So I have a job at an upscale fancy-pants clothes boutique in Boston, and I swear I have never seen this this many probably real 3+ carat rings every 24 hours in my life. I mean LORD. And not just diamonds...I think I''ve seen at least one tanzanite that big as well. Oh, and yesterday I saw not one but THREE Ritani Endless Love rings.

Anyone else in the Boston area who can tell me if this is normal? Anybody? I''ve so far only had one woman try to pass off a falsy on me as real...most of them are a little warm and look totally genuine.

Also, there is a wonderful vintage store down the street with a pair of--get this--bright beautiful ORANGE garnet studs. Yum. They are about 150, but I may just have to get them at the end of the summer.....whoo. Working on this street is not very conducive to saving my paycheck...

OrANGE GARNETS.. for 150$? Scoop those up girl!!!!

That's so funny about Newbury St.! My hubby lived in Boston for about 10 months right after we met and I would go there about once a month. We would always walk up and down Newbury Street and go to the restaurants and shops. Even 8 years ago the diamonds seemed so big to me--and I'm sure the average size was smaller than it is now!

By the way, there's this awesome little jewelry store up on the second floor of one of the buildings, just a few doors down from the Ben and Jerrys, that has a great selection of vintage pieces (sorry I can't remember the name of it). There was one pendant in particular that I still kick myself for not buying!

YES!!! Small treasures? Something like that. I love that store - I go in whenever I''m in the neighborhood. They are so nice and have beautiful estate pieces.

Scintillating...

Hmm, I''ll have to look for it tommorrow! Upstairs by the Ben and Jerry''s, eh? I usually go to the one on the other side of the street down from Cole Haan.

Woe!!!!

The earrings were mislabeled and the worst part is that I TOLD them so! They had them listed under the Rhodalite price of 250 but they were spress and seven hundred dollars..woe!!!!!

On the plus side, the rhodalite ring I loved last Christmas is still at my favorite antique store and is on sale for 250. It has a few little diamonds in it and is truly lovely. Plus the people there are very knowledgeble and I appreciate that. They let me play today and I saw an GORGEOUS step cut unheated yellow sapph, about 6 carats, and beautiful cats-eye with a halo of diamonds, mmmmm.

I mailed Richard to ask about possibly making me a pair of spress studs, but he may not be able to do it, my budget is very low for cherrypicked.
