I second Art Nouveau''s question - how long did it take to acquire those lovely ensembles?

Ladies, how often do you buy yourself something vs. receive it as a gift from your significant other (or a family member, e.g. parents)?

I''m really curious what percentage of income do people sock away for jewelry purchases? Do you need to have a special event (birthday, anniversary, Christmas) or do you buy "just because"?

Your welcome AN, thank you for your kind words!!! Ahhh, there''s just so many to get. My list changes daily. It''s taken a long time to put these together. I think that''s part of the fun for me, always on the hunt. Plus it gives my hubby an easy way to give gifts. He learned early that he is always safe giving jewelry as a gift. The amethyst set is really the only one that was pretty much complete. My hubby came home from a trip to Asia with the pendant, bracelet and earrings. The earrings were studs though which I don''t wear so I had them reset with some old diamond earrings into the danglies. The ring was added later. I''m embarassed to say that I do buy clothes to go with my jewelry. When I see something I think to myself, oooo that would go great with.......

Thanks for the compliments on my picture taking but I have a long way to go. I copied everyone else here and asked for a Canon SD850 IS for Christmas. It is a great camera and takes very good macro shots. My daughter has since given up her Sony and switched to this camera as well. She''s a softball player and coach and it takes fantastic action shots.

Hi Rosa, I''m OLD, it''s taken years to collect mainly because I do not buy much for myself. I usually get my pieces as a gift from my hubby and sometimes from my children. My daughter and son pooled together last Christmas and got me the peridot earrings to finish that set. Usually it''s for special events and not just because [this last few months have been an exception].

Do you always wear the same colored stones with your clothes? i.e. green with green, or, do you ever wear colors that just go, but not match? I wore a bright lime green shirt today, and I thought my Aqua actually looked good with it, but is that a fashion faux paux??

You are inspiring me to be bad Michelle. I was at Bailey Banks and Biddle and there was this quite lovely citrine set... earrings and a pendant. And I was like, HMMMM. The pendant particularly was a lovely piece. And while I''ve normally thought that I could just get some nice white diamond earrings then switch out pendants... I found myself lingering over the earrings... and looking for a matching ring too!!! I found one that would work with the set and was like.... hmm, bracelet?? It was... FUN.

I think blue sapphire earrings would be truely lovely as well, of course. What shape/style are you looking for?

I agree with Gypsy that you are a bad influence, inspiring us with all your gorgeous sets! I was at the gem show yesterday looking for casual chocolate brown South Sea pearls dangling earrings and I ended up with a set. I just wanted some simple brown pearl earrings set in rose gold to go with all the brown tone clothing that I have bought over the last two years. Out of so many dealers selling pearls, I couldn''t find what I want, until I was about to leave and I stopped by a dealer that I have previously bought from. He has a gorgeous set that he just made, 14mm chocolate brown SS pearls set in rose gold and white gold pave. I asked to look at the earrings which looked really nice on. Then he showed me the lovely matching pendant, which I don''t really need. But I thought of all your sets and I decided it looks better to have the whole set. Of course, I went way over my budget and I am having second thoughts whether I should keep the pendant. There are lots of other things on my wish list.

I was going to put it on my list for my grandmother (who is now insisting that she MUST get me jewelry as a wedding gift, actually its a funny story I''ll post over in BWW) as a ''possible.'' I really loved the pendant and the pear citirne on it was TDF but the earrings were mismatched, one was amazing but the other was lighter and windowed. And the earrings were a 1/3 off (probably because of the mismatch) but the pendant wasn''t... and I suddenly wanted a set!

This is what I wear with the calla pendant. Calla earrings are on the list so in the mean time I wear these with or without the danglies.......

Catmom, I went to Costco today and I saw a pair of earrings that I think they perfect match your Calla. I tried to take pictures by my camera phone, but nothing comes out good enough to post. They are studs with 4 small diamond together inside a non- diamond halo, looks like a small version of bottom part of Mr. Calla

Uh huh. You certainly have.

I ideally want a RHR, earring and pendant combo. I don''t know what stones I want in them... I like so many I think it just depends on what I find. You definitely have insprired me.

I DO have two london blue topazes that I want re-cut by Jeff White then set. So that maybe the resolution. Then I''d have to find earrings as those two would be a ring and pendant respectively.

Gypsy, a RHR, pendant and earring combo sounds good to me! I bet your two blue topazes will be amazing recut by Jeff. I love my topaz set and get tons of compliments on them. I think it''s because the color just stands out so much and they''re sparkly! I can''t wait to see what you come up with.
