Hey guys, now I''m having second thoughts about the setting. This is not the same setting that I had originally chosen and now I love the center stone still but I don''t love the setting. I "like" the setting, but I don''t love it. My husband thinks I''m nuts. The setting I was going to get looked just like the last princess cut picture posted in the e-ring forum pics eye-candy on page 32 on Feb.25. It had small princess cuts channel set down the sides. Then my jeweler thought this one was better since I had a large stone. At that moment I agreed but now I''m not so sure. Please give me your opinions on the current setting and the setting I was going to get and any suggestions with pics? Help!!!!

Be honest too, It won''t hurt my feelings.

Christy, is this the setting that you thought you wanted at first?

I really like this one but I think yours is beautiful too.

If I had to choose, though, I''d go with this one, I think. (but it''s very close!)

Here is the setting I was going to get and didn''t. Do you like it better?

The other setting.jpg

Thanks Patty, I just moved the picture too. Yes, that''s the one. Thanks for helping me all the time with these pics. I think I agree. Ooops....

Hey Make sure you''re sure!

You should love your ring.
Get the setting that you really want. It shouldn''t be that big a deal to change it now.

What about this baby:

Not helping am I?

That''s a beauty too. You''re just trying to confuse me, aren''t you? Thanks. But, which one do you like better? Pretend I''m taking a poll.

I love them all, are you kidding?

What about a variation on the one you posted like this from Precision Set?

(the one on the left)

Ow! That hurt, three more! I just love those diamonds down the sides..........more and more...you are right, you aren''t helping! So many settings, so little time........

Hi Christy:

Love your big rock! Is there any way you can go try on the settings? I think thats the best way and you can see if you prefer those over your 3 stone look. I like them all and think it will be hard to choose. I recently changed my set to a pave setting. Wishing you the best!

Christy,

Ahhhh, we should all have such problems!

just kidding....

I honestly like the setting you currently have bc with that style you have limitless options for anniversary bands (if you are wearing this as your e-ring I''d like to see what your wedding band looks like)

I often look at erings w/stones down the sides and wonder what my future options would be...

Of course you have to go with your heart! If you "like" your ring but don''t LOVE it, that says it all, ''cause with that center stone you should be wowed!!!!

Alexah''s beauty has baguettes.

I''ve already called my jeweler and the next mounting show is in April. She said that whatever I want is fine so I can have more time to let it grow on me. I would imagine that the smith could take it out and I could do what I did the first time. That is set the diamond on top of the setting and imagine. That is a good point about the limitless option for a W-band. This is a right hand ring but you never know, I may pull a switcheroo now and then. I think the problem is that the ring is just not how I imagined. I thought it would grow on me but it hasn''t. I like it and my husband still likes it better but I don''t look at it and get goo goo over it like I did with my marquise. Keep those opinions and suggestions coming. Thanks!

Christy

That one is real nice, Sevens. It really shows the size of the "Rock".

So this is a right hand ring? Not that it matters, but the other setting you are considering would make it look more like an engagement ring. I like the setting you have now better for a right hand ring because it is the "past, present, and future" look. But that''s just crazy old me, and I''m not the lucky person wearing that rock!
31.gif

Stretch, That is exactly what the jeweler said when I was going to get the other setting. Do you think that really matters or can I wear whatever I want as a rhr? I think there was a thread about that a while back, wasn''t there?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, this is for a RHR?

I like the three stone then for the RHR. I don't know why- I just like a three stone on the right hand-sometimes.

Christy, you can wear whatever you want as a RHR!! Heck, I found a ring that was called a "promise ring" that I just had to have as a RHR.

So I didn''t mean to say that you couldn''t wear that as a RHR, just that I would prefer the three stone myself as a RHR. But see, YOU are the person (and maybe your husband too) who is paying for this setting, and YOU are the person who has to wear it and look at it everyday!! So if you really don''t LOVE this setting, then no matter what I think or your husband thinks, YOU have to be happy! And that means getting a setting that you LOVE.

