NO WAY! NO WAY! A moment of excitement and new hope fills the air!

I just had to share because you are the only ones who would be as excited as I am. So, I'm at work a little bored because I have about a half hour left of work.

So I've been looking at Tiffany's website the past couple of weeks looking at the lovely items when just a few weeks ago they changed the engagement ring section. I thought it was pretty cool because now it shows different ct. sizes and how much the starting cost is. Well, at first- it said 1ct dream ring #1 was starting at $10,300. Oh no! I thought to myself because when FF and I looked a while back ago, they didn't start out at that much. 1ct dream ring #2 was like $12,500 I think? Anyway I had a freak-out moment and emailed my favorite SA to ask her if the prices went up. She answered me back and said no that actually they went down due to the Princess Cut setting.

Ok fine, so the other day I was going to show FF about it because who knows when they will change the website again. He was actually going to look. But the computer locked up so I didn't get to show him. All he did see was when you first click on dream ring #1 it shows a 2ct. and it said $32,000 and he's like $32,000!!!

and that's when it locked up. And I'm like noooo you know what I want doesn't cost that much!

So back to today....I went back to look again (literally just now) and OMG they lowered the pricing!!! Typo? Who knows but I'm freaking out.
So dream ring #1 now starts at $8,500

Dream ring #2 says $9,900

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm SO doing a print screen on that before it changes again to show FF. OOO I can't wait to tell him about it! Mini celebration

Yayyyyy!!! I had the same moment of excitement yesterday because a shirt from Express went on sale by $10! LOL, which is totally not the same thing...

It's kind of the same thing.

I mean, he isn't going to buy one just yet. (who really knows though) But with him being so worried about the economy, his current job, finding a new job etc..etc.. he might actually be excited about this!!!

(this is kind of a crazy burst of unnecessary excitement but I couldn't contain myself. Nobody at work would care. ha!)
Hope I don't jinx myself. Knock on wood......

I used tell friends or co-workers about suspicous activity or something ''new'' that I found and they show about 1/20 of the excitement I have... and then I would be sad... but now I come to this forum and KNOW you''ll be JUST as excited and COMPLETELY understand.

That''s an awesome price for a 1 ct. even without the Tiffany brand so WOO HOO!! Congratulations, I hope the price levels out and sticks so he''ll be able to budget and plan accordingly

I saw those changes a week ago, but I must say....does that one ct stone seem small to you? I think a 1 ct stone looks bigger than that in real life.

I am a little lost (maybe because I did not see your previous threads). What is dream ring #1 and what is dream ring #2?

The prices coming down is exciting .

Oooooh! That is so exciting, Dreamgirl! I was in Tiffany's today and thinking of you (I actually posted that in your WW thread

). Maybe it's due to dropping metal prices? Either way, that is awesome. It's definitely a buyer's market these days (hint, hint, Dreamguy!).

Ohhh exciiiiting. I would be SO mad if I bought a ring for 15% higher several weeks ago-- goes to show how fake their pricing is!

However. It makes my right hand ring just a little closer (and I didn''t even have to save that money for it!)

I reaaaaaally want a ribbon ring.

I talked to FF last night about it he said this is exciting news for us,(

) bad news for Tiffany. He said its all about supply and demand. Their sales are already down (he and I have been keeping up on this) so they are actually hurting currently. I wonder if they will lower the prices even more within the next year or two. I told FF that I don''t know what his budget will be (hint hint) but this is a HUGE drop in pricing. We are actually going to be stopping by Tiff''s this weekend or next while on a Christmas trip to the mall. My SA has the Tiffany Blue Book on hold for me there. I told FF we should have a discussion with her about the pricing

Not sure he will go for that. But we will see.

UUUG how I wished we could get a ring now and just hold onto it for a while......

American Girl- This is the place to gush about these things! lol
news-girl- I am keeping my fingers crossed that the price wont go up because I think these are AMAZING prices. I really wish for a 1ct or higher ring. Not sure that is what I will get though.
LtlFirecracker- It looks smaller than it should but I think its the angle. The 1ct in real life looks much larger than that.

Ok. Some of you know this already but for those who asked.
dream ring #1 is on top. The Classic Tiffany Setting.....
dream ring #2 is on the bottom. The bottom is the Tiffany Round Brilliant with Tapered Baguettes.....

So for those of you who don't know the story about discovering dream rings with FF back in May, here it is. Short version is that these are the 2 rings that he likes a lot for me. I was stuck on something else (that he didn't like) but I finally tried dream ring #1 on and fell in love with it.

Which surprised me because I thought I didn't like it. So then FF sees dream ring #2 in the case and fell in love with that one

(he really likes the cathedral setting) and I tried it on and it is very lovely too. I didn't get too excited about it though because with those tapered baguettes, it cost so much more than dream ring #1. After we left the store that day FF was gushing about #2 but I told him it cost too much. And I've been telling him this ever since.

Fast forward to last night and I told FF how excited I was because of this price drop. I was literally dancing around

I reminded him about dream ring #2 that I always thought I'd never get that one (due to the pricing) but it might actually be possible now!!! So the little weasle says to me "Since when do you care about the price?"

WHAAAT? I told him I've always cared about the price and I wouldn't ever want him to spend a whole lot of money....lol! Which is why for months now I've told him that dream ring #2 cost too much....

Anyway, he had a headache but we are gonna look at the website together and I told him I gotta see dream ring #2 again because I've been thinking about it lately...lol (not sure when we will do that though) Perhaps if Tiff's isn't busy on our trip there, he might be interested? Lets hope so. But I don't want to push....

I almost forgot to mention. So then he tells me "You want me to save for a ring but then you want to raise our Christmas gift pricing..."

(We have a set budget of $200 for Christmas gifts for each other. He wanted this sweater that would set me over so last week I suggested we raise the budget $50.........) So I'm like "Well I only wanted to raise it for you"

I was actually "visiting" some wedding bands I like (especially the Jazz!), but it looks like they can''t be made small enough for me, sadly. If they could do it, the cost of making it custom would put the ring way out of my budget. Plus, there was a price increase on the Jazz

! Every time I go to the mall--which is a lot lately--I visit at least one jewelry store. I had lots of time the other day, so I stopped into Tiffany, BB & B, and Hyde Park.

Anyway, I saw some beautiful sparklies in Tiffany settings, and you were the first person that came to mind

i myself have considered the rectangular lucida and the price drop possibly makes it a contender again - id had to put it on the too expensive shelf. i love the tiffany setting, no matter what anyone says about it the original is rarely matched i think

i think it or with the baguettes will be stunning for you!
