Obsessed w/my e-ring reset by David Klass

It was lovely before but wow this new setting brings it all together! It’s like the more beautiful perfected version of itself! So well balanced with such pretty details.

Gorgeous - I too, would be obsessed.

Now that setting is worthy of your beautiful stone.:appl: Well done DK! Again! Congratulations on such a lovely reset.

Just fabulous! Is there a thread where you discuss the design process?

Just fabulous! Is there a thread where you discuss the design process?

Here is a thread I started in RT w/ CADs and the plastic model, etc. Honestly, I had been collecting inspiration for years . I had a secret pinterest board, so many images saved on my phone. A longish email detailing my original ring and the various things I didn't like about it/wanted to change, that I sent out to multiple vendors for quotes.
After choosing to go w/ DK, I broke down what details I liked for various ring components (I made an album of images of shanks, images of shoulders, gallery details, pronged hexagon & octagon settings, etc.) and shared them w/ DK often times cropping and marking up the images as needed to emphasize the specific detail in the image I wanted incorporated in my ring.

That is really really gorgeous! I’ve been considering a large OEC in an L colour, so I would love to see more pics!

So it is an L with strong fluoro- it looks different in different lighting conditions of course. With lower colored stones it really has lot to do with what color the tint is and if you are OK with that tint.
My L came from a necklace that belonged to my husband’s grandmother and had been left to his dad, and his parents offered it to him. He took it to an old family jeweler and knew nothing about it other than the size when he had it put in my original e ring. We just knew that it looked different than the side stones (which were sourced by the same jeweler.)
I think this setting is much more flattering to the stone in every way- the color difference is apparent, but the side view (where tint is often most visible) isn’t. It is all a matter of preference of course!

Lovely reset!!! The design and detail... exquisite!! A DK homerun!! Congrats and enjoy!!

This is a phenominal reset. It does justice to your sdiamond in every way, and has the essence of the original ring but is just of the charts in the design and execution. I love this, truly well done.

Spot on!! WTG, DK!!!

This is stunning! Perfect for your stone!:love::love:

Thank you! I wasn’t sure how it would stack since the stones are all lower now, but it’s working out quite nicely!

You are fortunate to be able to stack so many rings... I can only do one band (max 2 very thin bands) on these Fred Flinstone fingers!! HA!

WOW! This is STUNNING!

I know I have shared this in PS before but I have admired stacks since I was a child! my HS librarian had a lovely diamond engagement ring with sapphires & more diamonds on the side and wore a bunch of bands with it and I was obsessed at a very young age!
I embraced the stacking early, by the nature of my wedding band (the eternity band) being an estate piece that is slightly too big, so I bought a skinny antique platinum band off eBay to have as a spacer. My old e ring setting sat up so high that I often wore just a stack of bands, which led me to being a bit of a band hoarder. ‍♀️

Band hoarder here as well... I have 8-10 stackers and only wear two of them. :( I wish my fingers were longer and more graceful, as I don't want to get rid of any of them. #firstworldproblems

Oh this is soooo gorgeous that handshot is AMAZING!! What a great look!

wow! what a difference. and i love the stacked bands with it.

Did he replace the side stones? All 7 just seem to glow in the new mounting. The setting and center just suit each other perfectly.

No, those are the original side stones- while I am sure my husband would have been OK (not great, but OK) w/ me changing out the side stones, he was definitely attached to the layout of the stones, and to be honest, I was as well, especially now that we have 4 children and are a family of 6. The 6 side stones and adding the hexagon shape around the main stone kind of amped up the symbolism for me.
I did have 4 teeny stones added into the gallery area, but those were the only stones added.

@dtnyc that is a very sweet story behind your ring. I hope my question did not come across as rude. I am simply amazed at how well your new setting presents each diamond to its best advantage. This project really shows how a setting change can make all the difference in the world.
