I am now officially obsessed. Just bought this 0.44-ruby set in 14K gold with a platinum crown but with gold prongs for the ruby. Approximately 0.33 carats of OEC diamonds, with platinum prongs and little grooved separating elements. What a lot of care went into making this tiny object! If it was for a child, what a lucky child! And the color of the ruby is, for once, far redder in person than it is in this dealer's photo. Old, probably heated, no certificate, but the craftsmanship is amazing.

Wow! I really like it. Love those shoulders! Congrats!

Mind if I ask where you found it?

More pics, please!!!!

Maccers and Sakag, I bought it from Lang Antiques after thinking about it for several months. They still have the pictures posted in their archives; search for Lang, ruby, 0.44 in images on Google and you should see several more photos. My own photography seriously sucks. They had another one I liked even better but I lost my nerve and they sold it. !.43 carats, $5950.00.1354146389_30_1_5042__1_of_6_.jpg

They're both beauties! But I think I prefer the one you purchased, I love that style of split shank.

I'm now perusing Lang's website...down the rabbit hole I go!

Love love love it! I'd eyed that one too. I can't wait to see your handshots.

Oh I love it!! It looks very Victorian Era to me with the yellow gold, halo and work on the shank. I think it is stunning!

Here's the little sweetheart on my aging hand, next to my college ring and guard ring. Thanks for asking.

Beautiful!!! The color looks lovely!

It's gorgeous! I prefer the ring you purchased as well, the detail on the split shanks looks more whimsical and detailed. Looks great on you, love Lang!!

A very pretty ring which looks perfect on your hand. Congrats on your purchase.

Something else I noticed about this setting, which doesn't show up in any of the photos, is that the scrolls supporting the centerpiece shade gradually from yellow gold to rose gold near where the diamonds are. I can't imagine how they did that! Anybody know?
