What are some nicknames you have for each other?

-----
My SO thinks "beau" is pronounced like "boo". He calls me "boo", but types out "beau" when he texts or chats with me. I attempted to correct him a few times, but he says that he's not wrong because it's how he pronounces it. Whatever, lol.

That's the most stable of nicknames he has given me. He comes up with a new nickname every few weeks, and uses it for a while until he forgets about it. "Boo" has been around for years. Other nicknames include bubblebutt, monkeybutt, ____butt (insert whatever random word he thinks up of), pie, key lime pie, pumpkin pie, _____pie (insert random pie types). Now that I think of it, I don't think I have ever heard him call me by my first name unless he was asking for me on the phone and didn't recognize my voice. I'm Madelise Hislastname on his phone book, and used to be MFHW (My Future Hot Wife) on his previous phone since probably our first month of dating.

I usually call him by his first name, shortened version. If I'm angry or annoyed, it's his first name, full version. If he's ignoring me or not answering fast enough, and I'm annoyed, I call him by his full first name and last name. I've also taken his first name and made some word play. And he totally laughs at me when I call him "Babe". I yell it, or drag the long a so that it's long and annoying. Or whine. I sometimes call him "Booby" because he banned me from calling him "boo", since it's his.

okay, your turn.

we usually call each other babe. really boring and almost annoying, I know lol. but sometimes it's variations of, like babester, little baby, babester mcgee...haha. I called him my grizzly bear for a while because he was doing no shave november and looked like a grizzly mountain man so he is in my phone with the bear emoji next to his name! he'll usually only call me "dear" or "honey" if he feels like I'm nagging him about something..

Movember! I remember all my coworkers were SOOO fuzzy! They all looked like cavemen! Some of them styled their mustaches to look like cartoon staches. I loved it! I think that nickname is the cutest, you should totally still call him that, lol!

My SO calls me Bean or Razzle, or a variation of. Sometimes his family members use them too, ha ha! Bit weird, but I guess it sticks after hearing it so often. For the first few years he would call me Bebop, which I've always thought was way cuter!

I bought SO Razzles candies for his birthday (I had never seen them before) and he said they reminded him of me not only by name, but because at first it (the candy) was yummy and fun, then it (the gum) was a chore and felt like work. He LOVES to tease!

I call SO Rami ('Rah-me'), which comes from his name.. in a roundabout kind of way.

I like Bean! LOL@ his family calling you by his nicknames. That's too cute. That would never happen with "Honey" or "Babe"!

boring here too. Baby/babe is what he calls me. I call him baby or "rex" LOL. Remember rex from toy story? Well when he buys shirls his sleeves are always too long...and he's really anal retentive about it. Hence, Rex....and i guess he does have "a big head and little arms"!

I have to admit, picking on SO is my favorite hobby. :cheeky:

I call him love, hon, and babe. He calls me love, baby/babe, beautiful, sweetheart. It all depends on the situation.

My name doesn't have a shortened version of it, so I've never had an official nickname to begin with. He already goes by the shortened version of his name, so when he's in trouble, I call him by his full name.

I wish I had something more creative to call him.

We never call each other by our names- it's always a term of endearment. It varies but my favorite nickname for my dh is booby (short for bubala) and my dh calls me booby or bubala too. He also calls me sweetheart or sweetie. I also call him honey. But my favorite nickname for him is booby or bubala.
The only time we don't call each other by these nicknames is if we are separated for example in a store. And then one of us calls out Marco and the other answers Polo. :cheeky:

Heheheh I love the Marco polo!! I'll have to try that next time :)

We're pretty boring too I think. We both call each other babe and love. He also calls me sweetheart. I call him pumpkin.

HAHAHA it is SOOOO fun to tease him about it. He is my height...like maybe 1" taller and his arms are shorter than mine...and his shirts never fit right...and i love toy story...so it kinda stuck. I do feel *a little* bad because i mentioned it in front of his friend and now his friends call him it sometimes...LOL. I found a really funny pic of a t rex like cartoon and it said "if you're happy and you know it clap you...oh...wait!" and i posted it on his FB and then all his friends liked it and said OMG that IS YOU!!!!!!! i still havent lived that down. We have a lot of fun together.

He calls me hun. To be honest, we have been together a bit less than 7 years and I don't know that I ever remember him calling me by my first name other than maybe when we exhanged vows. Huh. Maybe he forgot so calls me "hun" to be safe ;)

In texts I call him babe, but in person it's Ed for normal circumstances and Edwin when he's in trouble ;)

HAHA, Missy the Marco Polo is too adorable!!!!!!

SonnyJane, isn't that how nicknames all started? Some guy forgot the girl's name the next morning?

I haven't had to say that to anyone, but I have said "….you" on occasion to acquaintances! OOPS!

