Now I really did it :((

WHY are you even hesitating? IT'S SO GORGEOUS! (sorry, I yell when I'm excited) That is a world class beauty. Seriously, I love it. Right hand ring, absolutely. It's a beauty.:love:I like the black, I like the stones, I like the classic setting, the finger coverage, I like everything about it. :clap:Seriously. Drool and I'm totally jealous. Don't give it another moment's thought, just enjoy it. :appl::appl::appl:

Haha thank you iLander! IDK why! Remember it took me 5 (count em 5!) years to realize Greg was my one and only! So I am slow OK. I have to accept that. I am slow to realize things at times and slow to know my own darn mind! Thank you thank you for your encouragement and advice!!!

WOW Missy! Just WOW!

Wonderful narrative Rainwood and nice to hear you are well JA! Hope your sledgehammer is kind to you! :)

Hello NIRDI's:wavey:

cheers--Sharon

I agree with everything iLander said. The ring is beautiful Missy!!!!

Missy that ring is SOOOO gorgeous!!! Love it so much!:love::love:

Thank you Sharon! And Callie and Junie!

This is for Kristie special request. LOL HRH was very cooperative just now for her Auntie Kristie.:halo:

hrhfrancescawearingherclustercrown.jpg

I need advice as to which finger and hand to size it to because originally I wanted it sized for middle finger right hand. But my knuckles swell and it just is so sensitive so now IDK what the best option is. Ring finger right hand? Or index finger right hand? Either way it needs to be resized so I would like to make the best choice. Pinto feels that the index finger is best for a navette ring but I think it could look pretty on that finger. I just don't really know or see a clear winner regarding which finger. Rainwood pointed out that I might bang it more on my right hand and that is a good point. That would leave the only option to be the index finger of my left hand but then it competes with Bea.

I am not going to wear it every day but I'd like to wear it more often than not. Or maybe I just size a bit bigger and leave where I initially intended. Middle finger right hand and if it is bigger it won't have to squeeze over that knuckle irritating it so much. LOL sorry to go on about this which finger issue but I am seeing Adam on Monday and want to know before then.

Kristie, hope that HRH Maggie had a good night and so did Finn. Thinking of all the NIRDI fur babies and I am my furry crew are sending them lots of purrs and kisses.

One last pic taken just now of the ring on my right hand ring finger.

clusteronrighthandringfinger.jpg

and just 2 more pics showing the other options as to which finger which hand should I size her to...

beavsclustershowdown.jpg

and on middle finger right hand.

middlefingerclusterringpic.jpg

Haha one last photo. HRH is examining it and deeming it acceptable. :cheeky: She (and I am too) is bowled over by the gorgeousness of each OEC. Very chunky and bright. The photos don't do it justice especially with the hazy sun fuzzing the details but I thought you'd enjoy HRH getting in on the action.

hrhexaminingclusterring.jpg

Thanks for looking and sharing your thoughts. Have a good Saturday girls.:wavey:

:love::love: I knew it'd be GORGEOUS on that gleaming black fur:appl::appl::appl:

I like it on rh middle finger, it makes for an blingie bird there:P:lol-2::mrgreen:

It does look great on your index finger, though...

As long as thing ring is on your hand I dont see how you good wrong with either finger!
Missy it's beautiful!

Mister Missy,

No way does cutey culet cluster compete with Bea! Bea is a star!

I like it on the right hand middle finger! Whatever feels most comfortable to you though…it's so beautiful it looks good on any finger

Missy, just realized tonight is your formal event! Sending good wishes that you have a nice time!

Missy, Have a great time at the gala!! Hope you get to see the Hope Diamond without the crowds!!

I vote right hand, but won't choose a finger. Whichever finger feels the most comfortable to wear it on is the right choice.

