Now I really did it :((

@missy, yeah, I guess it makes sense to have the pub crawl on St Patrick's Day  I am definitely not too swift sometimes! I hope you have a great time. Gorgeous picture! Yes, you're right, perfectionism pays off when it comes to tile work!

@av, I am cheering you on too! You can do this!

@marcy, oh no to the leak, and I'm sorry your computer is giving you problems. Good news about the windshield, it's great you were able to get it fixed so quickly. Sounds like we are having similar weekends LOL!

Sending love and good thoughts to all the nirdis dealing with health issues, (((hugs)))

Typical Sunday here...I went to the gym and plan on watching golf and doing some odds and ends around the house. I hope everyone is having a great day. <3

Oh, here's something I painted recently...just simple decorative painting but I'm enjoying doing it. I have a feeling it's going to be ridiculously huge but I give up in trying to figure out how to resize.

Went through old notes & more reading & polished bits of writing - all at Sunday pace: it was such a quiet day .)

Painting is so fun, @junebug17 ! I haven't set out to make a drawing worth keeping in ages & miss it.

@missy Amin to pub crawls! Paid my respects to a clump of shamrock instead today, but will catch up...

Hi NIRDI’s!

AV, I know you’ll ace your paper. I have faith in you.

Missy, you and Greg look perfect for the St. Patrick’s pub crawl. Sweet. I think Apple Care would probably fix my keyboard but I’m so bad once something breaks I’d rather replace it than fix it. I am getting irritated right now since it won’t add a space unless I use the left side of the space bar. Gorgeous sunrise picture.

Junebug, your painting looks really pretty. That is one skill (of many) that I do not possess. I think this weekend went by way too fast.

My sister, BIL, nephew and his wife came up to visit from Colorado today. We went out for lunch then came back here for brownies and ice cream. It was nice catching up with them.

We might get another blizzard on the 25th and 26th. Noooooooooo!!!!

Marcy

@missy, I hope you had a great time at the pub crawl and that you decided to wear one of your green wigs. Did the weather cooperate today? How are Francesca and Fred doing. Greg sure seems to have mastered the nebulizer with Francesca.

@Sandeek, Sending lots of healing dust and prayers to you. I hope everything goes well tomorrow and you can put all this behind you. You have many people in your corner sending good thoughts. Hugs

@junebug17, WOW Junie you are so talented. Your painting is beautiful! Is this the result of years of practice? You need to attend a sit and sip painting party. Not only would you have a great time but you could also help everyone at the table. Our table was in awe watching the woman fix mistakes. I hope you had a good weekend. I was thinking of you and @marcy as DH was watching golf today. Do you ever play golf with DH?

@Jimmianne, Great news about Mr. Monet!!! You must be so relieved his surgery and follow up appointment went well.

@Tekate, You have a lot of fun things coming up in the next few weeks. It’s great that you have a lot to keep you occupied before Autumn makes her debut. My niece who is expecting was not a great sleeper when she was a baby. One of my friends grandson who is not a great sleeper was giving me ideas to get for the baby just in case he/she is not a great sleeper. I decided to order one for my other niece too as her little one hasn’t been sleeping thru the night. Sleeping isn’t a high priority on her list of things to do.

@marcy, Yes I too am sick of winter but thankfully we are getting some warmer weather tomorrow. I couldn’t believe the picture you posted, thank goidness your brother in-law has a tractor. I hope the snow storms stop stay away from where you are. Friends of ours had a family wedding this weekend. One of their sons and his pregnant wife were supposed to drive in from Denver on Thursday . I’ll find out tomorrow if they were able to attend the wedding. His wife is due early May so I’m wondering if they were able to make it.

@ringo865, I hopeful are doing well with your treatments and they haven’t been too hard on you.

@av , it sounds like you are really making progress on your paper. I’m sure you will be relieved when the draft is complete.

After all the looking at cars we have done I think I’m going to get another car like the one i turned in this past week, Crazy I know. I love the outside of the German cars but feel like I am going backwards technology wise in the German cars. I decided to lease a new model like mine for the next three years and hopefully the German cars will have a better touch screen in their cars 3 years from now. When I was driving to turn in my car I realized how much I love how my car was set up inside and how much more comfortable the inside of my car is inside. @junebug17, I got over the Mercedes quickly. There was no way I was paying $70,000 for a car that will irritate me because I will constanting want to touch the screen. I swear I’m the most boring person alive. He thought I would probably come this conclusion.

This afternoon I went thru a box of old pictures. Found many cute pics of the kids and letters they sent me when they were little. I also found some other pics that bothered me to come across. Some where pictures of my apartments when I was single and pics that were taken when I was In my early to mid twenties. They made me much sadder than I would have expected. It’s hard to see old pics and I so wish I was the same person in those pics. My husband asked why I didn’t just throw the pictures out but somehow I didn’t want to do that. It just all felt so strange having them affect me after all these years,

GM girls!

