So glad you got the cast put on today @marcy, and the bonus of having lunch out afterwards. Ooops to nearly slipping again, ice is treacherous, so be extra careful. Glad you still got good use of your arm, how long does the cast have to stay on for?

Wow over 50 miles in a day, you must have leg muscles like iron @missy I hope your medical appointment went well and you were able to enjoy the rest of the day.

Electrician turned up and as far as we know, has hooked up the heat pump, clean up crew due tomorrow, it’ll be lovely to see all the debris gone!

Not much else going on here ATM.

Hi everyone else. So our 2 medical appointments went fine yesterday. Though my integrative MD is still not sure what I should do at least he has done research and talked to a few other specialists. I have to give him credit and I appreciate the effort. Even if it gets me nowhere at least he is trying. And that counts.

I was expecting a delivery yesterday but disappointingly it did not show. It got shipped to HI from Texas. It is in NJ now at least. But lol it leads a more exciting life than I do haha. Hoping it comes today. It's not bling related though so sorry about that.

Last night we watched a movie on Netflix and Princess Gracie and I were super comfy together. I do love this little baby. But miss my sweet HRH Francesca so much. I think of her every single day. 43 months since she died but she is never far from my mind and she is always in my heart.

Yesterday got away from us dealing with garden issues. Guys eventually showed up then we were in discussions with them about future work.

Good to see the bear coming out in sympathy with you @marcy. How’re you coping one handedly?

Glad to hear your appts went as well as expected @missy, you certainly are a medical mystery, so not surprising you confound the ‘experts’.

Sitting waiting at the garage for the car to be inspected, they’ve said at least 2 hours Not a lot we can do hear other than wait. We know one of the recalls isn’t relevant, we don’t have a tow hitch! Hopefully it won’t take too long.

Hi everyone else. We had a good day yesterday. We hiked after Greg's dental appointment and it was very mild out. We could have gone cycling but it was already midday and for us, if we can't cycle for at least four hours it isn't worth the time it takes to get ready to cycle and do the bike maintenance. Today we were hoping to cycle but the misty weather never lifted (despite predictions to the contrary thanks microclimate) so instead we went hiking again and it was nice. Mild and slightly misting the entire hike. I am now coloring my hair (what is left of it lol). What an exciting life I lead

Work was decent this week--busy but decent. Spent the day doing laundry--I swear I washed every shirt my DH owns! WTH? I don't know why he changes 20x/day. Went to our organic market and got some pesto, tomoatoes and lots of garlic. I'll make garlic soup on the weekend, and roasted tomato's with pesto bruschetta and boursin cheese.

I need more N95 masks, and the pharmacy I buy from is across the street from our favorite Italian place. So I see a fabu lunch in my future!!!

@missy I am envious of your continued mild temps. You've really lucked out! Must have been mild as you are wearing a jean jacket!!!! It is currently -8c, so not too bad. Supposed to be +3 tomorrow--if so I'll walk.

@Austina those automotive shops are usually in some industrial location, so one is often "stuck" there. I would have taken an uber to 2 hour lunch!!! Recently, my DH took his car in, and the dealership paid for his uber service as he had no intention of waiting hours for his service. No more shuttles--just ubers.

Glad Greg’s dental appt went well, always a relief to get that out of the way. Love the polar bear pants @missy, I have a polar bear head coat hook I bought in Churchill many years ago, but I’ve never found the perfect place for it! I really need to find somewhere as it’s been in it’s box far too long. I also need to touch up my roots this weekend, being white they make my hair look even sparser on top when they show through.

Yay to work not being a beast this week @canuk-gal, I hope the weather was better today, currently 76 deg F here, much more like it! Yum to garlic soup Speaking of delicious, I saw in an old thread yesterday your fabulous huge diamond and amazing eternity band I think you said you no longer have the ER, but it must’ve been fun while you did.

I hope you’re managing OK @marcy and that you’re not in any pain. Fingers crossed the bone knits back well and you’ll be good as new. How long does the cast have to stay on?

Looking forward to seeing your new studs @MamaBee, has David said when they’ll be ready? I love the setting you’ve chosen for them.

How‘re all the other lovely NIRDIs?

We did the food shopping this morning, and had another landscaper come to quote. ATM it can only be for the hard landscaping, as we’re still in stage 4 restrictions, which means no water at all. Not sure why, because we had masses of rain while we were away. Let’s hope these guys come back with a reasonable quote. The garden was cleared up yesterday of all the debris associated with the pool build, but it’s not exactly what you’d call pretty

I’ve finally got a date for the car to go in for repair, 8 months after the accident. They’ll need it for 10 working days, so we’ll need to organise ourselves in terms of food, because we’ll be without the car. We could get a hire car, but it means more back and forth, and we can manage without it.

