Now I really did it :((

I mean I can't come to the GTG if I spend my little "mad money" account AND Bob and his bro don't get the property sold. If I don't buy right now, I'll have my mad money intact in case Tom doesn't get his stuff together by August.

My optical shop loves me: Every year like clockwork I get a new pair of Lindbergs, a new pair of sunglasses and the same for Bob. Ka-CHING. On my Mayo insurance I selected the Dental Vision Reimbursement instead of VSP and Delta Dental so they just write me the large check. Then Bob has Delta Dental so we have it covered from both angles.

They had some nice Cartier glasses and some gold Chanel frames but still so conservative and kind of delicate. The Lindbergs, bullet proof. And hey, if they are prestige-y enough for Queen Elizabeth and Ze Pope, well okay then snork.

Missy, I'm glad your appointment went well today and am glad your doctor is seeing improvements. Please, please just enjoy riding with Greg and forget the goals. The last you need is to do damage to your leg, especially now at you are finally doing so well. I'm with Jimmianne and agree easing back into riding and going slowly is the best approach. Please listen to Greg.

Kristie, I also have a hard timing wearing full eternity rings. They just do not feel comfortable to me. I have a ring that is 3/4 around which I feel is better. It never moves so much that the diamonds are not showing and if my finger size changes I can still have the ring sized. It's a decision only you can make. Everyone's comfort level is different and only you know what is most comfortable for you. I have also had a few friends that gained weight and were unable to wear their rings because they were unable to size them. Which way are you leaning?

Jimmianne, I'm also trying to not look at bling too much until I get this landscaping done. It isn't as much fun to look if you know you can't make a purchase. That's when I love seeing everyone's else pieces and purchases. According to my landscaper many bushes and scrubs need to be replaced every 15 years. I'm just tired of spending so much money every year and never liking it as much as what I had to start with. My yard is small. Only about 1/3 of an acre.

Junebug, I can't wait to hear what you decide on for your new ring. I feel nasty for even thinking of leaving the tree there but I'm so mad that I may just do it. They are just as crazy as I am about having their yard look nice. The dead tree will annoy them to no end. My husband laughed and said he knows I won't be able to leave it there. I would be feeling so much better about the situation if they had come over or called and told me they killed the tree.

Hi NIRDIs!

Hi Orsi!

Missy, thank you! I’ll take a raise any day of the week. I don’t generally read depressing books but they are usually good reads. LOL at “light” reading. I’ve heard Singapore is very nice. We were looking today where it is and I immediately said “You aren’t flying Malaysian Airlines are you?” Marcy or Curby works for me. I don’t have a preference either way. I’ve always enjoyed doing the monthly newsletter. I was going to try a new format and scan some photos I have for the background but the scanner isn’t finding my laptop. I’ll bug Marty about it later. I absolutely love those dangle cushion earrings. They are going to look fabulous. I think you should get that blue zircon ring too. I am glad to hear David thought your face has improved. Oh no for denting Roombie but it sounds like he can take a licking and keep on ticking or cleaning or something.

Jimmianne, thank you about my job. You know every time I tell Marty guess what I did he always says you ran in to another curb? I am with you on looking at bling; looing leads to buying.

Junebug, I hope Grace gets back to you. How exciting. I think Grace will be able to give you a lot of great ideas. Have you tried anymore new recipes this week?

Kristie, I kind of have the same concerns about an eternity band but I have to admit I wouldn’t mind having one. My channel set band usually spins around to the bottom anyway so at least with an eternity band you wouldn’t have that problem. I want to go explore 1stdibs since all the rings you linked are so pretty but I’m trying to keep my EC earrings as my next project. Really. I think. Your new glasses are going to be very cool. I had Tiffany glasses before the pair I have now and I liked them but they were pretty heavy glasses. Since I am pretty blind and even get the most lightweight lenses you can I need lighter frames. I bought a new pair then won a pair so I ended up with 2 new pair this year. I don’t remember the brands right off.

Callie, we were in our last house 17 years and the bushes we put in were really getting out of hand and looking pretty tacky about 14 years in. Marty really trimmed them back and they never came back as nice. We also put them too close to the house to begin with; they were tiny then. We had a wonderful evergreen out front though; that sucker was about 30 feet when we moved and it was my height when we planted it. Hopefully you can find some good sales this spring to get a break on the price for replacing some things. That would be funny to leave the burnt tree facing them. I can’t believe he didn’t come over and tell you what happened and a “I’m sorry and can I pay for you a new tree” would have been nice. Why can’t everyone be as nice and thoughtful as all of you ladies are?

My day was long and busy. OMG I hate this time of year. I worked on updates until about 1 pm and then finally started my work. I came home pretty cranky and pretty much bit Marty’s head off without intending too. Then I made it worse by saying something along the line of I’m sorry you perceived I was … Oh well, I apologized again and it’s all good now. We rarely have silly little fights. I felt bad.