I'm here at the island and have heat, but more importantly, sunshine. Most stuff is working which is all I ask these days. Have some fun things planned for Sunday and will give you more details later.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words on the photos. I've joined Instagram and am vowing to post at least one good photo a day. So far, I'm posting way more than that, but I enjoy both taking photos and, being a word nerd, I also like coming up with the titles for them.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Missy, Can I vote? Middle finger right hand and don't worry about bumping. Just insure and enjoy.
Btw I love it and it looks so perfect on you.

Well, I just uncovered the first rock in my kitchen wall. I kid you not- it's 45" x 35"! It must be a cornerstone for the church I share the wall with.
It's cold and rainy here but I'm ecstatic anyway. So many fun projects in the works and my 40 hour French course starts on Tuesday. Pray for me lol

Today is the vote in France. Pray for France too!

Ps. rainwood I hope to find you on Instagram!

Good Sunday morning girls!
Thank you Kristie, Callie, Junie, Pinto (hahaha), Rainwood and Jimmianne!

Junie, thanks for the extra good wishes for the gala. I appreciate that so much.

Bonjour Jimmianne! So happy to see you here and on IG. I feel like you are right here with us. Thank you for weighing in on the ring issue. I am leaning towards the middle finger right hand. My big concern and is my knuckle and I hope Adam can figure it out if my solution doesn't work. My thought is to increase the ring size so it goes easily over that knuckle but then add sizing beads so it fits my finger. Right now it fits the finger (albeit slightly loose) but it irritates the knuckle cause my knuckle is so much bigger and I cannot wear it this way. I really hope Adam can figure it out for me or I won't be able to keep the ring and it would make me so sad cause I really love the ring.:( It's romantic but edgy. (Like me or my wanna be version of me hahaha).

Praying for the France election to turn out well!!!

Rainwood, I found you on IG! YAY. Your photos are just gorgeous. I hope you don't judge mine too harshly. I dont know what I am doing. I just point and shoot. But I really am enjoying your beautiful photos. You have a real talent and I appreciate you sharing it here with us. Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for the ring advice!

The evening at the Museum was fun. We ubered it in and at the end of the evening we all had cars waiting for us to whisk us back home. So easy.

Cocktails in the dinosaur room and dinner and dancing in the Whale room. We had a "whale" of a good time. (Sorry I couldn't resist lol).

OK as promised (see Callie I always keep my promises!:P) some photo commemoration of the evening. We only took a few but the few we took were all for you girls! And sorry but most of them are of the dinosaurs because I LOVE the dinosaurs and I might have taken too many of them but they are so sweet and much more interesting to look at than Greg or I.

OK first up-us leaving to go to the gala. Photo credit to Michael our wonderful doorman.:halo:

missyandgreggalamay2017.jpg

Greeted by the dinosaurs. Ooh scary. T-Rex had a crush on Greg.:cheeky: But hey with my dh looking so handsome in his tux who wouldn't?

Then dinner and dancing in the Whale Room. Who doesn't love the Whale? His name is Wally by the way. I know Marcy would want to have that info.:cheeky:

whaleroomdinneranddancing2017.jpg

and one last photo. At the very end of the evening right before we left to go home. Both tired but it was a fun gala once again. I have to add my favorite gala was when the firm rented Ellis Island for the evening. That I will never forget but that was almost a decade ago. Usually the gala is at the museum and it is always lovely no matter where it is.

Have a wonderful Sunday girls and hope to hear all about your weekend too.:wavey:

Missy, Your photos are beautiful. So glad you and Greg had a wonderful time last night.

Hope you and Greg had a great time!! Missy I'm gonna say I like it in the ring finger on your right hand. I do really love the oxidiz d metal though. How is it feeling today?

Last night we had dinner with the in laws and lucas spent most of the night after sitting at the piano trying to figure out the piano theme from La La Land on my in-laws old unused baby grand. We had to scotch tape the cover so it wouldn't slam on his fingers. He just started taking lessons after we saw that for the past year he has been trying to learn off YouTube. We've got a demo today where the kids martial arts team is performing. Then we are off to reserved seating for guardians of the galaxy. This saves me from having to be there an hour early. I need to work out so I don't I bite anyone's head off. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi Nirdis!

