Hi NIRDI’s!
Missy, it sounds very cold there. Stay safe and warm. We had a few inches of snow and barely got above freezing today. We have fixed a few spots on the floor in the kitchen and also have some of those assorted color crayons to cover scratches. They work pretty good too. Marty was just irritated to scratch the new floor. I have never tried sarsaparilla; I’ll have to give it a shot sometime. I like Sprite when I have a stomach ache. I buy those mini 7,5 oz cans of soda and that is all I have if I want one. i totally know what you mean about uninterrupted sleep; it makes a difference. I get 2 to 4 hours at best of that when I first fall asleep after that I drift in and out. I am sorry to hear you wake up so frequently too. Phooey. Nice that you got some more of those sweaters you like.. Sweet. Good luck finding a nice dress and even better if it’s one in your closet I found a few tops I forgot I had moving things around in my closet. Cute picture of HRH.
Jimmianne, i am a total smart aleck, glad you caught my subtle joke there. I definitely need smarter workers. This friend of mine is very gullible and i have to watch myself because I’ve led her down some deep holes before with my assorted stories. She gets easily upset. My nephew who has also suckered for many of my stories met her one time and they were setting there swapping stores about “and then she convinced me”. When you were out here in my neck of the woods did you hear about jackalope? I had him convinced they were real. Aw darn your DD broke a taillight on your new car. i am with you being glad it wasn’t me. That is definitely some finger coverage; I haven’t thought about a scarf ring for years. I had a few of those when i was in school.
Kate, I totally agree it becomes harder to sleep and the blower on the furnace or AC is exactly what wakes me up and I wear earplugs. That is COLD there. Stupid floaters, huh? I understand sanding down the floors is quite a messy process. I sure like having wooden floors but want carpet in the bedrooms. It keeps kind of surprising me when I walk to the other side of house and the wooden floor doesn’t change in to carpet. Our new rugs are definitely more cushy that what we had before. Of course before I had the non-skid stuff under them and this time we bought pads. I threw one of the new pads out already; the little rugs by the front and back door are so small you still kind of slid on them. No thanks. We cut the one already so it can’t go back but I snagged the other one since it was unopened and will return it. I agree it’s nice to recycle things. I keep trying to find someone to take our old California king bed; everyone who had a king sized bed just has the regular sized mattress though. Thanks for your thoughts on management; I am proud of my team but I sure hate the babysitting side of it. I will pick Marty’s brain on it too. I think it has just become time to rip the bandage off and be direct. Yes, sinus infections are awful and hopefully her new round of meds help her. My BIL and his family live in Alexandria; small world. Nice to have your generator ready to go if necessary. It’s one of those things you never want to need but nice to have if you do need them.
Callie, congratulations on the new baby and furbaby. That is pretty exciting. That is pretty cool to have your DH cleaning with his new vacuum. Maybe Marty will catch that some day. Yes, those first dings are painful. I usually seem to be the culprit though. The video story about your niece is so cute. It’s awesome you are so close to her.
AV, I am just sick thinking about you working on your thesis and having your tablet quit. When I was teaching I lost all of my stuff including grade sheets. Luckily I had a print out of the grades and old versions of most of my labs, tests and work sheets. After that I started backing up to a flash drive frequently.
We slept in today and I even got up before Marty did. I worked at emptying out stuff in our bedroom and closet this morning and Marty hauled a lot of it to our 2 spare bedrooms. We went out for lunch and picked up our area rugs. That was kind of a chore getting them out, the pads trimmed to fit and moving everything back to normal. We like them though. I got laundry done and made the cookies for tomorrow. Marty had a lift off at his gym downstairs and 2 of his clients came over. One if my friend’s sister and the other is a young guy here in the air force. They were going to new personal bests on lifting and did great. I kept her them cheering and laughing. I was making cookies while they were downstairs so I left them a plate of cookies which they all downed. The air force guy happily accepted a baggie to take home for him and his roommate. I think I made a new friend. He gave me a hug.
Take care.
Marcy