Marty and I met for lunch that was a nice break to my day. We had to install a new Hopper tonight because the other one had the hard drive break. Yay I can DVR programs again.

Take care and have a great Wednesday! :wavey:
Marcy / Curby

Kristie, I love the sapphire band! Really pretty  I see what you're talking about but I think the slight spaces might just be the way the ring is designed, it looks like a good quality piece to me so I don't think it would be poorly made :read: The angle of the pic might have something to do with it too. You could check with the vendor. I used to be heavily in the "why pay for what you can't see" camp in regard to eternity rings, but I've changed my tune a bit. I think they are very elegant looking, and I love that you don't have to worry about them spinning. I wouldn't mind one myself one of these days! :saint:

Calliecake, maybe I'm just evil but I would have no problem with those neighbors looking at that tree. They deserve it. I cannot believe they didn't even bother to tell you about it, that is just wrong. :angryfire:

Marcy, sorry you had such a rough day at work - my husband and I have those little tiffs once in a while too, after they blow over it does seem kind of silly! Glad things are good now. I haven't decided yet what I'm cooking tomorrow, I'm going to search for a good recipe in the morning so I can go shopping for all the ingredients I don't have haha!

Grace got back to me and the mahenge spinel ring is going to be on her smugmug site tomorrow. It's being graded right now by AGL. The zircon ring is already on her smugmug site. Due to my mad detective skillz ::) I'm pretty sure I found the mahenge ring and the Padparadscha ring on PS , they belong to bright ice. I'm sure the paparadscha will be out of my budget. the mahenge is pear shaped, and both are beautiful.

So, we'll see, don't know prices yet.

Yikes, it's late, better get some sleep, will see you all tomorrow!

Good morning girls! Happy tax day. Hope everyone filed and that it didn't hurt too much. ::)

Junebug, I love those rings. How big are they? I know size is important and if the spinel is big enough it might be the perfect ring for you! I do love the paparadscha too but I hear you on the chance that it is out of your budget. Doesn't hurt to check. But that spinel is a gorgeous shape and color and if the size is there I can see you wearing it happily.

I would LOVE to get the blue zircon ring you linked all those pages ago. Not going to happen. I already think I spent more than I should have this year on bling so I have to practice self restraint. But I do love that ring so much. When I think of all my many bling mistakes and all the money I could have used towards bling I would love so much more it gets me a bit sad but then I realize it is just bling and to get a grip. Haha just bling...hope PS doesn't kick me out!

Marcy, I don't know where you wrote about the promotion and it goes to show no matter how carefully one reads we can still miss things here. So glad Junebug mentioned it and I know I already said it but Woohoo!!!! So happy for you and proud of you! Your hard work and diligence and dedication is appreciated and that makes a big difference. :appl:
Having said that I am sorry you had a tough day at work yesterday and I hope the rest of the week gets better. Also very sorry about the tiff you had with Marty. We have those too. Keeps things from getting boring. :wink2: I am sure Marty understands you had a difficult work day. (((HUGS))).

Just what is a Hopper and I am thinking the Killer Bunnies are not going to like this... :rodent:

Callie, you are right and I will, thank you sweetie. OK warning a mini rant is coming on your behalf. I apologize in advance because this touched a sore spot with me. I hate it when people take advantage of nice people just because they can.

I know you are feeling guilty about leaving that burned tree facing your neighbors but I seriously hope you will leave it. I am with you 100% in that it wouldn't have been so terrible had he had the courtesy to come over to you and explain what happened (forget about offering to replace it just have the common courtesy to accept responsibility!) so I 100% would leave it and see if he says anything.

That is terribly rude of your neighbors and I think they either think you are 1. stupid (and I know it cannot be that option so it has to be #2) or 2. too nice and won't make a fuss. And #1 would PISS me off big time :angryfire: and #2 just shows they think they can take advantage of you. PLEASE don't let them.

The nice side faces you. Leave it alone at least for a few weeks and see if he has the guts to come over and fess up. Otherwise if you feel you have to replace it go over to him (or have Jeff go over to him) and ask him what happened and ask him to replace it.Forget about splitting it- it's his fault 100% why should you pay or split the cost? A good neighbor would have least come over and told you about it and discussed the options with you and Jeff. I mean if he comes over and tells you what happened then you can offer to split the cost but otherwise WTH is your neighbor thinking? So rude.

And that is why I think you should just leave it for now and see what happens. It is not marring the beauty of your landscaping and it was 100% your neighbor's fault and he did everything wrong here. Setting the fire too close to your property (reckless), not coming to you and telling you what happened (RUDE) and then just sitting back knowing you would take care of it because that's the nice person you are. I think being nice is great when it is warranted and deserved. In this case it is not and I don't think it is not nice of you (usually I hate double negatives but it fits here IMO) not to replace the tree under the circumstances.

