Not cheaper by the dozen - mrs-b's new projects - watch this space!

This thread.....has me speechless :love::love::love:

Thanks, @HappyNewLife - I love them, too! I love colored metal with diamonds. Mind you, I also like white metal with diamonds. Or anything, really. :mrgreen:

Thanks, @diamondseeker2006. I'm still working on the setting and could do with your expert help!! What do you think of the size of the diamond on my finger? It definitely doesn't seem too large to me, but it's sizable. Personally, I think it's just right. Your thoughts on size please?

Thank you, @sarahb :)) It's lovely having new things, but I really will be glad when it's done. I'm very nervous about making mistakes, having so many pieces on the boil. It's easy for details to slip through the cracks! I reeeeeally don't want to turn around 12 months from now and say "I've just got to tweak...." :???:

Isn't that the truth. Am in the very throes of decision paralysis, am so incredibly 'stuck' at the moment. But doesn't it feel so wonderful to have the majority of the design processes finished? Everything turned out beautifully! Kudos for making it through!:appl:

So I am back and can finally see the pictures on my PC. The new stone is just stunning! I agree it is a sizeable stone but it looks perfect size wise to me on your hand. I don't think you'd ever need anything larger, the cut is spectacular and I think you've finally found the ring of your dreams! The rest of the pieces are just dazzling too but I really love your new ering for you!!

Did you ever post the specs of the ring - meaning the table, crown and pavilion angles? Would love to see how it all turned out!!

@Lookinagain - I have no idea how I will part with it!! it has to be done, tho; I haven't come this far to fall at the last hurdle!!

Thanks, @Dancing Fire. I'm having trouble keeping up, myself.

Thank you, @kalmen22! Your collection isn't too shabby either - I love your profile shot!

Thanks @Matthews1127 - I'll do my best! And when should your gorgeous new ring be ready? Waiting enthusiastically here!!

@mrs-b,
I’ll be meeting with my SA & Jeweler this coming Friday. Once we go over the design, we’ll figure out budget.
It will all depend on how long it takes for me to get the money together to set things in motion. I’m hoping, next year...or sooner! Fingers crossed!!! :appl:

@mrs-b no words, just love... your ring, stunned. Your taste is impeccable and girl, all your jewelry is beyond cool.. I love that you share your happiness as it makes me happy. :)

What a stunning collection!! Such beautiful pieces! And that ACA...I have NO words. Just wow!!!

@DanDiAnDi - you are always so encouraging and enthusiastic - thank you! And I'm glad you like my new pieces. :)) Still have a few major pieces to come, which I will add in the coming weeks, but the JCK this week in Vegas will slow things down. So it might be a few weeks till I can add something new. :(

Thank you, @goldenfire - when I was trying to get my 5 pieces together for the 'Favorite 5' thread, I had a real time of it! I think I love them all equally and have no 'favorite child'!!

@tfc_diamondlvr - I have a white gold one also, to complete the trio. :mrgreen:

@Stone Hunter - I have planned the guts out of this process! I bought the stones over years and years and have been hovering on the brink of setting everything for the longest time! Now it's just a flood! But of the best kind. :mrgreen:

@MissGotRocks - I'm so glad you like it! I think the size is perfect for my finger. Any bigger and it's just a diamond. But I prefer the look of a jewel, as opposed to just a diamond, so I need to be able to see the band and setting to get that effect. Anyway, this will be it for me, size-wise. I might go up to an H in color one day, but no larger.

@mrsgreeneyes - y'know, I hadn't thought of it like that, but you're absolutely right! And yes, DKJ are doing a fabulous job.

@mrs-b I think the size looks great on you! I don't think it looks too big at all! I felt like you either needed to make the last one a three stone or go larger to get the look you wanted, so I think you made the right decision. It was kind of amazing they had rough to cut exactly what you wanted! You know I am always willing to give opinions on setting ideas! I know how hard it is.

Perfectly said - I couldn't agree more!! And size wise for you, you've hit that magical point of beauty without gaudiness!

MGR - this is the blessing / curse of having a large finger. A 4ct stone for some women would look enormous. But not on mine. I think it looks proportional. I once had a 5+ct OEC. I sent it back as it was just too large. I also love the 2.5ct range as a mid-range diamond on my finger. And I adore the .8-1ct range for something small. They all work - it just depends what look I'm after. I'm hoping DH might give me a 2.5ct stone for my 60th. But that, thankfully, is a few years off!

