i love it.........very classy. the other seems more usual..........

I prefer yours as it is to the one with the inset stones.

I love your ring as it is, but overall I prefer the channel setting to a 3-stone style. However, I agree with others when they say I think of the 3 stone more as a right hand ring than the channel set ring. But if you prefer the channel set, you should wear whatever you want on your right hand.

And an added bonus to changing to the channel setting is that you can take the sidestone and have them made into a beautiful pair of princess earrings!!! That would make up my mind right there. A beautiful, channel set RHR, and a pair of studs to match!

Christy,

Hi. I like the princess stone with the channel set princess stones. That is exactly what I have (from BlueNile). I originally wanted the kind of ring that you currently have, but then I changed my mind. I am very happy with my decision. I like the channel set one better because it has just as much sparkle, but it brings more focus on the center stone. It makes the center stone look bigger and brighter. When you have bigger stones on the side of your main stone, I think it takes away from the center stone some.

Your current ring is more like an anniversary ring... the past, present, and future together kind of thing. I like the Vatche solitare setting that has princess stones in a channel setting... and it has a ''V'' of small diamonds on the side of the ring. It is beautiful. Go check it out at dvatche.com.

Christy... go check out this setting. It is absolutely beautiful!!! I think you should change your setting to this and then post pics!! You will love it. If your not perfectly satisfied, and you just got your new ring, then you might not ever be. Now is the time that you should just LOVE it!!

Thanks everybody! I do appreciate the advice. I couldn''t find the ring you were talking about Windy. It''s late though, I may have missed it.

I think I''m going with the channel set. The moral of this story is that you should stick with what you wanted in the first place. I do like both but I do think I''d like my original choice better, the channel set. Three stone is pretty but everyone has that. Thank you for all your help!

My husband is just amazed that there are others as fascinated with diamonds as I am. Thanks for making me look more "normal."

Christy,
Like cflutist, I also like the setting with the princess cuts channel set down the sides of the ring. It really puts the focus on your beautiful princess cut stone and is clean, classy and elegant. Just my 0.2, hope this helps!! Just make sure this is what you want, don''t do it if you don''t love it.

I''m adding my vote for the ring with the channel set stones. My taste goes more for classic and feminine styles. I think that''s what the this ring has. Plus, as others have said, it puts more focus on your gorgeous diamond, rather than the "setting". Does that make any sense?

The three stone ring is beautiful, too. But I would have to say it''s a bit more trendy and not as classic and traditional as a solitaire-type setting. What pops out at me when I look at that ring is the style of the ring itself, not the diamond.

If your style is more timeless and traditional, I''d go with the channel set. If you are more "up to the minute" and want the latest in fashionable look, I''d go with the three stone. I hope this helps rather than confuse you more. YOU need to be happy with your ring. That''s the most important thing.

Judging by the responses in this thread, I trust that I made a good decision with the engagement ring I just purchased (princess with channel sets posted on pg 1)! hehe

Christy, by the way, your ring is quite stunning!

I do like your current setting most of all.

Anyway. the one with diamonds set in the shank is fine too, but it would be really, really high with a large stone. You can have diamonds on the shank of course, but not in that setting - something alike made to fit the size of your stone without making it stick out a mile above the finger would do.

Yes Campoli, you did make a good choice! When I saw your picture in the Eye Candy I said that''s it! That''s the one I almost got! That made my picture comparison much easier. Thanks.

Oh g*d no- keep what you have, it''s stunning.