Whew, long rant. Sorry Callie and I sincerely hope I didn't offend you. It makes me burning (haha burning ok unintentionally funny but leaving it to lighten my rant) mad that your neighbor didn't tell you what happened. Not so much that he burned your tree as I am sure it wasn't intentional but just burning mad he didn't come to you like a good neighbor would and discuss with you how he was going to make it right. Biggest hugs to you and please don't be mad I told you exactly how I feel about the situation.

I know others might say do you want to be right or happy but I feel in this situation you can be both. He knows he is in the wrong and this way he knows he cannot take advantage of you this way and will be more respectful and aware that he will be held responsible for his actions.

Jimmianne,, good morning. What's on your agenda today?

Kristie, thank you so much for all your help last night. You are a wealth of info re gemstones and maybe I will have new earrings to share here with the NIRDIs in another few months... We'll see. I waited this long and not sure I will be able to get anything in that low budget I set for myself and if not I can wait a bit longer for when I have more "mad" money as you put it. 8)

As for you, have you made any decisions about those rings? Let us know if/when you hear back from the vendor as we cannot wait to hear if we have new NIRDI bling. :appl:

Good luck today Orsi. Sending you lots of PS ***DUST*** for a good outcome today!

Missy, between your encouraging me to post photos, and WInk challenging me to make a video I have completely gone down the rabbit hole with camera experiments. It's been a long time since I woke up too early, excited to have a fun project.
And yes, so far Puff and the shark get along fine!

I liked your rant! you are so right.

- - - grey and cold here. Does not sound too bad up your way.

later!
happy day, NIRDIs!

Thank you everyine for not making me feel like I'm crazy for the tree situation bugging me. My dad brought up a point that may be true. He said the tree probably didn't turn brown for a day or two after the heat hit it. He asked me how smart the guy is. He said he might not realize he did the damaged. I find this scenario doubtful. If a tree looked wonder one day and dead two days after you had high heat around it, you should realize you caused the tree to die.

Missy, You did not offend me with your tree comments, I was actually quite relieved that it would have made you angry too. I really appreciate your thoughts in this darn tree situation. My husband was over it about 10 minutes after I told him. Although his reaction may be different when he actually sees the tree. I honestly think its a case of the neighbor feeling we can afford to replace it so it's not a big deal. Do you have anything fun planned for today?

Marcy, Contgrats on the promotion and the raise. More money for bling is always a good thing! I'm sorry you had a bad day at work yesterday. Don't worry too much about your tiff with Marty. I'm sure he realizes you had a bad day. It happens in everyones marriage. We are only human after all. One of my bosses had lived in Singapore before he came to the U.S. While in Singapore they had help for everything, someone cooked, another cleaned, did laundry and they had a chauffeur. When he moved to the U.S. he actually asked me how he would contact someone to come to his house and do their laundry. He asked how who did my laundry. I had to tell him that in the US we have washing machines and dryers for this and that I did the laundry. They had live in help while in Singapore. It sounded like the life of the rich and famous. It certainly was a completely different lifestyle then most of us have here. Neither of them had ever driven a car before coming here. His company car was in the auto body shop more times than I could count. Three times for damaging the whole side of the car while taking it out of the garage. Some really funny stories. I will never forget the man at the body shop asking me if my boss really could not understand there was a problem when he first hit the garage. Did he really not think of stopping instead of damaging the entire side of the car. He said the noise alone, not to mention your side view mirror falling off should have been a clue!

Jimmianne, Your photography skills are amazing! Can I send my furbaby to you for a photography sitting? I promise you will love her as she really is quite cute. I saw the video you made. Too cute. Joy has showcased your many hidden talents!!! A camara and a tractor. My husband would fall madly in love with you.

Junebug, I love the rings you posted. It will be interesting to see what they are listed for price wise. They are really beautiful!

Kristie, I can't wait to hear what you decide today. I'm hoping the jeweler comes down on his price and you have a new beauty to show us with beautiful hand shots! I feel bad poor Bubbles has not made her debut yet! Hopefully she will be back home soon!

OV, My thoughts are with you and hope things are going more smoothly for you. We are all here for you!!!

Okay, NIRDIs: Bubbles is coming home! :appl: :D

Ashod (the jeweler in San Diego that Andrew/Gemfix took Bubbles to) called and he ONLY WANTED $80 FOR FIXING THAT STINKING MESS WINK JONES HPD THREW IN MY FACE.

Ashod says he feels its a good looking ring now and the garnet was no problem whatsoever.

That's right: $80 to rhodium plate the low quality alloy of the mount, fixing the prongs of the head which should never have been used for this at all, polishing, and then setting the garnet.

When Ashod found out I paid $1000 for the unfinished mount, he exclaimed: "I could have made you TWO of those at that price!"

