Now I really did it :((

Ouch @missy, sorry that there is no improvement with your injury. Perhaps you could call your doctor, but I don't think that there's much you can do if it's fractured. It may take weeks to feel better. (Mine took a whole summer) (((Hugs))) I don't know how you're going to manage the long car ride today, even with your special cushion. Ouch, ouch, ouch.

Poor Bobby. ❤️

Take care.

Aww thank you ❤️
Bobby gained weight yay and my sister did labs. Urine had trace sugar but not full blown diabetes. Yet. She wants us to increase the length of time we inject him with steroids as that’s likely exacerbating this. Instead of every 10 days to two weeks she wants us to try stretching it out. But it’s what is keeping him alive. Anyway it was a good appointment and Knock wood he’s doing ok under the circumstances

Driving home and ouch. I didn’t bring the cushion because the car isn’t too bad but yeah after 4 hours in the car I’m not great lol

My sister bruised her coccyx too in the past and it took months to fully heal like your experience

Have a great day and thank you for your compassion and good wishes ❤️

Hello lovelies

Phew, it’s been busy, but I now have a moment to catch up. We had a great time on the cruise, and our friends really enjoyed it. We got home Thursday evening, AA keep changing the flight time for some reason, so later than we had originally booked. (Outward flight was way earlier, so good job Colin checked!)

We’re enjoying the last of our time with our friends, they go home tomorrow,.

Good luck with your visit with Bobby, poor sweet little boy, I hope your sister can determine what’s going on. I’m sorry your coccyx is causing you so much pain @missy, it sounds miserable, and I hope the long day in the car isn’t too uncomfortable. Just see. Your post @missy, and glad the Bobby is doing ok.

Phooey, sorry things didn’t work out in the trials with Pirate @Scandinavian, it sounds very convoluted, but I’m sure he’ll get there with a little more practice. It sounds fun, but exhausting.

One of the things I really love about my RX is the big fierce grille @canuk-gal, but I do get it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I really love the car.

Hope you’re having a good weekend @marcy, and not working too hard.

Glad to hear your kitty is doing well @finerthings.

Just finished washing and ironing all of Colin’s things, will do mine during the week. We’re sitting outside as the weather is lovely, sunny and not too hot.

Have a great weekend lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!

Well winter is coming....or is here. LOL. I'd say 5 cms of snow fell, and more on the way. This is our typical for high precipitation months, but we hate it. We want Spring and get, well, the heavy wet stuff. It could just rain, but no, it is cold enough for snow. Got my hair cut today, and was going to go shopping, but the roads were awful. Accidents. Wow my hair is short...more snow on the roads than hair on my head! LOL It grows so fast and I am lucky short hair suits me. Nothing planned for weekend, luckily.

@Austina very happy you and your friends enjoyed your cruise. LOL to doing the laundry so quickly. I really like the Lexus, but my DH pays, so he chooses. heehhee

@missy funny, I almost misjudged the sidewalk today for the snow. I was thinking, I must slow down BC I won't want to fall! It is difficult when you cannot sit ( I live that pelvic pain experience now). I hope furry Sir B keeps on eating!!

Keep well and carry on folks!! I made chili for chilly weather.

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI’s!

@Austina, I am glad you enjoyed the cruise and your friends also made it home okay.

@missy I hope your sister can help Bobby. I am sorry you fell. Ouch to hurting your coccyx, I bet that car ride was miserable. I hope. You get better soon. I wish we had a Lexus dealer here, at some point I need to get a new car. Porsche or Audi isn’t local either. I know you’ve enjoyed your cars. How cool to run in to a colonel wearing his uniform and who volunteers to take care of parks. How awful and scary about the chain snapping. I hate to hear Greg cut himself, I hope it isn’t too bad and he recovers quickly, I am glad you had so much help waiting for your friend to come back.

@canuk-gal did you pick a new car yet? I sure have trouble getting in and out of low cars anymore. We’ve had some nice days here too but the cold and snow came back. Springtime in the Rockies. Good deal on your new jacket. My Kitchenaid mixer is Tiffany blue.

