Porter is certainly an adorable name! I think it looks like it would suit him well.

We were trying to name our cat Charlie a beer related name but then we noticed his crazy long eye brow hairs and FF remarked that reminded him of the incredibly bushy, long haired eyebrows of my Papa whose name is Charles. Charlie just sorta stuck. Now that he is outweighing my older cat but on a smaller frame (Charlie is a PIG) maybe Stout would have been a good idea.

That dog is precious! OK... here''s a few "beer" ideas off the top of my head (and a minute or two of seraching a beer list):

Stout, Beck, Lager, Smithwicks (pronounced "smithicks"), Harp, Guiness, Bud, Natty, Abita, Bass, Sam, Paulaner, Pauli, Mich, Pilsner, Dunkel... mine have a lot of German and Irish influences...


I think porter is cute too!

I often think of names I''d like to use beforehand, but then when I actually have the dog, a name comes out of nowhere and it just sticks! My greyhound Bruce is the last dog I named, and I have to say, I have no idea why! He is just such a Bruce!


I like the beer theme though. Maybe Hopper? For hops . . .

Puppy Update

So we picked up our little guy on Saturday. It was a 3 hour drive from were we live...He did soooo good in the car. He just slept in my arms for most of the drive. I was amazed!

Anyway we decided not to go with the beer theme...(thanks anyway for all of your great suggestions)...we were pretty much set on Brewer or Porter...but once we got him home that all changed

So here''s the story how we named him:
We thought of his name when we got him home. He was in our bedroom and our closet door has a full length mirror which when he saw himself he backed up slowly (at first we thought he was scared of his reflection) and then he shocked us...he charged his reflection like a bull!!! We were watching the final day of the PBR (professional bull riding) on TV and one of the bulls is on and his name is Camo (like Camouflage)...this bull has the same coloring as our little puppy....sooo we decided to name him Camo after the bull.

Camo is a cute, cute name for a such a cute dog. I wanted to name my kitty a beer-related name, and he was actually named Porter for about 2 days, but I kept calling him Potter on accident... So the name was promptly changed to Pilsner. We wanted to stick with ''P'' names, because Kitty #1 was named Pinky (hence my PS user name)

Sammyj right now he''s about 3 maybe 4 pounds...He wont get much bigger then 15-20, and he''ll probably stand about a foot and a half tall....I''m estimating about shin level.

Aww, Camo!! Funny how names just kind of happen sometimes regardless of the choices prior to the pick-up...