Yup.

So of course I will be sending Ashod more than $80 for solving the hot mess left by Wink. Bubbles is being USPS'd here and when she gets here I'm popping the champers and taking pictures a la our grl Jimmianne

Other NIRDI Business:

Junebug, that mahenge spinel ring is WORTHY. I remember that stone, back from my days over on Colored Stones (pretty sure its the same stone). You can't go wrong with that stone.

The pad, are you posting that second pic as being the pad? Its looks light pink almost like kunzite in the pic, I'll go see if I can find it on the smugmug site...

Marcy, promotion?

RAISE? :D :appl: :appl: :lickout:

You go, grlfriend!!

We will celebrate on Tuesday!

(Did you post the promotion deets here? I missed them!)

Regarding the sapphire Bulgari ring on 1st Dibs/Luxury Bazaar: They responded by coming down on the price, that was a nice thing.

I'm still waiting to get pics and more detail on the 60s ring---if that ring can be sold for $780 I'm buying it

I decided for the 60s ring because its unique and fun :lickout:

Kriatie, I'm so happy about Bubbles and glad to hear you will have her back home soon. The price to fix her setting is incredible! Have you done business with him in the past? I would have thought this was going to be much more costly. He is definitely someone I would want to do business with in the future. Yea!!! More money for fun rings!!!

Kristie, great news about Bubbles! So glad things have worked out, can't wait to see her! :appl: And that is great that he went down on the price of the sapphire ring, are you going to get it?

Yes, the mahenge ring is gorgeous, and I'm pretty sure that stone is graded as a pad - hopefully I have the right rings lol. They're not on Grace's smugmug site yet.

Heck, buy 2 pairs!!!! Those are great!

Hi Junebug: Didn't hear back on the 60s ring ;(

Same vendor has the sapphire ring.

The longer I wait to hear back, the $ I'll spend on it diminishes.

How're things going, are you having good springtime weather?

Hi NIRDIs!

Junebug, you ladies are making me want an eternity band. Ooh. Our tiff does seem silly today. I think my emotions have been a bit out of whack lately and work certainly is making me irritable. I hope you found something delicious to cook for dinner. I am glad Grace got back to you. Both of those rings are quite pretty. You have great mad detective skills.

Missy, I hear you on the money we’ve spent on bling that we didn’t really like. Thank you very much about the kind words about my raise and promotion. I appreciate it. The Hopper is a satellite TV receiver and has little Joeys you can use in other rooms. It allows you to record things on the Hopper and watch them on other TV’s in the house. I am sure the bunnies are fine with it so they can watch Wild Kingdom anytime they want. I agreed with every word of your rant! Grr to people like that.

Jimmianne, your photos are great. I enjoyed your video too. Joy is certainly a star performer. I liked seeing your art studio and stained glass in the background too. Winter certainly came back here again today. Did you every see sunny skies today?

Callie, if I saw a burnt tree by where I recently started a fire I would definitely think I did that damage. Of course I’d already be knocking on your door about it. Marty is like Jeff about things; he doesn’t get bothered much or too long if something happens. Life in Singapore certainly sounds different than here. Marty says it is more expensive than Hong Kong but it sounds similar in every day life. I know Marty sure enjoyed the time he spent in HK so I am sure he’ll enjoy Singapore. I did have to laugh at the story about your boss wrecking his car. Along with curbs I have ripped off a side view mirror or two. At least once was leaving the garage and the other time was coming in the garage. My car now has mirrors that fold in. Ha!

Kristie, how exciting Bubbles is coming home. I am very excited to see it. Thank you for the congratulations about my raise and promotion. I appreciate it. Way to deal on the ring and get a lower price. I think the tsavorite ring will be a real beauty and a very fun ring.

Sharon, I am glad you are celebrating with me – great idea to buy a cool pair of shoes.

We had Thundersnow today. Fun! I had about 2” of very wet snow on my car when I left work. We could have 5” by Friday.

Have a great evening and day tomorrow. :wavey:
Marcy / Curby

Marcy, Come visit me. It will be in the high 60's tomorrow and 70's on Friday. I also think thunder snow is cool. We don't get it often but I love when we do. I'm sure Kristie is laughing at me right now about getting so excited that we could hit 70 degrees. Is Singapore a sure thing for Marty? If not when will you need to make a decision. I used to think one of the reasons my husbands was fine with me not continuing to work was it would be easier to get me to move to London if I wasn't working. My neighbor was outside Sunday. I thought about going outside but thought I should wait until I was cooled down a little. I don't want this to be a big deal. I just want them to apologize and not start fires right next to my trees. They really are nice people.

Sharon, What a fun pair of shoes. I went to DSW today looking for sandals.