Missy, I'm glad you had a good time! Your pictures are great, thank you for posting them, makes me feel like I was there lol. You and Greg look fabulous.

Great news about being reimbursed for the moisturizer! Those pumps can be a pain, I've had trouble with them not working too. It's good the company is looking into it. I hope Adam can figure out how to size the ring for you so that you can get it on and off comfortably. Sizing beads are a good idea. It's sooo gorgeous!!!

Marcy, I know what you mean about Marty traveling…dh has been traveling a lot too, all we can do is put on our big girl pants and make the best of it! I find that time passes so quickly these days anyway. It's nice your friend stopped by, and even better that she brought wine ha! I'm glad Marty is back, and lol to the pillows and target practice! Yes, you must get revenge somehow haha.

Rainwood, I'm so glad you were finally about to go to Rancho la Puerta after so many years. It looks and sounds like a very relaxing and rejuvenating place. I'm glad that your stay helped you gain some valuable insight and a new perspective on your life. Congratulations on finding an eating plan that works for you! It's great it hasn't been difficult to make changes and you're seeing results. I think it's very healthy to have a creative outlet and I'm very glad you are finding that in photography. Your pictures are beautiful! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I'm on IG but not that familiar yet with how it works, so I'll try to find you.

Glad you have both sunshine and heat at the island! Who could ask for more lol - hope you are having a good time there.

Kristie, I'm so sorry Maggie is still struggling, and that Finn seems to be the object of her frustration these days. I so hope that the acupuncture and new meds help ease her pain, I feel so badly for her and I know it's tough on everyone.

I've cut myself off from bling buying for now (cue the sad music! :boohoo:) so I'd be happy to look around for a diamond band for you. At least I can go shopping lol. What size are you again? And congrats to Bob for being the big winner! Great idea to get the camera for the car, it's definitely good for peace of mind.

CJ, I love rye bread too. Very flavorful and great texture. I like using it for grilled cheese sandwiches. Ok, now I'm hungry lol! Hope you had a good weekend.

Jimmianne, so glad you are having a wonderful time! I can tell by your post that you are really happy. Good luck with your French lessons, it sounds like you'll learn a lot.

Hi Sharon! Hope you're doing well my friend!

Not much going on around here, just heading out to the grocery store in a bit and doing some laundry. Hope everyone is having a good day so far! xox

eta - LLJsmom, we were posting at the same time! It's great Lucas is interested in learning to play the piano. I think it's a great idea for him to take lessons too. I bought myself an inexpensive keyboard a few years ago and tried learning to play some things using youtube and it was really, really hard! Maybe it's easier for young people, my son has basically taught himself how to play guitar using the computer. I keep telling him he should take lessons but of course he doesn't listen to me! Sounds like you have a busy day planned, have a good time!

Hey Missy, I hope you don't mind that I pop in from time to time.

I love your pics from the gala. What a beautiful couple you are! You and Greg always look so happy in your pictures. You can really tell you two are head over heels in love .

Your new ring is gorgeous Missy. I wanted to make a suggestion for the shank. Have you thought about having a Superfit shank put on your ring? They are made specifically made for people with joint issues. It might be worthwhile to look into if you want to wear it on your middle finger.

Hi! Holy Lots of NIRDI Posts!

Rainwood, I really like “a wandering mind is an unhappy mind”. I like your creative approach to life; especially having it stored it photographs. That is interesting about skipping breakfast. If I don’t eat anything I can wait until well after lunch before I even get hungry. If I eat breakfast I am starving before noon. Congratulations on losing 10 pounds with a change in your eating habits. Great pictures!

Kristie, oh no that Maggie attacked Finn again. That must be so scary for all of you. I hope Finn is okay. I hope the acupuncture helps Maggie this week.

Jimmianne, I am delighted to hear you and your brain cells are so excited and happy to be there.