No plans for the weekend, but I hope you all have a good one

Another busy day with busy stuff. I think I spend WAY too much time cooking and cleaning. Had a slushy walk today. Good to get out in the bright sunshine--I almost took my bike out!!! But icy spots and sense prevented that.

@Austina we hit +8c glorious degrees today!!! I know it isn't 76F but for this time of the year in our neck of the woods, I'll take it! I hope your landscaping quote doesn't cause palpitations! LOL. And yes, I adored that ring--all 10 years of wearing it. I recall some interesting reactions to it---I bet you get that all the time. I had a very beautiful hook (from a gallery LOL) in my former house---I put it in the laundry room and hung my car keys on it. I'm sure you'll find a beary good place for yours!

@MamaBee are you feeling better? Hope you find a nice tick-tock soon. I think I've owned two dozen watches in my life--and I still love my OLD OLD Seiko. In fact I still own it. Great watch that looks fabu still--two toned, millgrain bezel, chronograph. I'm going to get a battery for it--and wear it again! Thanks for the inspiration!!!

Good morning girls! Happy Caturday Saturday!!!

@Austina yes that is exactly it. My roots were getting white and my hair looking even worse than usual which is hard to do lol. I wish all my hair would turn white but tuey once told me that he can tell that will not happen and so the miss mosh just ugh gets me. I use a non ammonia based dye which is supposedly gentle. But also doesn't last too long. I love polar bears. Wow stage 4 restriction. I wonder why. We have had plenty of rain here so I do not think we are under any drought conditions here. Hopefully some more rain will get you where you need to be. Greg is very strict with the garden lol. He likes a pristine garden that is for sure

Thanks for all the thoughts and well wishes. I appreciate it. i am usually not in pain, but easily frustrated and have a few pity parties.

@Austina that's great they finally are going to repair your car. Maybe the dealer can arrange a reasonable loaner for you. Marty had to get one for over a month when that lady destroyed the back of his pickup. he said maybe 5 - 6 weeks on the cast. i may know more tuesday.

@missy your hair looks great. Glad you had some mild weather for a hike. I like your leggings. glad Greg got a good report card at the dentist.

@Canuck-gal nice to have a decent week at work. sounds like you did lots of laundry. i have to do some every three days for a while, i only have three pairs of very stretchy pants. it's a challenge to hang up shirts for me, but tops and pants i have mastered. did you get your delicious italian lunch? i hope this landscaper has a realistic quote for you.

Hi to everyone else. It's sort of hard to type with my chilblains on multiple fingers now. Ah the joy of auto immune diseases. We had a good hike yesterday and even saw the seals. That is always thrilling. And of course deer. Today is much colder and I am rethinking our plans of hiking. I refuse to be a prisoner of my auto immune issues so will forge ahead as usual. While I am tempted to stay inside I realize the weather will only continue getting colder so I will not let it beat me down. Sending you all hugs and lots of love and enjoy a beautiful Sunday. XOXO

@missy, I am so sorry to hear about your fingers. I hope they get better. Stay warm in that cold weather. That is really cool that you saw some seals yesterday on your hike. Your pictures from the hike are great. That is a Lotta seals sunbathing there too.

@canuk-gal I am glad you're enjoying warmer temperatures. It is warmer here too. But the parking lots are still in icy mess. I found out that the shoes I had on the day I fell have synthetic soles and according to reviews I read they get slippery when wet and I walked through a puddle. Wish I knew known that sooner. too late now.

We are going out to meet some friends for lunch here shortly. I did end up working about three hours this morning. I think I will ask the doctor on Tuesday. If there's any reason I should cut back on what I'm doing. I am pretty tired, and I still feel like somebody beat the crap out of me. My body in general hurts worse than my wrist does.

I did manage to grab a sunrise picture this morning with my cell phone. It's still a little bit too big for me to use with one hand, but I managed.

Hey to everyone else.

So we didn't go out at all yesterday because around 9AM yesterday Greg told me he was very nauseous. I took his temp and he was 3.5 degrees F above his norm. Gave him Tylenol and had him rest all day. He just woke up and we shall see how it goes.

It's a big week appointment wise and we both have an endocrinologist appt in the city Wednesday at 7AM and at noon that same day I have an appointment with my bone specialist. It's been a year since I saw this specialist and I truly hope I can keep both appointments. No way will I drive into the city myself so we shall see. And then Thursday we both have dermatology appointments and it's Greg's body check which is important so hoping he will be well and can keep that appointment too. It's always something and usually multiple somethings lol.