@Slickk does your school usually end that late? We are usually out for the year by the beginning of June. They star the last week of August.

@finerthings I am glad your kitty is doing well.

@Scandinavian sorry Saturday was such an ordeal for you. It sounds like Pirate works hard at it. Ten hours of skiing is a lot. We’ve had more clouds than starry skies lately, but I did get a series of picture of some star clusters. Marty put my scope on a mount in the observatory today, so I can take pictures anytime it’s clear and the roof is open. I had a hard time carrying it in and out because it’s bigger than my hand so made it difficult for me to carry.

It’s snowing here tonight. We had rain last night, we sure need the moisture.

We had our astronomy club meeting last night. I caught up on some things around the house today and only worked a little bit. I think I’l make homemade soup tomorrow. I need to get the April newsletter done for the astronomy club tomorrow too.

Here’s a picture I took for 3 open star clusters in the constellation Auriga.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning lovely ladies and happy Sunday!!!

Crazy temps..at approximately 8PM last night the temps dropped from 90F (yes 90!!!!) to 42F. In ONE second!!! Not kidding. It's loony tune weather LOL

Yesterday was too hot here so after we got back from the vet I sent Greg to Costco and Trader Joe's (yes Saint Greg to go on a Saturday for me lol) and I worked out indoors. Just too hot outside so when he got back we stayed inside and stared decluttering but we have a long way to go. And Saint Greg gave me his closet space downstairs for the overspill of my coats and cycling stuff. So now I have all the closets in the house minus his little closet in the bedroom. I have a walk in closet in the bedroom and he has a smaller closet. And that smaller closet in the bedroom is his only closet lol. But he's a good husband and I needed the space. Eventually I hope to add an HVAC zone in the attic and insulate it so we can make better use of that space. Right now it's more of a garage up there storing stuff we probably will never use.

Today is chilly and windy so definitely a hiking day. I am relieved the heat is over because yesterday was TOO hot for me

@Austina glad your temps are moderate and lovely. We will be right over lol. Thanks for your good wishes. One day at a time. Healing takes a while at my age I guess  Just grateful I can still walk/hike/treadmill otherwise it would be way more challenging for me. Funny about the Lexus grille...when they changed it I was like ugh so ugly but after some time Greg wanted to get a new Lexus despite the grille so I acquiesced despite the appearance and it grew on both of us. I dont hate it and I even might like it lol. And lexus does make a great car and they have amazing customer service. We likely would never go with a different manufacturer unless something changes

@Slickk happy Sunday!!!! Hugs to Bear

@canuk-gal OMG Snow!!!! NO!!!! Though after yesterday and the heat I might have welcomed snow lol. What is with our weather??? I bet you look stunning in short hair. I have always wished I could pull short hair off since I love how sassy and sweet a short do is but no such luck. Short hair does not favor me but I know you look beautiful with your new short do. Plus as you write it'll grow fast for you so really no downside at all. YUmmmmm chili. I love the vegan chili from TJ's. I add it to my big salad with black beans, chickpeas, grilled onions, grilled veggies and half sour pickles and quinoa. It's a winning combo for me though I get it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Stay warm and may your snow melt and leave for the rest of the year!

@marcy hope your astronomy meeting went well and yummmm to homemade soup. BOO to snow. Wow. Both you and Sharon have snow and it's almost April and the temps here were 90F yesterday. Crazy weather. Though I know for you and Sharon it is par for the course. Cmon Spring. Glad you are not overworking and enjoy a lovely Sunday sweet Marcy. And thanks for your well wishes. All I can say is ouch from your fellow Klutz though I take the Kltuzy cake I think lol. Not a medal I ever wanted!

@Scandinavian hope your weekend is going super well and the family is doing great...hugs to the pups and all of you

@finerthings good morning I hope you have wonderful Sunday...please hug your sweet kitty from me

@springerspaniel hope you are enjoying a terrific weekend and hugs to the pups

Hello everyone else. Have a wonderful Sunday!!! XOXO

Fresca and Pepsi hanging out yesterday...they are so sweet. We could never leave the feral cats. As long as Greg and I are healthy enough to stay here and care for the house and the cats. I don't know what the future holds but I pray for a good future for all the NIRDIs for a long time to come

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to the mall today--as I wanted to color test for some new Dior make up in my sights. The Armani Maestro I have been using has gone up to 122$ a bottle, so that will be the day.:o Anyway. Will have left over chili for supper--pretty low on the thrill-o-meter here.