Woohoo Kristie!!! So happy for you!!! We cannot wait to see Bubbles and her delicious new setting. Thrilled it worked out this way after Mr Wink dropped the ball. YAY for Andrew and Ashod saving the day. :appl:

I hope Luxury Bazaar gets back to you about that Tsavorite. That is a fun ring! They got back to you pretty quickly about the Bulgari ring...if you don't hear from them by today can you call them on the phone? What about my idea of offering the amount we discussed for both of the rings?

Junebug, any developments re Grace's rings? I am on pins and needles seeing what you decide. I love the mahenge spinel and it looks to be great finger coverage.
The weather here has been great and hoping it continues for the weekend though it is going to rain here on Friday that's OK. Fingers crossed we have good weather this weekend!

No word from Grace about my earrings that were supposed to be shipped out yesterday and I think that means they were not shipped yesterday. I was hoping to have them in my hot little (haha not so little unfortunately) hands by Friday but looks like I have to adjust those expectations. Hoping we have some new NIRDI bling to hold me over...Bubbles making her arrival by then perhaps... :naughty:

Jimmianne, HA, glad I am inspiring you to post more pics and videos. I just checked out your latest 2 minute production and I have to say I am even more in love with Joy than before if that is possible. Bea wants to play with her and cannot wait for her visit. Can Puff come too?

Callie, Thank you and I'm so glad you are not upset with me for voicing how I feel. Do you have any plans for today?

Sharon, love your purchase and I second Kristie's suggestion at getting another pair. They look very comfy and stylish. A winning combo.

Marcy, Thundersnow. 5" by Friday wow. I see Callie has already invited you to visit her if you want to escape the weather but if that falls through you and Marty have an open invitation to visit us here. We are planning a beach getaway this weekend if the weather prediction of sunny and pleasant holds true. Just saying. :cheeky: We have 2 tandem bikes yanno.

How was work yesterday? I could use some of your busy work day here because I have been deadly slow at work the last week or so and I am honestly concerned for my job. Unfortunately 4 days of coverage where we used to only have 2 is proving to be too much coverage right now.

I don't know what to do. If I should approach the clinic head or wait and see if the pattern continues. I mean I cannot sit around all day seeing 2 or 3 patients only. First of all it is so dull and second of all the clinic cannot survive paying 2 of us to see the same # of patients one of us can see. Ugh. I was concerned this might happen as they doubled the coverage without doubling the patient base and now I am the one with the problem since Ellen has already been booked her days since she has been there 7 months without me there and booked her days up through the next year as we book far in advance and I come back and she has all my patients. :blackeye:

For the patients who advocate for themselves they have already expressed the wish to see me and were rebooked for my schedule. However many (most) cannot advocate for themselves and see whoever they were originally booked for and that is Ellen since I was gone for 8 months.

And that is why when I woke up at 3:30 AM this morning I could not fall back asleep. Sigh. I keep repeating to myself I cannot control what I cannot control and stressing is counterproductive. After all I have been through I cannot let this stress me out. Trying to keep this in perspective as best I can. I am very sad but in a way I feel the universe has been trying to tell me something since Jan 2014 and maybe I am not listening hard enough. IDK. One hurdle after another but none of this is life threatening so need to keep it in perspective. Thanks (as always) for listening.

Hope the rest of your work week goes smoothly Marcy and sorry for the minipostjack!

Orsi, I sent you an email and just saying hey here and sending more ***DUST*** and good energy and hugs your way. Keeping you in my thoughts!

What a great idea, Sharon!
I think we should all follow suit and buy shoes & bags to celebrate Marcy's success!

Missy, when I did gov't work they always over-hired. It was awful. Mind numbing to be stuck without work. I hope something can be resolved so you are busy enough to be happy there.
By the way, you can send Bea for a visit and I will video her... :naughty:

Marcy - how exciting to have more beautiful snow headed your way. Be safe out on the road. Are you stocking up on good food for the event? Don't forget the ice cream!

Callie, thank you for the compliments on my Joy postings. I've started trying to do the same thing for my other rings and the Old European cut is by far the most rewarding to mess around with.
I have not started cleaning up my gardens yet, but did buy some plants this week - lavender, rosemary and a gardenia. One of my dreams it to have a rose garden. Do you have roses?

I can't wait for all the NIRDI bling to come in. Everyone is just on the edge of having new things to show. It's going to be like 4th of July when it all arrives!
Az - especially happy to know Bubbles is on her way home!

Yes, dust to you, Orsi.
Come back soon to the dark and shiny side of life!

Ah missy, sorry to hear about the situation at work, and that you're stressed about it. I know it's hard not to worry about things like this. I think maybe I'd just wait a while and see what happens. I hope you're feeling better about it soon.

Can't wait to see those earrings!

