If you come at the US with a baseball bat and we take it from you and beat the crap out of you don''t go crying foul.
Yep - that about sums it up for me, too.

i am not disputing hunting him down and capturing him. i''m not disputing bombing him and if he died in that action, so be it. however, i am saying it was murder once he was in our custody.
Am I missing something?
Iv seen no evidence that he didnt die of his wounds?
He would be more valuable alive at that point anyway.

I''m totally confused as well. Wasn''t your position that we shouldn''t have bombed him? That we should have tried him?

Hm. I was a little skeptical of plastering his face everywhere and framing it like we did because it seemed a little grotesque, as well as easily faked if we wanted to (I don't think it was fake, just saying I don't see the point).

I also do think it should be remembered that we had to kill four (I believe?) civilians to get to him. I'm not saying we shouldnt have bombed that house; I'm saying we should remember and take responsibilty. Two different animals.

I actually think that if it were possible to do so, we should have shot him in the knees and dragged him through a public trial and then put him in solitary for the rest of his natural life. Killing him like this made him a martyr and gave him what he wanted. There is something for the victims, not just the criminal, in a trial--even one with a foregone conclusion-- that is very important as a chance to publicly redress wrongs. Hussein was a terrible man as well, killed hundreds of his own people and HE gets a trial...even through we all know what he did wrong.

That''s the same thing they said about my Great Great Great Grandfather, during the American Indian ''wars'' of the 1870''s to 1890''s. Now we all know the American Indians were Patriots, and are ashamed of America''s history, in that regard.