@missy , LOL to the closet space and yes Greg is a generous person! Actually I think my DH has more closet space than me--and he doesn't ware half of his stuff now that he is almost retired. I cannot believe your temps--and such a swing! We could handle 90F here--my DH is complaining about the cold weather and snow. Luckily I like short hair--long hair just doesn't suit me at all. Shoulder length is the longest I can pull off--then it starts to matt. The only draw back is that short hair is a lot more work. Needs product and coiffing.

@marcy love your pictures! And yes, unfortunately we are too well acquainted with Spring in the Rockies. We can have snow every month of the year! And, no, my DH hasn't decided on a new SUV yet. We had some plans to go and look, then the poopy weather came.

@Austina how is your garden looking?

Hello to the NIRDI we don't hear much from, thinking of ya'll!

cheers--Sharon

Happy (how did you get here so fast) Monday!

@canuk-gal going to the mall i fun and yikes that is expensive...Greg is very generous and a good husband and so is your dh and you are a good wife..giving him more closet space. I couldn't do it. I need as much closet space as I can get lol. Oh yes that is so true..short hair requires a lot more styling. Most of my adult life I just let my hair air dry. Super easy. But still short is so sophisticated and sassy. LOVE it.

@Slickk hope work goes well and your week is good

@Scandinavian how was your weekend? How are the pups and the children?

Good morning @marcy @Austina @finerthings @springerspaniel and everyone else...happy Monday!

Yesterday we went hiking and it was chilly. We ran into our friend Steve. I feel bad for him. His two pups died last year (they were old) and he seems lost without them. He was thinking about getting two more but he is reluctant right now. Not ready and not sure. He is always alone. His two boys are grown and he was divorced a long time ago. I feel he is lonely but maybe I am wrong. He was a famous journalist when he was younger. Anyway we are always running into him and yesterday was no exception.

Not sure of our agenda today...wishing you all a marvelous Monday. Enjoy. Be well. XOXO

Hello lovelies

Happy birthday to Jasper @missy - time flies! The deer are looking in good condition, as are Fresca & Pepsi. I hope you’re healing and not in as much pain, it’s good that you can still exercise despite the injury. Greg is amazing, a real gem! I’ve taken over most of the closet space here, but Colin has a reasonable sized walk in.

SNOW :oops2: what’s going on with your weather @canuk-gal? Oy to $122 for makeup - I don’t think my face is worth that much  The garden was a dry husk when we left, but we had rain while we were away, and the weeds - they were everywhere and huge!

Ditto @marcy, snow is just ridiculous! I hope the astronomy meeting went well, I really enjoy your photos.

So, our friends left yesterday, we got them to the airport as their flight was scheduled to leave early. I hated coming back to an empty house, it feels way too quiet. Been busy today, got out and mowed the lawns this morning, washed and ironed the bedding and remade the bed, cleaned their room and it’s all straight again. Did some cleaning, then we went into the pool, it’s a lovely 89 degs and the outside temp is high 70’s, so perfect.

They got home safely, and collected their kitty on the way home, and if I know T, she’ll have had the unpacking done and any washing all squared away by early afternoon

Feeling a bit tired now, it’s been busy but fun having them here.

Hope all the lovely NIRDIs are doing well :wavey:

GM girls and happy terrific Tuesday and happy April 1st!

@Austina thank you. I am glad you enjoyed a wonderful visit with your friends. Sounds very lovely relaxing in the pool on such a beautiful day after you cleaned everything up from the visit. Sweet weather indeed. Ours is not sweet at all. Last night fierce thunder and lighting wth torrential downpours and wind. And this morning the high winds have remained. Very scary weather. We fed the ferals and they were waiting despite the winds. But I worry as you all know.

