I have read many comments on how palladium is a good alternative for white gold and platinum, especially when you don''t want to be bothered by rhodium plating your ring every 6 months or so. I was very excited to read those comments but I''m also worried about some comments saying palladium causes allergy symptoms for those who are allergic to nickel. I''m allergic to nickel: if a jewellery piece contains nickel, the piece burns, itches and creates small blisters on my skin. I have not noticed any allergic reactions from zippers, belts or that kind of stuff, just jewellery, maybe I''m not particularly sensitive. I don''t get any reactions from 18K yellow gold or silver but I don''t know how my skin would react to white gold.
I''m curious to know if people with nickel allergy have palladium jewellery. If you have nickel allergy and own palladium jewellery piece/s, I would be ever so grateful for any comments you might have. Do you get an allergic reaction or have you used palladium jewellery without any incidents? Do I have to give up on the idea of having a palladium wedding ring and try to save up on a platinum ring? Do I risk it and give palladium a go?