@junebug17 not silly to think it was Saturday at all! The parade was Saturday after all so quite reasonable to think the Pub Crawl might have been that day too. The BC guys are adamant to have it on the day of the 17th however no matter the day of the week or weekend it happens to be. Weekends draw the largest crowds so as you can imagine I love when it falls on a weekday lol.

I LOVE your painting Junie! It is beautiful and you are so talented.:kiss2:

@AV_ how is the paper coming along? I am super impressed in how much you are achieving and in how disciplined you are. I have no doubt it will be a huge success. Hope the rest of your weekend went well and any time you want to join us in a pub crawl you are so very welcome to come along. It's always lots of fun as the people who attend are the nicest bunch you could ever hope to meet. Solid gold hearts. Good eggs as the term goes. Cream of the crop. Quality individuals. LOL you get the idea. You would be a very welcome addition as would any of the lovely NIRDI ladies.

@marcy aww thank you. Love how social media can immediately connect with others sharing one's activities and experiences in real time. I hear you re frustrating computer issues. Hope it is resolved soon. Oh no to a possible snow storm headed your way. I hope it turns around and decides to leave you alone. Fingers crossed.

@Sandeek sending you buckets and buckets of good luck dust today!!! *****DUST***** and lots of (((Hugs))) and love. Thinking of you and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
@Calliecake yay, congrats on your new car and you already know I think that was the best way for you to go. :appl:Hope you enjoy your beautiful new car and hopefully by the time you are ready to buy all the features you love will be available with a great touch screen. We had a wonderful day thanks.

Thanks for asking about Francesca. Francesca is not improving sadly. I am sure you can underhand how upsetting it is when your beloved furbaby has a disease she may not recover from so I don't have to explain how I am feeling. Hopefully you will never experience something like this. I wish for all of us that all our loved ones live to ripe old ages and die of old age only. I am sorry you came across photos when you were younger that saddened you. I know throwing them away might not be an option you are OK with...sending you gentle hugs.

@Austina hope you had a wonderful weekend.

@Tekate wonderful girl, how was the rest of your weekend? Hoping all is well with you and your darling family and sending you big (((hugs))) and love. Kate the Great. XO.

@Jimmianne I hope Mr Monet is continuing to do well and that you are too.

We had a great time yesterday at the pub crawl. Leaving you with some photos since I know not all of you are on social media and I believe photos were requested.=)

First up a photo right before we left. It was windy so I wanted to get a photo of the wig before it got messed up lol. You can see the chair the kitties have ripped apart lol. Little monsters. Lucky we love them so much! We are overdue reupholstering them so have to get on that. Should buy us a few months of non torn chairs. Maybe.:cheeky:

Thanks for looking and enjoy a good day girls and (((Hugs))).

Off to see my hand specialist soon. Hoping I am healing without complications. I am still in some pain but hoping it is par for the course.

Have a marvelous Monday lovely ladies! And @Sandeek sending so many healing vibes your way and hoping today is a huge success!

@Sandeek thinking of you and praying all is going well.

Just got back from surgeon and there's a problem. I have a 3 mm opening that's bleeding and so I have another week plus of this at least. I actually fainted in his office (so embarrassing) from the blood. OMG. He put steri-strips on the wound and had a splint made so I would be able to keep it immobile and he is seeing me this Wed and then Friday again and then next week too either Mon or Tues. I have an endocrinologist appt next Monday the day he wants to see me so he said I can come next Tuesday probably depending on how it looks friday.

And we just found out that our dear Aunt Carolyn died and we knew it was going to be soon but still we are so upset. Her funeral is probably going to conflict with one of my surgical follow ups so not sure how this is all going to play out. She lived 2 and a half to 3 hours away so it is going to be a whole day affair. She had end stage cancer. So sad. She was a wonderful warm person and we are going to miss her.

Sorry for the unpleasant and sad updates. Hope everyone is doing ok. TTYL.

@Sandeek sending lots of healing dust to you for your big day today. I hope that you have superb and quick healing effects and no side effects.

@missy same for your hand specialist visit. I hope the healing is progressing faster than expected so you can get Bubbalah back on your finger! Love your green wig. The dark roots kinda make it like you dye it that color! Your photo from the beach house – so serene. I had to zoom in cuz I thought that was Greg out there taking a little dip (toooooo cooooollllldddd!)

