You know, I read a transcript on McCain''s speech last night and despite his twisting of Obama''s viewpoints, it wasn''t a poorly written speech...
FACT CHECKER should have a ball with it though. McCain supporters should be embarrassed by this speech for any number of reasons. His campaign may as well have resorted to a canned laugh/boo/applause track because the staged nature of every single "live" response to this pathetic attempt at making a "major speech" was blatantly obvious and very poorly executed. It is hard for me to decide which of the many aspects of McCain''s effort was most disturbing and grating on my nerves. Certainly the doddering old man giggling like a school girl at all of his own lame attempts to clever and humorous would rank up there, but it''s hard to ignore his tactic of repeating the same word or words two or three times for emphasis, or his constant and monotonous repetition of "That''s not change we can believe in", or whatever his exact phrase was. I saw better executed speeches in my 8th grade speech class (never mind how long ago that was) and I am salivating over the thought of Obama debating this man on national TV.
What, maybe 100 people in the crowd? No African Americans, either. In freakin'' New Orleans he has no blacks in the audience? Oh, but you served birthday cake while New Orleans drowned, then voted against Katrina relief.
Also, the GOP caucuses in Montana have delivered a surprise:
Romney 38% Paul 25% McCain 22% Huckabee 15%
Yup, the GOP nominee -- who has been the nominee for what, two months? -- got just 22 percent of the GOP activist vote. He came in third place.
