And I love Barry for cutting them and for shipping them SO fast, and for sending fun little bonus gifts with some of his stones. Last time I got a gem holder (which I desperately needed) and this time I got a small piece of spinel rough that was pretty but not clear enough to cut.

I'm definitely doing stackers in silver with these, but I keep going back and forth about prongs vs. bezel. As a few others have pointed out, it might be a shame to cover any part of these stones which makes me want prongs. On the other hand, as a general rule I like bezels better for stackers and these babies are DEFINITELY bright enough to shine in bezels. OPINIONS, PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!! :D

Also, please excuse the crap photos. I was in a bit of a rush and didn't dare taking them out of the box.

Lol. A new spinel lover is born...

Fantastic! They are going to look lovely :)

Amazing, as usual for Barry! ♥

They are beautiful! Even nicer than his photo.

I love them too! Beautiful delicate colors...looking forward to seeing the stack finished.

Delicious pastel!

Oh that mix of colors are gorgeous!!!!! stackers would be beautiful!

How terrific they are individually -- and a greater joy together! What are the specs on them, Kelli? They'll make knockout stackers.

They look great together!

Beautiful! Glad that you love them!

Great colour combination for stackers! Love it!!!

OMG! I LOVE THEM TOO!!! ;-) No seriously, I do - they'll make beautiful stackers, and I hope you share them with us when they're complete!

Can't wait to see your finished jewelry! The spinels are sooooo gorgeous!

Really lovely! The would look great in one of those swirly rings too with diamonds. Really pretty find and a great price!

ETA- sorry I just read that you are definitely doing stackers with it so ignore the photo. Eager to see them done!

great score! those look so yummy~~ (I am a teensy bit jelly~~ they are so nice!) :appl:

Sparkly, eh? (yeah, I'm Canadian...)

Since they're all spinels, then prongs shouldn't make them potentially rubbing an issue (?)...But if you like bezels better, then I'd probably go with that. Is there such a thing as a "minimal bezel"?

Stunning set and sooo pretty :appl:  :appl:

Oooh yeah! :lickout: can be done in silver/argentium...

Interestingly, not many stacker sets are prong set it seems, possibly because of the framing quality of a bezel with a small stone. What diameter are these babies again? http://www.etsy.com/market/birthstone_stackers

Thanks everyone! I am DEFINITELY a brand new spinel fan!

ilovegemstones, never apologize for throwing another idea into the mix; that ring is beautiful! I've just been anxious to start a little collection of stackers and these seem too perfect for the job to skip over.

Two of these babies are 5.2mm and the other is 5. I really don't see a difference, of course.

I think I have decided on prongs, despite my feeling that bezels generally work better for stacks. They're so sparkly and I want to let plenty of light in. I did search Etsy for "prong set gemstone stackers" and found a whole bunch I thought were pretty. I think I'll go with something with a nice thin base so they can sit as flush as possible. Off to look now…

Thank you Kelli :). I have never bought from the vendour and just saw the ring in the last couple of days but it is from MelissaCaronJeweler on etsy. She wrote to me that her setting is $1700 if you provide your own stones.
Prongs will look lovely with these!