Really sad about HRH. The photo of Greg nebulizing her was pretty cute though. Healing kitty dust for Francesca and wisdom dust for you guys to know the right thing to do for her and at the right time. (((((hugs))))

@marcy brownies and ice cream are awesome. We had the grown kids over on Saturday for birthdays and brownies and ice cream were the "birthday cake". MMmmmm I can’t wait to see your new pendant. I love the picture of the snow drift at your sister’s place. That looked like our area until last week when it got over freezing and now everything is flooding from the meltage (is that a word?). How are you liking lifting now that you have been doing it for a while? I am on beginner yoga, but I just stumbled on beginner tae chi, which I think I might like better. (tbd)

@junebug17 your painting is amazing! I’m glad you and your brother get along and he seems to be liking his place, making it “home”.

@Austina so great that you got the gates installed (finally after the now show)! Sounds like a nice visit to Blenheim Palace. There are no palaces here in the middle of Upper Midwest USA.

@Tekate Kate the great!! nice to hear you got to keep your original phone numbers. That is stupid that CC, attached to AT&T can’t figure out how to keep your identities within each others’ (same) network. So, eff them, right? Go with Verizon – haha that’ll show ‘em. Antiboiotics don’t work for DSS. At least they’ve never worked when I was on them.

@Jimmianne I hope Mr. Monet is feeling better after the swelling and surgical backlash and is settling back into his normal doggie routine and enjoying being able to see all kinds of lovely things to chase around. You like watching golf – do you play?

@Keeliamira your ring is amazing! I hope things are going okay for you and your migraine has subsided.

@AV_ the countdown to the finale! What will you be doing after your thesis is completed? Those figs look interesting. I’ve never seen them on the tree. Just dried or in a fig newton ;)

@Scandinavian hope everything is going okay in scandinavia (?) Hope your water and mouse issue is getting cleared up. Your dogs are absolutely cute. What kind of birds are those white beauties? And for the competitions, are the dogs supposed to just “point” to them, or do they capture them? Or eat them L

@Calliecake I hope you get the kind of car that you love. Doesn’t matter if it is just like the one you turned in. You like what you like, and that’s all that matters. Sorry about getting sad about seeing pictures from when you were younger. You are amazing now and you are the same person in those pics. Everything we go through forms us into who we are now. Its fine to keep them. But even if you do throw the pictures away, the memories are still with you. I’m sorry that it made you feel so sad, but I hope you can recognize that you are amazing still J

@canuk-gal hi Sharon! Is it starting to get springy in Canada? We still have two feet of snow in most places here, so uhm, not here (MN), but I did see a bunch of robins (like 30), so it’s just a matter of time before it all melts and we get worms and grass and apple blossoms.

@PierreBear hi, hope all is well with you. Keep us updated on your culinary exploits!

Thank you to all of you who have expressed your well wishes, and sent sparkly healing dust to me and kept me in your thoughts over this cancer thing. I have had only one chemo so far, then an "off week". So, this Thursday will be my second chemo - then another "off week". I hope that this second one goes as relatively uneventfully as the first round. The only real troublesome side effect was from the neulasta (given by auto-injection the day after chemo to prompt/stimulate bone marrow production to keep my white blood cells from dropping uber low). It happened one week after the injection, and could be categorized as "bone pain" (a know side effect). It was manageable with Tylenol and advil, but I didn't expect it after 7 days and it was a smidge alarming (and painful). But seemingly resolved now. Hair loss is expected to start and fully complete within a week-10 days from this second round. So... yay. I wore my wigs for several hours over the weekend to acclimate my skull to the feeling of having it on so that I don't rip it off and throw it across the office when I have to wear it for full days at work (can you imagine that!).

I was also finally able to talk to my biological first cousins and tell them of my diagnosis. Our mutual aunt and grandfather had (and died of) cancer, so since there is now at least one cancer diagnosis on every step of our genetic tree from me up, I felt it prudent to let them know. Both of them have daughters, and although I tested negative for the BRCA gene mutation, it could still be a familial thing (genes not mutated). During that convo, I found out that our other aunt has lung cancer and our uncle (husband of the aunt who died of CA) is in the hospital with heart failure. So... that was not good news, but it is good to be in the loop. So, now I gotta reach out to both of them. My uncle has two daughters (that I am not in contact with)... my aunt has no kids.

Have a great Monday everyone (if I didn't mention you by name, it wasn't on purpose.)

oh @missy I'm sorry your finger is causing you (more) problems! That isn't good news. But good that they caught it and early and will now be following the crap out of you (not good, but necessary). Condolences on the passing of your dear aunt. That's hard, even when expected. So sorry about Carolyn. Hopefully you will be able to make either the wake or the funeral, if they have them on separate days.

@missy I was hoping your visit today would have been good news but it will heal even with this setback...I’m glad you made an appointment to get it checked out. No wonder it’s been hurting you. I’m glad you have lots of follow ups to check it’s progress. Don’t be embarrassed about fainting..My oldest son fainted after a shot in the doctor’s office when he was in high school. He was a tall..bruiser of a hockey player and went down like a ton of bricks. Everyone just helped him up and said they see it all the time.