Good morning @canuk-gal @Slickk @springerspaniel @finerthings @MamaBee @LLJsmom @Inked @marcy @Jemi and everyone else

@LLJsmom @Inked there's an antique jewelry show in the city this weekend..why does it have to be during tax season! If it wasn't I'd be on the phone trying to convince you both to meet me there lol

Yesterday I attempted cycling again and again it was just not possible. Despite Greg's great efforts to make it comfortable for me (he purchased foam and cut out an area to relieve the pressure etc) it just was not to be. So after 8 miles in pain and adjustments galore we decided to call it quits on cycling and we went hiking instead. It was a long day after all that. But it was still fun and I know this too shall pass. We met a colorful character in the neighborhood and chatted with him for a bit. He was sitting on his bike in front of his house but not cycling and he let us take his bike for a test drive. It was cool but clunky.

One of Greg's many attempts to make cycling comfortable for me

The gentleman's bike we saw and test drove

Screen Shot 2025-04-01 at 6.05.07 AM.png

And on our way home to put our bike away and go hiking we ran into this sweet car for sale..OMG MG!!! Do you all think I could learn to drive a stick?

Screen Shot 2025-04-01 at 6.05.40 AM.png

Have a great day lovely ladies. Enjoy. Be well, XOXO

Hello lovelies

I hate to hear that it’s just too uncomfortable for you to ride @missy, despite Greg’s inventive solutions. Step away from the MG, getting spares could be problematic! I’ve no doubt you could drive a manual, that’s what we were taught in, and my last car in England was a 6 speed manual, easy peasy.

Do you ever think you’re banging your head against a brick wall? It’s quite easy to find the facts of certain situations, so what is it people don’t understand? You do know a green card holder who travels, no problem looking at a phone or iPad, if you’re not doing anything wrong.

Out in the garden again this morning, pruning and more pruning. Still at least another 2 morning’s work. Temperatures are fine, but it was quite windy today, so we didn’t go in the pool.

I heard from our lovely friend in Arizona, she’s had a stroke, and is battling hard to get better. :( A good lesson for us all to not take anything for granted.

Be safe and well lovely NIRDIs. :wavey:

Good morning lovely ladies and happy wonderful Wednesday!!!

@Austina thank you! I think it's getting better but very slowly. I still have to sit on the cushion with the cutout but there is some improvement. Yesterday was too cold and windy to even attempt cycling so we went hiking and it was a really nice day depite the wind and chill. Very sunny. Today is colder so hiking it is but at this point I am relieved to give it more time to heal and not attempt cycling anyway so I am glad it is not cycling weather lol And OMG yes you are so right. But somehow even if talking to deaf ears (and yes that is exactly how it feels) I have the responsibility to speak up. It is in me to do the right thing even though the twisted arguments and ignorant willfulness from the majority prevail. I am at peace with myself. If that makes sense. The thing is I know (most not all) are not bad people. They are brainwashed and indoctrinated. It's sad.

Your garden sounds like it is coming along nicely. Our flowers are popping and our cherry blossom is looking good. Spring is very pretty and we are only just beginning.

Hahaha OK no MG for me...you are right of course plus this MG looked to be not in amazing sbape..unlike the one we saw in OG years ago that had AC installed and was in prime condition for a great price. I passed then because let's face it. As you write. It is not a practical car at all. But it's fun to dream. Have a wonderful Wednesday

GM @Slickk happy hump day...hope your week is going smoothly. Hugs to Bear

@springerspaniel how are your furry babies doing?

@canuk-gal hope your snow has melted and you are enjoying real spring weather

@marcy same wish for you...may spring have arrived by you and melted all the snow

Hello everyone else. Hope your week is going well.
XOXO

We just spent the last 20 minutes looking for Gracie to apply the topical med to her face and no luck. She has successfully and completely hidden and we cannot find her. Lucky we didn't take that other house which is more than double the square footage of this one. Oy to the vey. Where is she and we need to apply her med this morning as it's twice a day and we are in the beginning stages. Gracie gracie gracie where are you?
