Newbie: Whiteflash ACA round 2.5-3ct or something else? (budget $50k)

Thank you for the super detailed questions, love it!

She's currently finishing up a master's to become a psychologist/therapist. She's not a big jewelry wearer and rarely wears anything but a simple earing, and her jewelry box is full of her mom's more traditional rings. And she generally leans towards more classic/discreet rather than blingly.

I think she'd prefer a classic Tiffany solitaire or simple prong to show off the stone.

I mentioned in another answer above, but her fingers are quite small, ring size is a 5-5.5 so that's another thing to consider when considering the size!

I think that a classic solitaire sounds like it would suit her style and career plans. I agree that in healthcare going a bit smaller on carat weight may feel more appropriate for workplace wear (for practical and interpersonal sensitivity reasons). The beauty of Whiteflash is that even if you go a bit smaller and she decides she wants a larger stone, you can upgrade.

The Vatche U-113 setting is a six-prong tiffany style solitaire. https://www.whiteflash.com/engageme...-solitaire-engagement-ring-by-vatche-1778.htm

Thank you everyone. I have gone with this one on a Vatche U-113 setting!

Based on the feedback here, I went down on the carat as I found out her ring size is barely a 4 and went up on color to a G. The size difference between the 2.4 and 2.5ct was minimal so the $10k+ savings to the 2.5 F seemed worth it.

Also, taking a look at the detailed AGS reports and close-up images, the color on the 2.4 G seemed more clear/white than the 2.5 F did, albeit to my very untrained eyes. The WF rep also seemed to agree but of course they mostly want to support your views. WF was simply a pleasure to work with.

Sincerely appreciate everyone's time in giving such great and upfront feedback and advice, truly a great community. I will make sure to post pictures when I receive!