I’m so sorry to hear about your aunt’s passing....I find it always comes as a shock even when you know it’s coming. :kiss2:

I wish I could read all these posts so I could know what’s going on but there’s over 500 pages! I’m going to try! What do the initials NIDRI mean?

Hi @Mamabean, thanks for your good wishes and condolences on our Aunt's passing.

NIRDI= Now I Really Did It.
LOL and it fits.:oops2::lol:

You are always welcome here and no need to read all the previous pages unless you want to. It's like a soap opera. 8-)

@Mamabean I've only dropped in a couple dozen pages ago, and never dared try to take NIRDI from the beginning!

It is a book, isn't it... A very good one .)

@junebug17 Beautiful picture June! really you are talented to the max!

@AV_ very glad you had an easy Sunday!!

@marcy Hi Marcy, how nice that your BIL and family came to visit!! and no no no to more snow! (we are counting the days to leave for Austin to get out of this cold weather!).

@Calliecake Hi Callie, I agree Greg sure did seem to master the nebulizer, I envision losing my hand trying to do that to a kitten! Yes to babies and sleep, I read an article recently that stated parents don't get a good nights sleep for 6 years after they have a child! personally I don't remember those times, may be alcohol? may be dread? or may be age! but any of the ways I am sure it's best left to the dark ages of the 1980s and eary 90s. :) What kind of car did you pick? I was driving my best friends 2019 BMW X3 while in Austin and I found the information in the front windshield ANNOYING, but I suppose I could get used to it.. they have satellite radio and I loved that! It felt bigger to me than my 2013 X3, I had a mercedes E 350? I think and that car could FLY thru corners, seriously good German engineering, but I decided after 6 years I was going to kill myself on 2222 in Austin where it winds around the lake, seriously, I came across a fatal accident on this road, some guy in a Honda with his phone in his hand, it was traumatic, car was smoking, ight there there and then I decided I needed to get rid of the car, I was too old to be speeding like a 16 yr old. got a Lexus, now there is a car that exudes luxury, we only kept that 2 years and traded it in on the X3 which I will keep till the cows come home. :) my brother in law has a Ford Edge, that is a gorgeous SUV and it has every bell and whistle known to man, it parks itself, it talks, its really a beauty, my BIL uses his phone (Iphone) for navigation even though he has that whole thingy for navigation, men.! I will look at the Edge if and when we have to buy a new vehicle, we are buyers not leasers so I usually get stripped down models! xo Callie, I think I know how you felt when you looked at wayback pix.. I look at my exhusbans photo album once every 10 years it seems and I look at me and wonder where she went too... I've had a wonderful life, but the girl I look at was going to join the Peace Corp, make the world a better place, right injustice in the world.. I had dreams.. at this age I no longer dream. :) xoxoxo

@missy Oh no on Francesca's health... oh I send you a hug Missy, I am sorry.. I send you compassion, love and empathy Missy, I know this feeling.. please know I hold you in my heart Missy and Greg of course and Francesca, also her, I love animals, I love people who love animals, and animals make our lives better.. send you healing thoughts, truly.

The pub crawl looked like tons of fun and I love your wig and I love how Greg is all Irished up! you have the neatest friends Missy! truly.

Missy, i am sorry your incision has a hole and is bleeding!!! do they have you on antibiotics as a precaution?? Chris fainted when he was given a shot once in the doctor's office, you are normal, also you may be woozy from blood loss :(

Oh gosh dang on your aunt, having recently lost my aunt I know the sadness here, you must take care of yourself first. Sending you love and a hug, losing our aunts, uncles is losing some of our past.. love you.

@Sandeek I as Missy and Ringo am waiting on good news for you and an update when you can.. you are my hero..

@ringo865 I keep you in my heart and thoughts as you go through your next chemo treatment. Wish I could take this away from you. I have 3 girlfriends who have all been diagnosed with breast cancer, all 3 took different routes, one had radiation but refused chemo, one had radiation after chemo and one had a total full on double masectomy with no chemo etc. All are wonderful today and all are thriving, I expect the same for you.!! All 3 of my friends did not have the BRCA gene either. It's great you are alerting your family because they may not even know about certain genes yet. Keep your wigs coming and again Ringo I truly and with heartfelt words send you a hug and belief in good medicine and friendship to help us along in life. I send you a Kate the GReaT hug. xo

to all the NIRDI empresses I send love and good thoughts for a good week and bling forever!

Kate

Hello lovelies

Happy Monday!

@missy love all the St Paddy’s day photos, the wig looks great. Has it given you any confidence to wear any of your others out?