The rings are on Grace's smugmug now, don't know prices. I'm having trouble with email with Grace, I might call to find out pricing. She might not have a price for the spinel yet because the stone is being graded.

http://jewelsbygrace.smugmug.com/NEW-ARRIVALS

Marcy, oh my gosh, snow?? Will spring never come? lol! I really hope the weather improves soon, it has to! The recipe I tried last night came out ok, but it was a skillet recipe and the chicken came out a bit dry - but it also had veggies and cheese, so was still pretty tasty.

Jimmianne, love the videos of Joy!

Kristie, yes, we're finally having some warmer weather here on the East coast. What a joy to be able to go outside without a coat, I love it! Looking forward to seeing Bubbles, and any other purchases you make! The rings are on Grace's site now, link above. That pad looks huge!

Hi NIRDIs! :wavey:

Callie, I’m on my way – leave the light on in the window it’s going to be late when I get there. I’ll honk my horn in front of your neighbor’s house and wake him up! Marty and his boss offered up Marty on the Singapore project for 2 years. He would go 3 times (beginning, middle and end) for 2 months each time; and then run the project remotely when he is home. I told him I’d be okay with that. I understand why it worked out for you and Jeff for you not to work. I know Marty often wants me to come with him on a trip but I’d have to take vacation and he’d be working so then when he wants to take a vacation I’d be out of time. Did you go to London then? I think I’d like that trip; some of the other places Marty goes not so much. Enjoy your nice weather for me.

Missy, you and Kristie are opening my eyes to more bling sites plus the idea of offering less money than requested. More bling for all! I am so excited for your earrings; I can’t wait to see them. After I leave Callie’s house I’ll head towards your beach house. I am so excited. I love the ocean. Of course I have to be back here by Sunday so I can fly off to Kristie’s neighborhood. Glad you are having nice weather. I am sorry you are slow at work. You’re appointments in the future will eventually catch up; do they give you new patients now as they call in? Hopefully that will start to increase your patient load. I am sure it will get better. You have to be everybody’s favorite. A friend of mine had on her frig a little note that I thought was great “#1. Don’t sweat the little stuff. #2. In the end it’s all little stuff.” Work was a slight improvement today. One more day to go then I’m on vacation.

Jimmianne, I think everyone should buy something to help me celebrate! Good plan. Or is it that we’ll all find any excuse we can to justify buying something? I like the variety of plants you bought. A rose garden would be fabulous! I could come take pictures; I love to shoot macro shots of flowers. At our old house I ordered a black rose bush from that Michigan Bulb Company – I was very excited to have such a different color; those suckers were bright pink. I always called them my black rose. Do you have a video posted of your European cut?

One more day of work. Yippee. We had several more inches of very wet snow today and freezing fog. They had an awful wreck about 20 miles west of town with about 60 vehicles. By the time I came home it was just wet but the morning will be icy again. If it’s too bad I’ll have Marty drive me to work.

Have a great evening.
Marcy

Marcy, that wreck was on the national news tonight, really scary looking.

I plan to shop for shoes tomorrow to celebrate your promo and raise  Dillard's and Nordie's here I come.

I do plan to avert my eyes as I pass purses and accessories, though!!!!!

Ovi, dust and hugs to you! Thinking about you, girlfriend!

Jimmianne, the Joy pics are joyful! How can a diamond be so colorful and glow-y???

Forgot to add - love those shoes Sharon! Really cute

Junebug, we must have posted at the same time. I usually believe we are done with snow about the 5th of June. The snowflakes a while ago were amazing. Some of them were over and inch. They are really wet too. I hope you reach Grace about the spinel ring. You chicken dish sounds great. Marty made patty melts and oven fries for supper.

Kristie, I can't believe they had the accident on national news. I'll have to find the video. Have fun shopping. I'm so glad I am spurring on all this shopping. Now you guys can blame me! I am getting an urge to buy a new purse too.

Off to see how the snowflakes are doing. They are coming down horizontally because it's usually windy here. When a friend of mine moved to Pennsylvania she called me the first time it snowed to tell me how weird it looked to see snow coming straight down.

Missy, I hope you are feeling better. I'm sure this will work out. You are so good with people. Your manager knows what a good employee you are. I can't wait to see your new earrings. Do you plan on biking over the weekend?

Marcy, Tomorrow it will be 76 degrees here. The light is on and your room is ready! The company offered to pay for me to go to London many times. I never went. It was difficult when I was working and as soon as I quit we got the furbaby. I'm sure I will go one day, if I ever get over my fear of long flights over the ocean! Please be careful driving tomorrow morning. The weather sounds terrible. When will the weather finally stay nice. You have had a heck of a long winter. I spoke to my aunt today in Colorado. It was snowing there. Has Marty decided to accept the Singapore offer? Where are you going on vacation.

Jimmianne, I have about 65 Rose Knock Out bushes. They are so beautiful and bloom all summer long. So yes, I definately have a rose garden. How is Joy today. I saw the new video. I love your video's. Have you always been this great with a camera? You can tell you are having a great time making the videos. You are so good at it. I smile the whole time I watch them. I'm so happy Joy has brought you so much joy!

