Hey all,

My girlfriend and I have begun to look at rings. We went to a few stores to give me ideas of what she likes. This is the one she picked out as her favorite http://www.jared.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product1%7C10451%7C10001%7C-1%7C530643509%7C19061%7C19061.20807 . Now I know almost nothing about this process but reading over this forum made me hesitant to buy it (have read your paying for hype with the Leo). I was hoping someone could point me on the right track to try to create a ring with the same look (I dont mind buying the Leo if you think thats right way to go either). The price on it was about what I was planning to spend and the size is about as big as she wanted to go (small hands) so I wouldn''t be against suggestions to improve on the ring if I am correct that I''ll save money going the non Leo route. As you can tell I''m pretty lost on this so any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time

So how much were you planning to spend? The $5400 listed?

That is a really nice ring!

The link doesn't give any description of the centre stone(s) - only the side stones.

Can you find out the size of the top 3 stones (mm or carats)?

Do they give you a description of what the 3 main stones are or just that they are "Leo" diamonds?

Your hesitation is most likely going to be worth your while

Brian Gavin Diamonds has a similar ring in princess cuts, I would email them and ask for a quote in round, and/or ask for a quote modifying the

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/home/ring-details/?product_id=5485 to round diamonds

or for modfying the peggy to a three stone

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/home/ring-details/?product_id=5359

It doesn''t look like the center stone in the one you posted is that big, maybe .5 ct. based on that and using the JA prices and/or a modified BGD I bet you could save at least $1000 on the ring, maybe more, and have better diamonds:-)