I’m sorry to hear about your aunt, poor lady, I hope she wasn’t suffering too much. Did she have family who were with her at the end? You know, I’m sure she’d understand if you couldn’t make it, I know you’ll try, but she’ll know you’re thinking of her.

Argh, to your finger being bothersome, I’m glad you got an appointment today, and don’t worry, I’m sure Drs are used to patients fainting, we used to get fainters at the surgery, made the day a bit more interesting :cool2:

How are the pusskats today?

Wow @AV_ that’s great that you’re almost finished, it’s great when the finishing line is in sight!

How’s the weather @marcy , hopefully no more snow? How nice that you had a lovely day catching up with your family, I bet the brownies and ice cream went down a treat :lickout:

What a shame that sparkly glint wasn’t your lost pendant.

Wow, wow, wow @junebug17 Your painting is amazing, you have real talent, it’s beautiful. The colours give it an ethereal, almost vintage look. Will you frame it?

Lots of things to look forward to @Tekate , you’re certainly going to be busy! I’m determined we’ll catch up in Austin in the not too distant future. Thanks for asking about Shirley, she’s hanging in there, just. Only to be expected, you don’t spend 45 years with someone and not be completely devastated by their loss. She wants to go home, but I’m not sure she’s ready for that yet.

Hi @Mamabean - I’ve only been a NIRDI for about 2 years I think, I did read from the start, but we’re a chatty bunch, hence the epic tome

I’m so sorry that you found the photographs so upsetting @Calliecake, you can’t not be changed by your past, but you’re a strong woman who has a loving stable marriage, and a family who obviously adores and values you in their lives. Big hugs to you. xxx

Glad you’ve decided on a car, if it’s what you like and want, it doesn’t matter about anything else. I’m with you, I couldn’t justify spending that much money on a car, it’s a piece of metal that gets you from A to B, and as long as it does so safely, it’s all good.

Hi @ringo865 sorry about the unexpected pain you’ve been experiencing, you don’t need that on top of everything else. Good luck with the next round of chemo, everything crossed it’s not too awful.

Sending positive vibes and healing thoughts your way @Sandeek

Well the weather was absolutely vile on Saturday, such strong winds that we were almost at 45 degrees walking back to the car. The sand was whipping up, so much so, I expected to see camels on the horizon! We got round as quickly as possible, then headed for the pub to warm up.

You can see how pleased the pups were when the waitress arrived with the food  (especially my greedy girl)

3C287407-42D9-48AE-8694-0CF1FA96E1B0.jpeg

The gates are working, but the remotes they’ve supplied don’t have a function for opening the gates and leaving them open, and the lights aren’t up. They’re supposed to be coming back later in the week to do that.

We went to the cinema this afternoon and saw Green Book, I can’t recommend it highly enough, such a good film. We particularly like films based on real life.

Plumber is coming tomorrow to fix the shower, yay!

:wavey:

Thanks Austina. Yes my aunt had her DD there with her and was doing home hospice. She was the only one in Greg's family who warmly welcomed me into the family and was a loving and wonderful woman. But she's out of pain now and at peace. It was from diagnosis to death 2 months. The last 2 weeks were bad.

Kitties are OK thanks. Probably bringing Francesca in next Thursday if we can manage between dr appointments and emergencies.

Re the wig when I have more energy to type I'll explain but it was funny.

Yay to plumber coming to fix the shower tomorrow.
Sounds like you had a lovely day and oh Dottie is a beautiful girl. Please hug her from me.:kiss2:

Aww thanks Kate. Yes I'm on Keflex 4 times a day and hoping the wound doesnt become infected. How are you feeling? Thank you for your love and hugs and right back at ya.

Poor Greg is still having to play nursemaid to me. It's frustrating having to basically remain immobile as much as possible and not being able to do the simplest things like cutting my food or washing my hair. But I know this is nothing in the grand scheme of things. I just don't do well with blood in general and the thought of this open wound is bleh.:knockout::sick:

Hope you're enjoying a good day. XO.

@Sandeek thinking of you!!! ((((hugs))).

I think Missy is right...I came over to visit this thread late Jan/early Feb 15 after breaking my hip...man, glad those days are over--I bet you are too @missy! Everyone here was so welcoming & encouraging...which was greatly appreciated during such a challenging time....I'll never forget my NIRDI's for all that love & support!:wavey::appl::love:

We love you Sarah and yes those were challenging times but such is life. Makes things easier to bear when you have people who genuinely care. (((Hugs))).