Most important is of course that Greg gets well. That is my primary concern period. I am worried because when he gets sick it is usually major as he rarely gets sick. Praying it isn't his HPT starting again or anything that will require major intervention like surgery. If you could all think good thoughts for him I would greatly appreciate it...Big hugs and much love. Leaving you with Princess Gracie who was doing Pilates on me last night

We’ve had a busy weekend out with the tape measure and discussing what we’re going to do with the garden!

Glad it’s been a bit warmer @canuk-gal, not tropical, but at least less arctic!

I’m not surprised you’re feeling beaten up @marcy, I imagine your fall was a lot harder than you felt at the time. You were probably in shock and now it’s catching up with you. Take it easy and rest up. I’m sure it must feel pretty strange having to type one handedly, but it’s readable, so you’re doing OK. Hope you enjoyed your lunch with friends yesterday, and yes to checking with the Dr than you’re not doing too much.

Oh no @missy, poor Greg, I hope he feels better soon, what a worry for you. I hope all your appointments go well too, you’re always dealing with so much. As far as we know, the baby is fine, we’ve only seen her when she was 6 days old.

Weather is lovely, I’m just waiting for my neighbour to text that her little boy is down for a sleep, then we’re going out for a walk.

@canuk-gal glad you are enjoying some nice weather. Other than wind, it's nice through Wednesday. Then more snow and evil ice. I think you are right, falling takes a big toll on your body especially at my age.

@MamaBee I hate to hear you can't find your band. I hope it turns up. I agree, I need more rest. I slept over an extra hour last night.

I slept in a bit. It took me almost two hours to shower, dress, eat breakfast then log in to work. Lunch was easy but that was 90 minutes. Then, I worked till 5 and stopped for supper. Wow. That took 90 minutes to brown two pounds of hamburger, put individual servings in dishes that then I couldn’t close. So then I moved them to freezer bags which was a pain in the butt Then I did the dishes, ate some tomatoes and a piece of toast. After that, I decided to get vanilla ice cream and the lid sucks to get off. I had some though, but I am worn out. And now my wrist hurts.

Okay, i will quit whining now.

Hoping my X-Ray is good tomorrow.

Hi everyone else. Thank you all for your good wishes for Greg...So appreciated! He feels better and I am hoping that lasts. It's so stressful when he is not feeling well and I worry so. just because of all we went through in 2020 and 2021 with major health concerns for him. It's worse when our loved ones get sick than when we get sick if you kwim. So the past 2 days went in a blur. Tomorrow we have three medical appointments (and a long drive into the city super early) and on Thursday two medical appointments. Cannot wait for this week to be over lol

Hello peoples! Lots to write about but no time right now - we are going to pick up Auti at gymnastics and she'll be here all day looong

I turned 70 in December, don't feel any different than 69 but wayyyy different than 59. I have alopecia areata (Stress and genetic disorder) so my bald spot is recovering have a appt with the derm in 2 weeks (this has been going on since September).

Autumn is almost 4 and such a sweetie, we bake.

John is John. Kathleen, my best friend is maintaining although in heart failure, she just had pneumonia and bronchitis and recovered, which they were worried about. She is a REAL trooper. I can't see her much but we talk all the time because she can't catch anything (although she has a new grandson who is almost 1 whom she caught the pneumonia and bronchitis from he's a cutie).. her son moved from Dallas to Austin with wife and kid

Chris is still in Brooklyn working for AGHAST! ByteDance (tiktok) making good money but always waiting for the US to kick ByteDance out.. times are harder for tech people right now anyway,

Great news that Greg is feeling better @missy, I hope your appts go well today, a very early start for you makes it a very long day.

I’m not surprised it’s taking you so long to get things done @marcy, we take it for granted that we’ll always be able to use both hands to do things, so when one is out of use, it’s a struggle. Great that the x-rays were good and that you should only need the cast for another 4 weeks. Will you need physio therapy after that?

The MMD studs are just in the thinking about it phase ATM @MamaBee, we’re so busy concentrating on getting the pool finished and trying to sort out the landscaping, they’re not a priority. Maybe for my birthday later in the year. K’s Mum is still there 4 days a week.

Auti is quite the little young lady now @Tekate, looking forward to seeing you soon. I’m sorry you can’t see Kathleen, but her health and well being are a priority, and your continued friendship and support are what’s important.

How’re all the other lovely NIRDI? All well I hope.

They’re here cleaning up the pool ready for the plaster tomorrow. Another landscaper coming soon to quote, we seem to learn something new from each of them. The one who came yesterday said we had to have turf (grass) on non clay soil on the drip field which we had no idea about!

Can’t wait for all this to be done.
