I wonder why on earth you would want to frequent here? If you think I'm being harsh (and I acknowledge I am), it's because your "husband" decided to team up with another despicable poster to have a go at me and unfortunately came a cropper because his gem knowledge was dreadful and so he showed his true colours in trying to call out one of my Alexandrites - as well as making himself look stupid by going to the vendor I purchased from to try to get him to admit it was synthetic! If it wasn't so pathetic it would be laughable.

Have you gotten the insults about my husband out of your systems? He's not here...so there isn't much point to this continual waste of energy and the forum's writing space. My main reason for logging onto this website in the first place was to hopefully acquire some useful information and thereby learn something new about the gemestones I have or might wish to purchase in the future. Back-biting and insults aimed at someone who is no longer present is not only very annoying it's totally absurd.

Leslie

This is my final reply to you, LD. Though entitled to your opinion, your memory is faulty on many points. Please, don't bother to reply to any of my postings...they won't be answered. Steve is indeed my husband...NOT my "husband."

Leslie...for the last time...NOT Steve. :wavey:

Thank you for trying to censor my posts but I will reply to any thread I so wish. If you don't like what I post then I suggest you put me on your ignore list. I'm sure you won't feel it any loss.

In the meantime, because I am not devious but I am honest, I will confirm that I have reported you to the Moderators and it will be their decision if they wish to allow posts from a banned IP address.

HI:

Being banned from PS is not the end of the world...not even close. In fact--it could be a "beginning" as it has for many who have been in the same position, and perhaps more than once.

MT and/or Steve: if it is with incredulity that you are received here, by now it should be apparent that honesty is the best policy. Only you have control of that.

cheers--Sharon

How funny. Sorry I missed whatever Steve did. Never knew he was banned. Leslie, I still welcome you. Even is this is Steve, I could not deny someone a second chance. Either way, try to be on your best behavior, water on a ducks back, this group is worth it. Best regards, Lee

I was going to let it alone, but now that you clarified your reasons for being here, I can adamantly state that that is not what you've demonstrated so far in the short time you've been here. You show large, dubious quality/origin stones and appear to want nothing but positive comments on them. When we comment that they may not be what they're purported to be, or state that we don't think they're the best color, your responses have been to argue and be defensive. In this manner, you are exactly like Steve used to be, so you can understand why people doubt you. Also, if you were really here to "acquire useful information" and "learn something new about the gemstones I have," you'd be open to the comments we make instead of telling us once again, that so and so expert got it from so and so mine owner who knows for sure its _____. Instead, you might show interest in having a bunch of fairly knowledgable folks, including professionals, tell you its not great quality or it really doesn't look to be what you purport it to be...

Basically, not to be harsh, but I have found very few of Steve's stones noteworthy and frankly, worry that you have been ripped off. That was the whole basis for the falling out; that members of good standing were telling Steve over and over that we were concerned about his valuations and the quality - which he would hold up as stellar - of his stones. Quality that folks here thought was mediocre at best. He refused to consider any possibility that taking it to private appraisers to verify the gemstones and valuations were not as good as getting a report from a reputable lab, such as AGL or GIA, and would not consider sending anything to a lab. Major red flag there. If I don't want to send a stone to the lab, its because I'm afraid it won't be what I think it is - I send it anyway, though.

Anyway, consider this, and consider changing your approach to our responses if you really are here to get useful information and learn as you state above. It would be great if you would be less defensive and more interested in finding out if what we say is true by having a lab verify.

MB,
Thank you for your eloquent post which I agree with; you saved me a lot of time and brain wracking wondering how to word my thoughts in a clear, polite and conscise manner.

I think it's his fourth or fifth chance by now.