I believe it was @sarahb who started calling us by that acronym lol. When I started this thread in June 2014 after I broke my tibia and fibula I thought "now I really did it". Gotta laugh or I'd cry. :loopy:
@missy I started reading the posts from the beginning instead of starting at the middle..I have a plan..hahaha..I’m going to read the front and then try to keep up with the back and then sprinkle in some of the middle until I get a gist as to what’s going on! :read: I’m cringing reading about your broken bone..I’m so glad I didn’t know about it when I happened..I get sympathy pains!

We love you Sarah and yes those were challenging times but such is life. Makes things easier to bear when you have people who genuinely care. (((Hugs))).

You are such an angel Missy...love you also! Having you & the NIRDI's to talk to during those days was such a blessing, you all gave much more than you know or realize! XOXO

@sarahb yup, Missy is a blessing as are ALL the NIRDI's. and I have to go back to 15 and find out how you broke your hip! jeez I had 2 hip replacements and the pain can be unexplainable.. glad you are fine.. :wavey:

@Austina okay, Green Book is on my list for me and my girlfrend KC! jeez louise on your gates, but they work! LOVE LOVE the dogs Austina.. beautiful... yup, we will hook up eventually in Austin. Leaving in 12 days for the the 5 week trek, stopping first in Maryland for my husband's sister's 60th, then on to St Louis for 2 days, then we get to Austin and spend the first night with my bestie in the whole world, Kathleen, then the next day we will go to the VRBO, it's in Hudson Bend if you are at all familiar with that part of north austin. And Austina! yahoo on the shower.. :) xo

@missy very good on the antibiotic, you know I think @Sandeek and I both acquired our osteomyelitis from an opening, mine when the surgeon drilled into my jaw last May to put the 4th time isn't a charm implant, with 12 hours I was in agonizing, debilitating pain, prior to that there was infection in the gum I think but that is when it went to the jaw. So, ensure you keep this hole covered and keep up with the keflex, I find it an easy antibiotic, as in I don't end up feeling nauseous on it. Going to the 'dentist' tomorrow to get his reportand what to do about my lower jaw in reference to placing implants.. we shall see, he's new and I'm thinking I'm going to get a report for at least 15K to fix this whole thing.. I am sending you love sweet lady!bandage up and remember to take care of YOU! xo

@Mamabean how are you feeling and how are things going?? good I sincerely hope!

@Sandeek sending you immeasureable hugs and healing for you..

hi to every NIRDI!

I have read all the new posts, thought replies through & had to drop out of NIRDI today a few times... & now the day is over - so fast...

Count good wishes from my part, until I get a proper hour to catch up (I miss it - after one day!)

Good night (GMT+1)

@missy, I'm sorry about your finger! I know you must have been looking forward to getting back to normal and it's a shame this has to drag out. And oh no to fainting! Don't feel badly though, it happens to a lot of people but I am sorry you had to experience that. My deepest sympathies on the loss of your Aunt Carolyn, so sad. And I was so hoping Francesca would respond to these treatments. I'm sending you and Greg lots of support and good thoughts; it is so hard when a furbaby is struggling.

Love your pics of the pub crawl, you look great and I love your wig! Looks like it was a lot of fun and I'm glad you had such a good time.

@Calliecake, I think you made the right decision on the car! If your current car is working well for you, no reason to switch it...and as you said, you can revisit buying a different car in 3 years. Congrats and enjoy your new car! I'm sorry seeing old pictures upset you so much and I hope remembering that you are much loved by your wonderful husband, your family, and friends brings you some comfort. You possess so many great qualities Calliecake, and are just such a kind and caring person and you have made a big difference in a lot of peoples' lives, please remember that! (((Hugs)))

@ringo865, I am hoping and praying that the chemo continues to go relatively smoothly for you. I'm sorry about the bone pain but glad to hear the OTC meds did a decent job controlling it for you. Like Tekate, I wish I could take this away from you, and I am sending you lots of love and support as you make your way through your treatment. (((HUGS)))

@marcy, so nice that you, your sister, and her family got together! Sounds like such a nice day.

@av, glad you had a relaxing Sunday but still managed to get some work done.

@Austina, too bad about the bad weather, but the pub afterwards looks like it was really fun! Love the picture of Dottie, she is just the sweetest thing. And congratulations on the gates! Just a few more tweaks and this saga will finally be over for you

@Tekate, you have a lot of fun adventures coming up, it all sounds so wonderful. Of course the best part will be the arrival of your precious granddaughter! Wishing you a good dentist's visit, I hope this new dentist can get you going on the right path.

@Sandeek, I hope everything went smoothly for you today, thinking of you. <3

Hi @Mamabean and @sarahb!

A big thank you to everyone on my painting, you are all so sweet and made my day! Very simplistic really, but I am having fun doing it. Youtube is so awesome...lots of instructional painting videos, like going to a class but getting to stay home LOL.

