We''re getting a PUPPY!!!! Could use some cute name ideas for him.
We were thinking something with a beer theme (SO brews his own beer so that''s why)
The only one we can come up with is Porter.

Do you have any other ideas for this little guy???

I often think of names I''d like to use beforehand, but then when I actually have the dog, a name comes out of nowhere and it just sticks! My greyhound Bruce is the last dog I named, and I have to say, I have no idea why! He is just such a Bruce!

I like the beer theme though. Maybe Hopper? For hops . . .

Or you could pick any name you want for the first name and give him a beer related middle name, LOL. My old dog had a first and middle name.

He''s a Boston Terrier...we''re either going to pick him up this weekend or next....depending on when we can make the 4 hour drive to where he''s at.

He''s 11 weeks old right now. He was born 8/19. So he''s ready today if we could just get over there.

Hmm, Stout doesn''t seem like a very good dog''s name.. I''m still stuck on Guinness, TBH.
In fact, I think his dark colouring sort of fits it, too.. but, that''s just me.

I actually love Porter and Hops as names...and I was going to recommend Guinness as well.

Let''s see....there''s also Beck''s, Sleeman and Rickard (my favourite beer!). I still vote for porter though .

I like Porter, but be warned dogs often get confused so they need a name or a nickname that is monosyllabic so if you pick one of the longer names you should also pick a short nickname. Then when you pick him up start calling him both as often as you can. We named our puppy Darth Vader but had to train him using just Darth. Now he is used to his full name as well as several others including Monster, poop face, poophead etc... It just helps the puppy not get confused if you keep the name short. Have so much fun! Puppies are awesome and give so much wonderful and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

What great advice! I thought I remember hearing somewhere that two syllabols work too....but it makes much more sense that one would be better....
If I didn''t dislike his "name" so much right now...I wouldn''t even change it as not to confuse him but the breeder name him Robert

Funny story about Tito''s name. My sister and her boyfriend originally wanted to name him Le Fleur (weird, I know), but he just wouldn''t respond to it. They realized they''d have to try a new name, so the first thing they did to brainstorm, was to start going through the names of people they knew. They got to "Uncle" Tito (a family friend), and the puppy''s ears perked up and he turned his head. Thinking it was a fluke, they said "Tito" again, and once again, his ears perked up and he looked at them. So, in the end, Tito (the dog) ended up picking out his own name.