Junebug, Those rings are beautiful. Do you think one of them may be in your future or are you still considering the yellow diamond? I see you are still enjoying cooking.

Kristie, Have fun shoe shopping! How on earth can you go to Nordstrom and not stop in the handbag department! Ann Taylor has a pair of shoes I think I will love. I need to stop in and try them on. I love the new ring! You girls are making me so jealous. You all are getting beautiful rings and I'm buying evergreens! Talk about a let down!

OV, I hope you are doing better and things are going well for you!

Miss Callie, I was very excited to read that you have so many rose bushes!
I have a few tucked away here and there and they bring such great pleasure, it would be OTT fabulous to have so many.

Are they all planted in one place? What colors do you have? I have only seen red - is red the color of "Knockouts"?
What special kinds of things do you have to do for them? Do you have to spray for those annoying rose diseases? Do you have deer to contend with?

I've had a blast making those videos with one more "up my sleeve" and that's after the sun comes out, which may be a while.
Funny thing is I have hardly worn Joy yet, only to food shop & visit the hardware store : ) my friends haven't seen her. So far she is more like a curiosity to be photographed. LOL

Interestingly, I feel comfortable wearing her in public here, where the cultural norm is a smaller stone...it is like she is natural part of me so I don't feel self-conscious.

Puff says good morning and sends everyone a peck on the cheek

Good Friday morning NIRDIs!!! Woohoo it's almost the weekend and so far the weather is looking good for (many of) us. :appl:

Kristie, I am so excited for you to receive your 2 new bling beauties. Please please post pics of them both. You really cheered me up yesterday afternoon with the purchase. LOL I'm easy that way I guess.

And thank you again for those potential zircons for my earrings...cannot wait to get more info on that. It would be great to be able to wear those earrings.

Jimmianne, love the new videos. As everyone has already said JOY is beautiful in every way and she likes to show it too.
Extra kisses and hugs from me to Puffy boy.

Ovi, more hugs being sent your way!

Junebug, I love those rings you are thinking about on Grace's site. She told me she is crazy busy right now and that Easter set her back because her bench person was on vacation so, give her a call about the ring(s) and talk to her in person if you can. I love them both but that spinel pear well that color, that shape, that size I think would be perfect on your hand.

Marcy, haha OK we will all buy something to help you celebrate. I am going to hand the phone over to Greg now so you can have a chat with him about that. :cheeky: I would like to get that blue zircon ring that Junebug is passing on because she already has something similar. I'm dialing you now. 8)

Be careful driving. I hate that there was such a huge accident. That weather is treacherous. Please be extra careful and yes let Marty drive you if need be. And then after you visit Callie c'mon over to us this weekend at the beach house. The beach house will be all clean by the time you get there because our cleaning crew is coming tomorrow morning. I love a freshly cleaned house. The poor kitties however will be traumatized as we are staying there with them this weekend and they will be there when the cleaning people are there. It's just too nice a weekend not to go for both days. What cocktail would you and Marty like upon your arrival?

Are you going anywhere (besides to visit Callie and me that is lol) this vacation? I'm sorry if I missed it but this thread does move quickly at times. How long are you on vacation? Hope your spring arrives way before June.

Callie, I am feeling much better thank you. My new earrings are delayed because Grace is so busy and her bench person/bench people were on vacation but she hopes to send the earrings to me for Saturday delivery. We won't be in Brooklyn but I prefer it be shipped there because we have a 24 hour doorman and I don't want to be waiting at the beach house for delivery as we have cycling to do this weekend hopefully! I am hoping the earrings will be waiting for me when I return from the beach house this weekend however. Something to look forward to. :appl:

I love that you have so many rose bushes on your property. I love roses. They are so beautiful and smell good. Can you tell us what other plantings you have? I love hearing about everyone's garden being that I am such a city girl and have no green thumb at all. I am in awe of you girls who do have a green thumb.

We only have a few rose bushes and I would like more. We also have lilies, rhododendrons, daffodils, tulips, hydrangeas, azaleas, hostas, acubas, sycamore trees, cherry trees, a couple of oaks, some type of spruce trees (hardy during storms and that is why we replanted with them) that we planted in place of the other evergreen trees that were killed with the storm whose name I forget right now. Greg and the gardener we have do all the planting so I am not very knowledgeable about that but I sure love the rewards of a beautiful planting. And I appreciate the hard work that goes into keeping things healthy and beautiful. Speaking of which any update on the neighbor? He has had time to notice the burnt side of the tree by now.

YAY for Jeff coming home tomorrow! You must have missed him like crazy and I am so glad he will be home soon. :appl: And in time for the lovely weather. Enjoy the weekend with him Callie!

