OEC treasure hunt finds by Asscher_girl

Well, I had the good luck of meeting up with Asscher girl for an impromptu jewelry-a-thon at the San Mateo gem show! Who woulda thunk there were so many OEC goodies at this show? Well, apparently Asscher Girl did. Seriously, this girl has an EAGLE eye! She hunted down all these beauties, picked all the most expensive pieces at each of the booths. and I had a chance to see all kinds of old cut stones.

And just for the record, her spectacular emerald cut is even MORE amazing, beautiful, distinct and gorgeous IRL. No wonder tons of people want to copy it. It is an heirloom piece. Even all the jewelers who saw it were impressed.

This is probably one of the most stunning pieces I have ever seen, and of course probably one of the most expensive pieces at this booth. The center stone is really white. And truthfully, even with the old cuts, I prefer whiter...

I saw some truly amazing bracelets. I wish I had taken a pic of the sapphire one. But this ruby was gorgeous!!


Asscher girl, did you take a pic of the huge earrings? I think they were 8-9 carats, EACH.

In the pic above with all those diamonds, I kep asking Asscher girl what kind of stones they we're because they all seemed too big to be diamonds. I swear I have walked by that booth assuming all that stuff was costume jewelry, well until we saw the price tag on that ginormous pair. $390,000. Uhhhh.....ok. Right. Hang on while I go sell my house...

Wow, totally cool! I prefer the diamond center but would just love the ruby too. I know nothing about rubies but would really love to have an authentic one. The old ones I am sure would be.

Funny enough, I probably also have walked past the same booths and thought exactly the same! That they were costume jewelry. Next time I'll give those spots a stop.

I wish I could had stopped by during the intergem this year but was out of town.
