Hehe, I know, that was my initial reaction to. But, the thing is, we''ve already had the discussion about the beginning of the day (we''re getting married at the registry office in his hometown, not a chapel or anything), and he doesn''t especially see the need to be surprised at the registry office and would prefer not to be--mostly because he doesn''t really get ''surprised'' and would feel put on the spot if people were expecting some big emotional response to seeing me in my dress for the first time, because he won''t get like that. Even if he felt especially sappy to see me in it, if there are other people around, he''d be too self-conscious to react in any way. As a result, for us it makes more sense for us to get ready in our hotel room/lodge together, where he will feel comfortable getting goopy with me, and then go to the registry office and surprise everyone else.Date: 8/21/2009 10:51:53 PM

NO NO NO NO!!!!! It''s such a special moment for a man to see his future wife coming down the isle dressed up in her wedding gown, I wouldn''t take that away from them, even if they want to. I think he would be happier in the end seeing you for the first time on the day.
That''s the current plan, anyway. His mother has been interfering so that may not ultimately be what happens, but that''s the current plan, and I think I like this better than hoping/expecting him to react differently than normal because it''s his wedding, and then...he doesn''t. I want him to feel comfortable telling me how happy he is and how beautiful I look, and that will only happen when it''s just the two of us alone.
