Hello all! Have been lurking for a while and appreciate all the great information on opinions on this site!

I think I've narrowed down my search to two (maybe 3) princess cut diamonds. I was looking for around 2 ct. H VS2. Color and clarity were flexible, but this is around the zone I was looking for. Above all, I wanted the best cut I could find. So, I've narrowed my selections down to the following two:

2.070 G VS2: http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-2835498.htm
2.038 G SI1: http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-2835499.htm

Whiteflash has been great to work with and was even kind enough to make a video of these stones for me. There is a third in there that I was considering as well, but dropped out the third because it didn't seem to scintillate as well as the other two above. Here's the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjfUcG5wkbc

My thoughts: I think the that 2.038 G SI1 obviously offers a better value due to the lesser clarity and I think that the cut is VERY close to the 2.070 G VS2. Toss up on the cut, ASET and Ideal-Scope. The feather that is visible in the table is supposedly eye clean (verified with Whiteflash since the have it in-house), but in MY mind, I feel that I'm forever going to be trying to find it when I look at the stone... even though I probably will never see it without magnification, I know it's there.

For the 2.070 G VS2, I REALLY love the symmetry of the cut and the distribution of the blues on the ASET. However, I'm wondering if there is TOO much blue? The other one has a little less blue and more red. Am I splitting hairs or will a little too much blue make the stone appear less bright?

Anyway... I'm looking forward to hearing opinions from folks who have more experience analyzing diamonds than me (which is probably just about everyone on here)!

Thanks in advance!

I love everything about the G VS2!!! You don't want as much green, but blue is good!

No, there is not too much blue. Blue is good, it is just contrast. Tilt the stone and that part will appear red and others blue. You really don't have to overanalyze an ACA because it is going to be a top performing stone!

All three diamonds are great. It would be impossible to go wrong. But I would choose the G VS2 because there'd be no regrets. Great color and clarity, gorgeous cut!

That's what I was thinking, but wanted confirmation, thanks!

I'm with you on the regrets part. Appreciate the feedback!
