Hello All,
I've been lurking for quite some type. I thank you ALL for the fabulous education you have given me over the past year or two. My DL (Darling Love) said he had the money for us to pick out a stone so I finally got enough nerve to reserve the following august vintage round. We hope to receive it next week. Good Old Gold has been exceptionally wonderful to work with. Sarah is a gem herself and Jonathan was equally as pleasant.

This one seems to have a larger table. The inclusion is in the middle but I am told it is eye clean and not at all noticeable. I am so very hoping I can find this stone (what you call here) mind clean. It's a 1.24 I SI2

 Gorgeous stone!!! That is beautiful! How exciting for you - what are your setting plans???

That is my favorite cut of AVR! I think it will be gorgeous and it does look like it might be eyeclean!!!

Well all our money went to the stone so we will have to save again for the setting. I am looking at a setting similar to this. What do you think? http://www.overnightdiamonds.com/Catalog/ViewItem/362923

That design is beautiful (but of course that one is for a 2 ct stone). It is a lot like Beverley K. Good Old Gold sells it. The prices will be higher than the ring you linked, but they are probably better quality.

Beautiful stone! Lucky you!

Can they send you a video to confirm this??? I'm sorry but right in the dead center...that'd annoy me to no end....

No possiblilty of seeing if a stone is eyeclean from the videos. You have to see it in person.

You could ask them to send you a series of pics at 2in, 4in, 6in, 8in, etc away from the stone where they point out the location of the inclusion in each pic. That way you'll clearly be able to see at what distance the inclusion becomes obvious, and whether it will bother you or not.

In general, inclusions under the table make me nervous but that doesn't mean that it isn't worth your closer consideration.

AVR's are simply the BEST! Great choice...can't wait to see it set.

I have had that stone shipped to me to look at for few days. And yes, since it's right in the center, unless you try really hard and look close it is eye clean. It's a beautiful stone and good luck with everything =)

OMGosh minmin001 .... what did you think of the stone? Why did you decide against it? Did you compare it to any other rounds as far as fire and brilliance?

I was actually looking at the 1.26 L with flour (too expensive) and and this one was suggested along with the 1.14 K. I immediately thought no way because of that table inclusion but Sarah said she showed the stone to a couple of people who said unless you know the inclusion is there it is near impossible to see. I will admit ... I am nervous because of the inclusion AND because it is a cloud that may hinder brilliance/fire. My DL is concerned about the Isee2 being 9.6 (not 9.8) and the Mega Scope showing mid-Excellent and not maxed out on the excellent side. For my DL and I this is a lot of money and of course we want the best AVR we can get in our price range.

Maybe minmin001 can share more on her impression of the stone, the inclusion, the fire and brilliance.

The stone is absolutely gorgeous and minmin has confirmed that it is eyeclean. While highly magnified images can look scary, it does not surprise me at all that this stone would be eyeclean. The picture you just posted is beautiful! I think you'll be much happier with I color over L.

I had nothing against the stone, it is gorgeous. It was just not a good time for me to purchase. We are saving money for downpayment on a house. And in order to get this I have to put my current diamond on sale plus get new setting etc which just gets expensive. I currently have a H&A RB and I love them both where I don't think it's worth to spend a large amount of money to change right now =)

Thank you Minmin for the response. I'm sorry it didn't work out. If it does not work out for me I will be getting a RB H&A as well.

Thank you all for your comments and support. It helps to calm my anxiousness.

New York had an intense snow storm so hopefully the GOG employees are not too snowed in. Maybe the AVR will show up before the weekend.

DL and I went setting shopping this past Saturday. I can't really find exactly what I'm looking for but all the vendors want to know where I got the stone and what it is and then I get the deer-in-the-headlights look from them. One vendor told me that it was a poorly cut stone. That ALL of those stones are poorly cut (yet he had never seen a GOG AVR). I had another vendor tell me he could get me that same stone. I was polite but I'm still trying to figure out why. :saint:

This leads me to believe that the setting search is going to be a PITA. Thanks for the Beverly Kay advise. I may go that route. I'm also looking at Amavida which are shown on the Gabriel & Sons site.