We're unoriginal with names.

"Honey" is the most common. Followed by "love" (I say "Hey, love" a lot) and "babe/baby." He also calls me "baby girl" when I'm upset and he's trying to be comforting. "Sweetheart" "Sweetie".... I called him "Hobbit" once or twice because he has a habit of going outside barefoot all the time. He says shoes are inconvenient. LOL.

I say hookworms are inconvenient.

He calls me by my full first name often instead of the shortened version that most people use. His grandmother goes by the same name, so to him its weird to call me that, so he goes for my full name.

Ya, unoriginal.

But when people start going "Ew/gag/get a room" we'll pull out the big ones. Sugarlumpkin, pumpkin pie, teddybear.... we find it funny. :p

I call my husband "babe" or "babes" and he calls me "sweetheart." Either that or we say Papa Bear and Mama Bear.

Funny story... When I talked to the reverend who was going to marry us, he asked me what my husband calls me. So I said, "Sweetheart!" And he said, "No no, what does he call you when you're with other people?" ...And I said, "Sweetheart!"

LOL! Why would he need to clarify what he calls you when you're with other people? Is "Sweetheart" an inside the bedroom-type of name or something?

Did he end up using that as part of your ceremony?

Our names are pretty simple , i call him roobies or babe and he calls me brat , boobaloo and his little import lol. Whenever he has called me his little import peoples mouths drop, he then continues to tell them that he ordered me and waited until i was ripe and ready to make a wife. He is kind of a tool but i love him

I love this thread! My SO and I call each other babe all day long, but I also call him Smelly (he's not, it's a term of endearment lol) and I rarely answer the phone any other way than "Hi Smelly!" Other variations, Smells, Smellykins, Sir Smelly. He calls me Ol' Great Mare (I'm less than a year older than him, he just likes to pretend I'm WAY older and he uses this name whenever I'm complaining of an ache or pain or being tired) and Kiwi. Our dogs also have ridiculous nicknames, at least three each, that they answer to!

FI and I could write a book on how many nicknames we have had throughout the years, but the one that has stuck out and lasted that we use the most is "binky" or "binks". When we first started dating, we would just call each other by our names. Then we went to Disneyland for the first time together and he called me "honey" or "sweetie" or something that just felt really awkward and I looked at him and we bursted out laughing. We knew we needed nicknames that were quirky like us.

So somehow we started calling each other "gnarnian" (I think it had to do with seeing the first installment of the Narnia movies) and then it evolved to gnarny (and some of his friends and family thought he was calling me "arnie" lol! ) and little versions of things that kind of sounded like it.

Then about our 10-11 month dating mark my older brother got married to his girlfriend because they found out she was prego and we started looking at baby stuff to buy and I remember telling him "we need to get a pack of binkies" and he was like "What?! What are binkies??" and I was like "pacifiers. But that's the brand name of the ones my sister-in-law likes so we should get some of those" and ever since he thought it was TOO cute and we've called each other that (with tons other names thrown into the mix).

When my niece and our now goddaughter was born, we started taking her to Disneyland all the time and as she got older she would watch Mickey Mouse clubhouse and when she started taking she said "Mickey" but it sounded kind of like "Minky" so he calls me that sometimes too, especially when he's being cute

I think like some of the other ladies on here we only call each other by our "real" names when we are mad or trying to get the other ones attention in a crowd, lol

We are another of those couples who barely say each others real names AT ALL. It feels weird coming off the tongue...?

We do the "babe" thing a good amount but I would say the most common for us is "Mr. Boyfriend" and "Mrs. Girlfriend" ... yes, so creative. Sometimes I call him Sir, as a shorter way of saying Mr. Boyfriend. Also, he has a few other names that all stem from my rudeness. It started off as "rude lady", then "R.L. Stine" (simultaneously lengthening and shortening Rude Lady), and "Rude Sauce Lady" is one of his new ones - mostly because when he says something mean, I exclaim "RUDE SAUCE!"

Most of the time, we use no names at all. We live alone (+dogs) and spend most of the day together. If I was to talk to him now, I would just start talking.....no names.

I'm dying here. What the heck is "rude sauce"? I need more backstory!

I have no idea where I came up with that. I think I heard it somewhere? But its not impossible that I made it up.
Heres an example of a convo:

SO: Memba that time I was right about something that we disagreed on?
Me: No... but if I had: RUDE SAUCE!
SO: Oh well, EXCUSE ME R.L. Stine, why dont you go write some more Goosebumps books?!
Me: I WOULD but Animorphs really stole my target demographic.

Standard.

Is "rude sauce" anything like "weak sauce"? Because I use "weak sauce" all the time lol!

I think that it may in fact be similar....

The funny thing is I can picture that conversation happening even though I have NO CLUE about rude/weak sauce. Haha.
