Hi All,

I am trying to decide if this is a good deal or not... Please lend me your expert advice. I want to purchase an engagement ring for my girlfriend and have come across this diamond, but I have no idea what I''m doing--please help!

Here''s the stone:

2.01ct Cushion Cut

Measurments 7.29 x 7.18 x 4.70 mm
Depth 65.5%
Table 74%
Polish Good
Symmetry Good
Clarity SI 2
Color E
Fluorescence None
EGL USA Certified

Price: $9,500

What do you think?

Thanks,

TB

Personally, I had found a diamond with perfect specs for an 1.5 carat emerald cut, color D, GIA cert for around $9000. But the only thing was that it was an sl1 clarity and I passed on it. I debated it for a while but I have a ring with sl2 diamond baguettes and I do not enjoy being able to see the inclusions whatsoever.
No regrets for me not buying it though, a month more of searching and I''m able to get a better deals somewhere else online. I''m by no means an expert, just another novice diamond buyer searching for The One.

Have you seen the diamond in person? if so, what do you think about it? The table is a bit large, typically the table should be smaller than the depth.

It is EGL USA graded, not up to par with AGS or GIA but one of the better EGL labs anyway. You should compare it to other GIA diamonds to see if it really is an E color and if you do buy do get it independently appraised to make sure you are buying what they are selling.

I would do a PS search and see what else is out there personally