Just the usual today...some cleaning, a trip to the grocery store (I have GOT to figure out how to order online), and paying some bills. Tomorrow I head to the dentist for a cleaning, woo-hoo!

Take care all! Xxx

Hi NIRDI’s!

Callie, I am glad you are sticking with a car you know and love. When do you get your upgrade? I’ll be interested to hear if your friend’s son made it in for the wedding. Nebraska was in full blown blizzard mode and now they are having awful flooding. I am sorry to hear some old pictures were unsettling for you. I hope you are feeling better now. The pictures and letters from the kids would be fun to see again.

Missy, i resolved my computer problem - I was reading Mac Rumors today which directed me to $400 off a new MacBook Pro with touch bar. It should arrive Wednesday. Marty typed on my laptop tonight and it worked fine. He smacks the keys harder than I do though. I am hitting them kind of hard now and they are working a bit better but I am getting the duplicate letters. i am sorry to hear Francesca is not doing well. Hugs to you and HRH. I hate to hear about your finger; it looks like they wrapped it up really good and I am glad they will be checking it frequently. I hope it starts feeling better right away. Don’t worry about fainting; I hate to hear that happened. I so so sorry to hear about your Aunt Carolyn. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Ringo865, brownies and ice cream are great for birthday celebrations. Sorry to hear about the melting at your place. I am sure that is coming here too. What neck of the woods do you live in? I actually don’t mind lifting, it’s fun to keep adding a pound here and there. Good idea to check out tae chi. Good luck with your second round of chemo; I am sorry to hear you had pain from the neulasta. That is scary to hear so much cancer has been in your family.

Mamabean, your son has company with others who faint from shots. My BIL who is a rough and tough outdoors guy farmer passes out every time he gets a shot. Reading the entire “As The NIRDI’s Turn” will take a while but well worth the read.

Kate, I bet you are counting the days until you get out of cold weather. I will be in Arizona in July; then I’ll be wishing for snow. How awful about coming across a fatal accident. I do like to speed and zip around corners but I have calmed down in my old age. I was looking to buy a classic mustang after I graduated from college and found a white one with red interior, a convertible, 4 on the floor with 428 horse power. I took it for a spin. Told the salesman I loved it but I’d kill myself in it and walked away. I ended up with the old standard V-8 1966 mustang that went fast enough but not crazy.

Austina, I picked up window food on the way home from work today and drove between 2 big snow drifts in the parking lot. I felt like I was in a tunnel. Stupid snow drifts. LOL to expecting to see camels in the wind. Cute picture. More progress on the gate. Sweet. I will watch for Green Book on PPV.

Hi Sarahb - I hope you are doing well.

AV, there are a lot of posts today. Hi!

Junebug, you can find how to do almost anything on YouTube. I did Tole Painting for a while; it was fun but nothing turned out like the picture. I am definitely going to order my groceries online this summer during golf season. Marty will never know the difference and I love it.

I begrudgingly returned to work today and accepted my fate a little better as the day went on. HaHa. I actually had most of my work done before noon so while browsing through cover stories in Flipboard I noticed Best Buy had the laptop I was considering $400 today. It should arrive Wednesday. Sweet.

It’s my bed time so I guess I’ll head that way. Take care.
Marcy

GM girls. This one finger typing blows lol. So long to say what I want to and please forgive me for being more brief than usual. It's a chore typing like this.

@junebug17 thanks sweet Junie, I appreciate your good wishes. Can I help you order online? I am pretty good at that :cheeky:. Happy to help if I can. Have a good dental cleaning today. Another challenging one handed task is flossing.:knockout:

@Tekate thank you sweet Kate the Great. I remember all too well your and Sandeek's story and pray you are both well on your way to complete recovery for good. How's your handsome son doing in Brooklyn? How's your sweet niece? You have a nice trip coming up yay for that. Lots of cheer and experiences to happily anticipate. Love that.

@Sandeek continuing to send healing vibes your way and big but gentle hugs. Hope you are feeling good without the metal and good luck with your appointments the rest of the week. Fingers crossed for you. XO

@AV_ lol you don't know what you are missing  JK. Hope you are having a productive and enjoyable day.

@Mamabean you are so welcome here...you are a breath of fresh air and a warm and lovely lady and I hope you stick around. And hope reading from the beginning isn't too boring lol and feel free to not do that:P2. I hear you re feeling others pain. That happens to me too and I literally feel the pain that others do (albeit a much more mild version!) when hearing of traumatic experiences. Weird but a real thing. I think it's because we are very intuitive and feeling individuals. Too empathetic but can't change who we are. Hugs and welcome again!

@sarahb (((hugs))). Hope life is treating you well and you are feeling good. Miss you here but glad things are going smoothly for you!

@Keeliamira how are you doing? Thinking of you. Hugs.