So in closing

I would not let the fact that is might not look like a traditional RHR stop you from getting what you love!

Good Point Stretch.

One thing I have learned when it comes to diamonds/ering , is that it could on FOREVER. There is always another setting out there, another stone....you could drive yourself mad!
26.gif

That being said, if you really want to change because your heart is telling you that you prefer something else for your ering other than the 3 stone look (your ring is just scrumptious, btw
3.gif
), then go for it. I like the channel-set princesses on the sides myself.

No worries, Stretch, I will definitely make the final conclusion on my own, but, I just wanted to see if I was crazy. It seems that everyone I''ve seen in person just loves it except me. I like it, don''t get me wrong, but I''m just not sure I love it. Of course, good right hand ring etiquette, if there is such a thing, is good to know too. It was just funny you said that because the jeweler said the same thing and said that the other setting was too popular, that everyone had that. And I just value the opinions of the PS''er''s in their infinite wisdom.

Don''t stop now, ya''ll are helping!

Hi Christy24,
35.gif

I love a princess cut, I have always thought that it should never "sit" alone. I absolutley adore a SQ cute stone, but for some reason I always think of a princess in some sort of a three stone. Just like the one you got right now! (just my opinion since you asked).

So, as said above, you should go with what you feel like, never mind what the rest of the world thinks, if you want something different, go for it, if not, than leave it the way it is (''cause it''s a beauty!!!
30.gif
).

Bottomline...... It''s up to you

You guys are great! I''m still so confused. So keep talking. I''m enjoying the insight. I like both but I can''t have both. I wish I could have an interchangeable setting. How cool would that be? Just pop that baby out and switch settings.

I like the channel set princess cuts on the sides myself. It think that ring has a very sleek and elegant look to it because
all of the diamonds have straight sides. That setting also makes your center stone "pop" more.

The channel set rounds are not as appealing to me with your center stone because you would be mixing rounds with a Princess cut.

So you like the second ring better than the first, Cflutist? The first one is the setting I have now. The 3 stone. The second is the one I think I should have gotten. The channel set down the sides. So many pretty ones......

Christy,
Like cflutist, I also like the setting with the princess cuts channel set down the sides of the ring. It really puts the focus on your beautiful princess cut stone and is clean, classy and elegant. Just my 0.2, hope this helps!! Just make sure this is what you want, don''t do it if you don''t love it.

I do like the second ring better, but if you notice that ring is also very similar to my ring.
The second ring is what I would call a "just the facts mam" kind of ring, it has just enough
embellishment to "show off" the center stone.

I know that 3 stone rings are very popular right now, and DeBeers has done a wonderful job marketing the
"Past, Present and the Future", and will shortly change that marketing campaign to "I Forever Do". However,
I like the more "traditional" style of e-ring (but maybe that is because I am older too). My sister-in-law
has a 3-stone Emerald Cut ring which is very pretty also.

Your ring is very beautiful as it is now, however, your ring should "speak" to you.
You are the one that needs to be happy with it. It doesn't matter what we think.
If I followed the PS mantra, then I would have a RB like 99% of the people here.
But in my case the pear "spoke" to me.

Was just thinking ... if you had done the channel set one, then you could get
a matching channel set princess eternity band. Now that would be cool.

I''m also liking the channel-set ring better. To be honest, I think three-stone rings are pretty but they just seem overmarketed and trendy and for these reasons, I think they look better as fun rings, not long-term eng/wedding rings.

I do think you should wait a bit to decide for the very reason Jennifer suggested: there ALWAYS will be other rings that will attract your attention. You need to find a ring you love enough that you can still drool over other rings, but truly love your own ring more.

I''d go with this one ... (sorry if that''s not the answer you wanted.)

Princessb.jpg

Yours is beautiful, a seriously gorgeous, but I think the one above makes the centre stone stand out more and since yours is so awesome it seems like a perfect setting ...

(And I also like the one above better than all the other last-minute options that have just been posted) lol!

I vot for the last one...like the idea of the smaller princess stones on the sides......
