Hey PS friends! The search continues for an OEC beauty!
Would love your expert thoughts on this 4 ct diamond, generally? - as well as size / in proportion to my finger? (ring size 6 for reference)
Jeweler also shared two slightly smaller options that are extremely similar (details I have, included below)
Details: 4.06 ct OEC (IGI report here)
So what do you think? Unbalanced / bulky, or proportionate to my finger?
I don't have pretty hands and am insecure about my big knuckles - and I felt like rings that were too dainty / feminine, or stones around 7mm or under, made them look even worse / more pronounced....But I also don't want it too look too big / gawdy or "fake" as an engagement ring. Nervous because It is bigger than I was originally looking...but a great price and have the design I wanted, ready to go! I know there's no such thing as "too big" here, but would it look out of place in the real world (i.e., for a 36 yo strategy consultant, living in a medium-sized / COL, city in the Midwest)? I had transitioned to searching for a true antique natural diamond or engagement ring for <$15K total, but when the jeweler shared that this ring in total would be around half my original budget, it felt too good to pass up to continue the relentless search.
Alternatively, here are 2 slightly smaller options, however, I did not have the opportunity to see these in person.