@ringo865 bucketloads of healing dust for your upcoming chemo and lots of hugs. One day the you are well I owe you pumpkin pie at the beach...you're invited! Open invitation.:appl:

@Austina good luck with the plumber today and hope the gates get fully fixed soon. Hugs.

@marcy wonderful news resolving your computer issues. You're smart cookie. Sorry you're back at work but glad it went well. Hope you had good night's sleep. Looks like milder weather will be here for us and hope you are enjoying the same. No blizzard dust outgoing to you.

@Scandinavian I am thinking of you and sending hugs your way.

Life is a bit overwhelming for me atm with Francesca's major breathing and now severe lung inflammation and no treatment able to improve her status and Aunt Carolyn's death and upcoming funeral and my bleeding and non healing surgical wound plus other issues I won't bore you with here. Plus typing is getting harder and harder. Let's just say I am taking it all one hour at a time right now and focusing on just getting through it day by day and trying to not look too far ahead. Just keeping this index finger totally immobile is much harder than I thought it would be. It's almost like a claustrophobic feeling I have with having to do this now. And it really hurts much more than I think it should.

I am well aware my issues are small compared to many of you and I appreciate you graciously allowing me to share here.

Having said that I am keeping all of you in my thoughts with a special shout out to @Sandeek. @ringo865 and @Tekate. Mega dust coming your way. XO

Leaving you with food for thought.

Goodness, it’s been whirlwind few days...so much to catch up on!

@Calliecake thank you for the love re me dd2. If we end up moving, we are very hopeful it will be nearer family. Anywhere off the eastern seaboard would be nearer frankly as they are all in the west. I’m so sorry coming across your old photos made you so sad. The same for me. I mourn those who are no longer here and the dreams I had that I am too old to chase. Funny, but watching a musical performance does the same...frequently brings me to tears not necessarily because of beauty, but the memories... hugs to you Calliecake!

@junebug17 your painting is absolutely lovely! I especially love the delicate shading and color gradation in the leaves and flowers. What a talent! My father was a painter and I’ve always marveled at those who could turn color into magic! I love to to draw, but I’m strictly monochromatic. Color scares me, lol. I’m so glad you have an outlet like that that helps you relax! And glad your dh’s new car is helping his stress. Thanks for the emerald ring love and dust for repairs. We are halfway through! Woohoo!

@Jimmianne I am sooo glad Mr Monet’s surgery went well. How is he? Still improving?

@Austina
OMG, your dogs are gorgeous! What kind are they? They make me want to absolutely bury my face in their curly fur and hug!!! I’m so glad the gate people finally showed up. Do you have the electronics fixed yet? Thanks for the dust re migraines and dd2. Dd2 seems to be a bit better.

@Tekate migraines are absolutely miserable. Im so sorry you’ve had to deal with them too. I get shots quarterly to manage mine and it really helps. I’m so glad you like my emeralds. They are bringing me So Much Joy! They are definitely helping me get through the family stress and dd1 stress. She is doing better and I am so thankful we can get her the care she needs. Sending love back attcha Kate!

@missy thanks for asking about my migraine. It finally abated after my dr put me on prednisone Thursday and I’ve been blessedly migraine free since. ...And enjoying my new bling to its fullest! Thanks! Every time you post your cartier opal I stare and drool....goals. Your taste is right up my alley too! DH has a third interview tomorrow and we’re crossing our fingers. It’s a c-suite position so there’s a lot riding on it. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with complications with your finger. Miserable! I hope you’re not in too much pain. I know Greg is taking good care of you!!! And your wigs are so seriously FUN! That long green one is fantastic and you looked adorable for the pub crawl. Sending you big hugs for healing and your sorrow over aunt Carolyn. May her memory be a blessing.

@marcy glad you got the windshield sorted but oh no! on the water leak! Any news? Congrats on the new MacBook!

@ringo865 sending love and hugs and prayers re your cancer. I hope the rest of your chemo is not too hard. And major 9+lbs of baby kudos! You are clearly strong. You’ve got this! Thanks for the bling love!

Welcome @Mamabean! I’m new too so we can stumble along with these wonderful women together!

This morning is quite cold for the South...low 30s. Not horrible compared to some of you, but with only plyboard across my front door, the house is cold and drafty. I’m hoping to get my door back today. I applied for a fantastic job in another state last night and woke up at 430a with major anxiety. I’m qualified but my confidence is not great so I’m stressed. With dh’s job situation it’s put added stress on me. I have an MRI this morning due to the difference in my migraines so please send dust. Ooooh! And I made the best St. Patrick’s day dinner every Sunday night. Soda bread was perfection and the corned beef and veggies could not have been better. Instant pot for the win!! I hope everyone has a beautiful day!