June, hope you are having a nice weekend. Yes we must put on our big girl pants when our DH are away working but that doesn’t mean we can’t look at bling online to amuse ourselves. Ha!

Missy, your cluster ring is so pretty. I think the dark background makes the diamond pop and the setting is very classy. Bea shouldn’t worry or be jealous though because she can hold her own in a beautiful diamond ring contest. I think it looks great on any finger; it depends on which find you’ll enjoy seeing it and which finger it feels comfortable on. Great pictures with HRH. The gala looks nice and like it was a lot of fun. LOL at “whale” of a good time. You and Greg look fabulous.

Hi iLander, Callie and Sharon, PintoBean.

LLJsmom, that’s great Lucas enjoys playing the piano. Enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy. We might sneak out sometime this week to see it.

Poodles4me, I think my mom had some of those superfit shank in her rings. She had large joints from arthritis and they worked well for her. Good idea!

Not much new with me. My SIL has been here this weekend. I worked on stuff around the house, Marty and my SIL played golf and we did some shopping. It was 82 here yesterday so yes Rainwood’s nice warm weather moved our way. Thanks! Marty went out about 10 pm last night to get our AC plugged in to turn on and cool down the house.

Take care and have a fabulous day.

Marcy

Great pics of the Dino Gala, Missy! Glad you guys had fun

Junie, I need the band to be size 7.5 to 8.5. Depending on where I put it in my stack, that's my size range here. It should be 2 mm. Thank you for shopping for your buddy Kristie!!! I might've found a band at Israel Rose and I requested a pic but haven't received it. I'll email again to ask again.

Hi Marcy and Rainy! Maggie sees her internist vet tomorrow and starts acupuncture Tuesday. Its been almost 3 days with no attacks on Finn, I hope this holds. I figured out she goes for him from referred aggression when odd noises happen or she freaks out/anxiety.

Kristie, I feel your emotional pain regarding the attacks. It's so hard to know what the triggers are and when it will happen. Our oldest dog has food aggression. I finally thought I had everything under control and then we got our youngest dog and suddenly there was another set of triggers. It's terrifying to witness and a couple of times I thought she was going to kill her little sister. I hope the acupuncture helps. In desperation I started Mitzi on acupuncture and it really helped her. And she loves it. There are various calming points they can stimulate. I don't know the back story with Maggie but I know she's dealing with pain (is it her back?) and they become so unpredictable when they are hurting. As it turns out Mitzi has back issues that I was unaware of which made her aggression worse.

To other NIRDI's - although I pop in infrequently, I like hearing about your lives and think you are great group of women :)).

IMG_20151027_121313.jpg

Poodles 4, thank you for sharing that with me. Yes, the FIGHT is so scary!!! Its loud and violent and you're trying to save the victim but not hurt your other dog at the same time.

Lovelovelove the pic of sweet Mitzi having her treatment!!! :wavey::saint:.

Maggie goes on Tuesday, will report in! We had imaging, a full spine (no problems) and right knee (arthritis) so we have good data that way. Her tail is also an arthritic mess, it was broken either in utero or while being born. I told my DH to quit grabbing her by her tail and now he knows not to!!!!

Hi Lovely Nirdi Ladies (and any lurking Nirdi gentlemen).

The last few weeks have been absolutely crazy, between travel and catching up from travel and work and houseguests and the dental work (all fine now) and kids coming and going between college and other things, and I haven't had a second to catch up. I hope all is well with everyone (and pets and spouses and children) and am planning a long catch up in the not too distant future.

Missy - you guys look gorgeous and I love the ring! I have a little spontaneous bling purchase to share when I get back.

Love to all.

Hey Missy, I hope you don't mind that I pop in from time to time.

I love your pics from the gala. What a beautiful couple you are! You and Greg always look so happy in your pictures. You can really tell you two are head over heels in love .

Hi Poodles4me! No quite the opposite...I love it when you pop by and thank you so much for your advice. I spoke with Adam yesterday and he recommended Finger Mate and after seeing your post just now I googled your rec and they look very similar. That is adjustable shanks just for this issue. So I will see him in person today and discuss it further with him. Thank you!

