new US postage = new wedding stamps

I went to the post office today to pick up stamps for my wedding invitations, since today is the first day of the increased postage. I asked for the wedding heart stamps, and to my surprise, they don''t make them anymore (at least not for the new postage prices)! The new stamps are wedding rings for 44 cents and a wedding cake for 61 cents.

I got the wedding rings, but I kinda wish they still did the hearts...
What do you all think about the new ones?

But I understand the nostalgia as our wedding stamp for 2008 was very sweet - it was the bride hugging the groom and a close-up of his hands clasped at the back of her waist...

Uh oh....guess I''ve been living under a rock...I didn''t know postage was going up. My response cards are due 5/15 and I only put the old stamp on the envelopes. Guess it pays to mail early....too bad for my procrastinating friends. LOL!!

There are also King and Queen of Hearts stamps @ .44. We are using 6.5 X 6.5 envelopes, so we are doing one king and one queen on each envelope. Another cute option.

And, Simpsons stamps! I was actually going to order these, because I thought FI would be really excited about it. Turns out, FI liked the King and Queen ones better. I learn things about him every day. . .

Totally cute idea! I may have to "borrow" that especially since FI plays poker every week and our Halloween wedding is taking place at a Great Hall modeled after the medieval times - King and Queen would be appropriate indeed!

I used the rings, they are ugly, the green hearts matched my color scheme perfectly and so does the new cake, but my invites were 79 cents to mail...

I mailed my invites today and sucked up the ugliness, there was NO WAY I was going to use those forever stamps!

I agree with you... I think they''re ugly. The green would have matched my invitations. Oh well... I''m probably the only one that will notice

I love the rings! I actually bought them early for my invites that went out before the price went up, because I liked them much better than the heart. We are both having gold wedding bands and gold is in our color scheme so it seemed to work for us.

I bought my stamps yesterday and they are going to be $0.81 a piece so I have to use the rings. I am not excited as I really liked the green heart too.

I might look into the King and Queen of Hearts and return my rings. I wonder how long they will take!?

Ha, count me in as yet another borrower! I love that idea... we are doing 7x7 envelopes so hopefully the two of them will work for us as well.
