I'm sure you people are getting quite tired of me. I'm getting quite tired of me!!

I tried the tin foil bezel on my sleepy neon mahenge this morning and it just killed the stone! No bezels for her. She needs prongs. I also put her together with white gold, yellow gold, and rose gold. The winner is the yellow gold. It highlights the neon quality without turning the stone into a so-so ruby looking thing.

You all know I love Adzia, and she's made several wonderful pieces for me, so I searched through her sold pile and found this solitaire. I would have it done in 18k yellow gold with no diamond sides. I'd love to hear your opinions!

It looks very open and should allow your Mahenge to look very natural, plus I know yellow gold is just perfect for it too. :Up_to_something:

Yes!!! :) My favourite so far.

YES, YES! What I liked about the others was the detailing and embellishments, but I felt they all dominated and competed with your stone.

This setting is the perfect compromise - your sleepy mahenge will be the star, but it won't just be a plain, ordinary solitaire, with all that delicate detailing. It will look beautiful and handmade just for your stone. :appl: :appl: :appl: Good job! :appl:

oh, definitely my favorite by far!!! But not even just a couple of random diamonds sprinkled in the swirls? i think that would look cool and provide just a touch of nice bling with the Mahenge. either way though it'll be gorgeous!

This is my favorite setting you've picked out for your stone so far. Very veyr pretty!! :appl:

+1 my favorite so far too!

This is so pretty...and loving the band of this ring. You know, I wasn't surprised to see this one! And then, I remembered something I had stacked away in amongst the bookmarks...very much like this design. I'm wondering if even a half bezel, set either north/south or east/west might be too much for the stone? Do you think a 'skimpy' half bezel might be an option, so it just hugs the ends?

This the one I found...there are a few options http://www.studio311.com/studio/temporary/starrynight.html

Do you remember someone else who had a sleepy spinel - a stunning stone, and I think it was set into an Alishan setting?

<----off to hunt it out!

I like this one the best too. I think it is beautiful as is your stone.

I agree this is the best one yet. Simple!!

band isn't wide enough. sorry.

i see a band as wide as the stone..........and this could be widened using the design easily enough.

I'm going to put another option in the mix! I also see a band as wide as the stone...stone set north south...in something like one of these - scroll down to the yellow gold filigree rings on the rings page.

I just so see your stone set in a band like these, as wide as the stone is long, perhaps middle finger right hand? Just 18k yellow..no diamonds and the stone set as low as possible.

Aren't we helping you a lot! ;)

I was thinking of mentioning green lake jewelers to you because they do similar styles to this. I really love this look for your stone.

well, you did say you wanted something "chunky"!!!!!!

I'm lovin the floral band with scattered sparkles and that would rock your super stone.

Yes, yes, yes!!! I love this. Love it.

My only question is whether you think the stone would sit a bit high. You could maybe ask for it to be set low if you think it could easily get snagged on things. It might not bother you though as is.

Definitely yellow gold, glad that you decided that:-)

I prefer a wider band about as wide as your stone with the stone set fairly low and with nice fluid claw prongs. Maybe also look at Hunts County or whatever they are called (who made kelpie's awesome cocktail ring and Yssie got a quote from them for her reset) they may also have some great options and I think their pricing is really awesome!