I am so glad Mitzi is doing well with her acupuncture. It is very upsetting when our fur babies start having health issues especially ones that lead to personality changes. Sending Mitzi and her little sister lots of good wishes, healing dust and hugs.

LLJsmom, that is wonderful that Lucas is playing the piano. Hope you had a good run yesterday and a nice evening with your inlaws the other night. Hope the movie was good yesterday. I love reserved seating.

Junie, thank you! How is everything going? Any updates? How is your brother doing?

Marcy that is sweet. 82 degree weather. I am glad you enjoyed the lovely weather and weekend. Nice that your SIL visited and played golf with Marty. Who won? LOL I love your teddy bear pic on FB. Too cute.

Kristie I am going to check the OECs out for you later and I will keep you posted. I hope Miss Maggie had a good night and has a good day today. Sending sweet Finn and Maggie lots of hugs and love.

Jaaron, Hi there and thank you for the lovely compliment. Glad you are well! And nooooo dont keep us hanging re bling purchase! OMG we wanna see!:appl:

So please forgive more ramblings about my hand and ring dilemma. And skip this paragraph if you aren't in the mood.:boohoo:
I have been feeling a bit badly about my hands since Friday. I almost feel like I shouldn't take this beautiful ring because my hands ruin it. I mean the knuckles are just awful-stretched out and ugly. I never realized it as much as I do now because I rarely wear any ring on my right hand. Just my Cartier Opal a few times a year on the right hand ring finger and that is just for a couple of hours. My right hand knuckles are all stretched out and no gorgeous ring will distract from that. So now I am feeling mixed emotions. My index finger has the least stretched out knuckles (of the right hand fingers that are possible ring wearing fingers) and I am just wondering would it look weird to fit the cluster ring to the right hand index finger. I originally wanted it for the right hand middle finger as you know but because the knuckles on the middle and ring finger of the right hand look so ugly maybe I am better off fitting it to the index finger. Unless I decide my right hand just cannot handle any ring on a regular basis and then I don't keep the ring. I have to decide before I see Adam today.

A few more pics taken just now. Trying to capture some close up photos so you can appreciate the chunky monkey facets.

Profile close up. Sorry not the best or sharpest pics.

on left hand ring finger. My left hand knuckles are also stretched out but less so but still not attractive.

OK that's it for pics today. Have a great day girls and see you later.:wavey:

Hey Missy, I will echo what others have said, you have beautiful hands. You do not have man hands and I would not have noticed your joints had you not mentioned them. You have long, slim, gorgeous fingers. The joints in your hands don't look as bad as you think they do. Ring size doesn't tell the full story. I am envious that you have enough finger real estate to wear larger rings. By the way, I have problems with the same fingers. I've never tried wearing rings on those fingers but imagine I'd have the same issues trying to get rings on and off.

Just remember, we are our own worst critics. You need to see what the rest of us see - a beautiful vibrant woman.

On that note, I'm heading back to bed with my girls. It's raining and I'm on antibiotics for a sinus infection so it's a perfect morning for sleeping and reading in bed. I will read more of the thread later.

HI:

Missy, remember Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Raquel Welsh (all splendid beauties IMHO) had knuckles too. (I realize my reference women date me, but wot the heck!)

cheers--Sharon

You and your DH look like a couple of swells! :D

Missy, I am being honest when I say you have lovely hands, I would never have even noticed your knuckles. And your hands are very youthful looking. Of course I will understand and respect any decision you make, but I think the ring looks beautiful on your hand!

Hope you feel better soon Poodles.

This ring looks so beautiful on your hand Missy.

Missy I echo what everyone has said. Your hands are lovely, I wouldn't ever have looked at your knuckles if you hadn't mentioned them and I don't think they look like anything but knuckles. It's like that zit we know is on our face - we think everyone is looking at but no one ever really sees it.