Well... hello there... :cool2::geek2::kiss2::mrgreen2:

Y’know, thinking back on your journey... everything about your stone search has had the best possible outcome!! Acquisition of a large stone sooner than originally anticipated, successful custom-cutting yielding better than anticipated specs, being genuinely thrilled with the result - I’m so very happy for you @mrs-b!! :appl:

Your new stone is absolutely sublime. The thing of dreams. As I rather think I’ll be dreaming about it... I mean that quite literally :love:
I share your preference for both N/S/E/W prongs and a flatter profile - I hope you don’t have to give her back up for too long!!

And goodness, if your redone earrings don’t just embody glitz and glamour - we need some earshots!!
Actually. We need some new family shots!!

I love this thread. So inspirational and so much eye candy oh my goodness. Love your earrings and obviously your stunning solitaire... ok pretty much everything... Pls post more pics! I second family shots, and ear shots, flower shots, more finger shots... heck you could take them on a leaf and I’ll still be happy to see more pics. :D

Oh. A comment about apparent size.

I've posted on PS before about this... I've compared my well-cut J with well-cut colourless stones of essentially identical diameter. My stone looked smaller. A very slight difference that certainly wouldn't be noticeable unless you had both stones side-by-side, but observable nonetheless.

My J is well-cut. But it's also a middle-of-the-scale J, and it's cut with a small table and very high crown so it's deeper - that extra depth means more layers of tinted material to concentrate body colour face-up. And whiter definitely == brighter, and brighter definitely == bigger! @mrs-b your ACA is about as shallow as it gets for precision-cut stones, and you were happily surprised by lack of body colour so it might be on the higher end of the 'I' range... I'll bet good money if you put your stone next to other I/Js of the same size yours really would look bigger in-person ::)

Wow mrs-b! This thread has my heart rate up every time I drop by! It is so so so inspirational! I do have one....minor.....complaint....

There aren't enough photos!!!! We need more shots!

Thanks, @cokitty! I'm really happy with the size of it - or, more accurately, the proportions. Not too big, not too small. :))

@nala - well, I'm glad you like it! I've had more than a little enjoyment from your ring journey myself!

@Tekate - I'm so glad you've been able to get some enjoyment from my journey with all of this! Still have a few big ones to come, but the JCK is next week, and I think DKJ will be largely closed down while that's on, so I'm not expecting anything else for a while. (- how will I cope??) :mrgreen:

Thanks, @kama_s! I've never had a ring get so many comments before! That sparkle monster sure catches the eye!

@diamondseeker2006 - heeeeeelp! I have NO idea what I'm doing for a forever setting! maybe we should both stop trying to come up with anything and just meet up for a glass of wine and commiserations? That could work!

lol @icy_jade :mrgreen: I'm waiting to get them all together, then will indeed do the whole thing. Brace yourself - it's comin'.....

@metall - I'm sorry about the poor photo showing. It's really not my strong suit. But I promise to do better before this thread ends!

@yssie - I really do need to take some ear shots of those stunners. They are the BOMB in real life.

I totally agree with you re the interaction of color and size. Much as I love this stone (and I do!) I know I'm going to try to improve the color a little at some point. I want to get to an H if I can, and that will be my stopping point. But this will be my stone for a while at least, so I want to enjoy it. And at 10.3mm for 4.01ct, I've been blessed by the cutting gods! I knew I'd get over 10mm, but I sure didn't expect 10.3! So I'm hugely pleased with where this all landed!

I was VERY lucky to be able to upgrade so seamlessly and so quickly, and WF made this about as painless as it's possible to be. I've really come to love that company and the people who work for it and look forward to many happy interactions in the years to come! (....can you say...studs??) :saint:

That solitaire is TDF Mrs B. Those bands compliment the solitaire so nicely. Your collection is amazing and love this tread!

@mrs-b I complain I jest, because all that really matters is that you are happy and enjoying them to the fullest! I have been absolutely in love with your collection - ever since I inquired after your profile stones. It's been a pleasure to see all that you've done with your pieces and to see each transformation!

For @yssie and everyone else who asked - a few ear shots. All basically the same, I'm sorry, but slightly different distances to try to give a sense of proportion.
