OEC aquamarine

He can cut an OEC!!!!!!!!!!! He replied to my inquiry with a photo of rough stones and I will admit I panicked a bit and sent him an email he probably thought was insane--then he replied that he could cut as OEC and we are moving forward. No idea what the end product will look like, but it is an exciting prospect...

Jerry is well known for great cutting, you are in good hands! He recut a stone for me and I was thrilled by the result!

But when I washed it and took it outside today (sunny) it was much more blue.

Once is enough -- don't wash all the blue off too! :cool2:

Perfect color...

I requested golden beryl and he has some rough that he said he would cut this weekend. He originally thought it would be great, but after trimming the pieces down to cut he was less sure about the color. I will post updates for anyone interested in the process if it comes out promising.

I just want to comment that Jerry is better at recutting than cutting a piece of rough. I sent him an expensive piece of rough. I told him if the stone was not good please let me know and I would return it. He cut the stone and the stone ended up very small compare to the size of the rough. He didn't charge me the cutting fee for that stone.

For anyone that is interested here is the OEC golden beryl he cut. It is more included than he thought it would be. He sent it to me to review. I probably won’t keep it.4EA6CE88-5EC8-4736-8BC6-A8D41B8D7FFB.jpeg

The cutting looks good to me, but I'm not sure I would want to keep that either. Is it hard for them to determine if the final gem will be included? I would guess one could tell by the rough?

I have no idea. He originally thought it would be very good then after he trimmed the piece before cutting seemed less sure. I agree the cut looks nice but it is very included. It doesn’t help that I have several pieces of golden beryl jewelry that have much better color and clarity. I feel very bad that I don’t want it after he cut it. He said no obligation but I still feel bad..

Don't feel bad, he is super nice. He probably guesses its not what you hoped!