Thank you all for your good wishes about work. At the end of my workday yesterday I decided I had to speak to the chief administrator of the clinic. I just couldn't wait and see as that is not my personality as much as I wish it was at times. So I just stopped by his office where he was eating and I asked if that was a convenient time as I wanted to talk with him and he said it was fine and as long as it didn't bother me that he was eating.

I told him what was on my mind that they brought me back to see my patients and then left all my patients on the other doctor's schedule (Mon and Fri) and left my Wed/Thurs schedule not filled at all. I also said that I don't want to be scheduled with all new patients because I have seen my patients for 14 years though and would like to continue and that is why they supposedly brought me back. He said he would look into it and said he was glad I brought it to his attention.

My higher functioning patients who know I am back have already rescheduled themselves with me. However the majority of my population there cannot advocate for themselves and that is why it is necessary for the staff to take care of the schedule.

We shall see if this was a good move or not. But I did all I could do and now the ball is in his court. If he makes this right I am thrilled to stay and see my patients. If not I know I have done all I can and will tender my resignation. I don't want to and hope it works out. The main issue is that the other doctor has been there for 7 plus months without me and already scheduled her days through 2016 with my patients and each time she sees my patients she schedules them to see her again so you can see it is a vicious cycle. That requires the staff to reschedule the patients from her days to my days and then schedule her with new patients (we are expecting many new patients as some big groups have merged due to medicare and medicaid budget cuts) when they are available.

I just hope he really heard me and understands what I want. I was clear but sometimes he has a way of hearing what he wants to hear. I guess time will tell and then I will know if I have a future there or not. I will be sad to leave as it is a rewarding though very challenging place to work and almost all the clinicians I was friendly with have already left in 2014 and the beginning of 2015 (and in fact by May no one will be left that I was close with at the clinic as my last good friend there just gave notice) due to all the EMR/EHR changes but mainly because of the way our clinic is run. Which is challenging in itself due to the chief admin and I won't go into that any further.

The reason I am hoping I can stay is I get along with him just fine (at least up till now) and I enjoy seeing my patients. But it will all change if he cannot do what I am asking him to do which is what they promised me when they promised they were holding my days for me. I am not asking for anything I was not promised during my recovery.

Whew, I am sure most of you could not read all that I wrote about work but thank you if you did and sorry I tend to go on and on...I write like I talk so perhaps you want to reconsider visiting me but I promise I do come up for air occasionally.

Just had a thought that I should share this. I may have shared parts before. Yesterday I found out that my Mom's estate closing will be extended to September due to the audit not being finalized yet. So 3 years from her death to closing the estate. The IRS agent isn't even returning phone calls either to me or the attorney so we don't know why the audit has not been signed off on. Aside from the stress, this means that the inheritance is still sitting in a very low interest account - so - in effect, losing money, and of course I don't have access to it. The audit can't be helped, but other estate planning can.
My mother always told me that I would not have to go through probate because she had taken care of everything, but it was NOT taken care of. The attorneys set up a trust but she never transferred anything into it : (
So first we went through probate and then the darned audit came along.

So - this is a reminder to broach this subject with your parents if you can. Maybe telling them what your friend is going through?
So for my estate, I have put everything I own in a trust. And when I buy something - like Joy - it automatically goes into that trust. "I" don't own anything. But who knows?? will my daughter discover after my death that it didn't work the way I thought it would?

So, sorry for this boring post, but if it helps any of you at all...

Missy,
I'm glad to hear you talked about your concerns with the chief. I hope he really did hear you! You are such an asset to them they should be bending over backwards to be sure you and your patients are together. Best of Luck!!!

Oh - I would be on a plane to CA to pick up my earrings! lol
I'm glad you are having nice weather for the weekend and that you will come back to the city to a special package! I am in love with your earrings and want first dibs should you ever decide to go floral again!

My wish list from Grace : rose cut bangle, earrings and dbty with OECs.

I don't like flying either. It would make life so simple! I could come visit each of you "just for lunch", hop over to Grace's, and spend an afternoon at Rhino's.

Grey & rainy. I think we are getting someone elses weather this weekend.

Aww Jimmianne, I am sorry about what you are going through re your mother's estate. What a pity especially because she thought she was helping you to avoid all this mess. I hope it gets sorted out sooner (though that is all relative at this point ::) ) rather than later and finally you can get what is yours. ((Hugs)). And thank you for the reminder and info about estate planning and trusts. Greg and I have everything in order I think as do my parents but who knows. As your story shows sometimes the best of intentions don't pan out. I could go into a long drawn out story about my grandfather and how royally he messed up with all of this (and he was a CPA) but I will spare you the details. Needless to say my parents and my aunt and uncle got screwed (sorry but that is the best word to describe what happened here) and the government got most of my grandfather's estate but because of his mistake and refusal to face reality.

Sending you ***DUST*** for a successful and final resolution soon!
