Looks good.

stunning.

Its a beauty, great size and G SI is a sweet spot for many, excellent choice!

Thanks for the confirmation Stone_cold11, JulieN and Lorelei! I was concerned bout the clouds as there seems to be so many but was relieved to hear it''s eyeclean. G shouldn''t show yellow, should it?

Also, I saw a lot of BGD settings have a hidden gem. Anyone know how muc BGD would charge to have that added or things engraved on the ring? Please let me know if I should start a new thread for this. Thanks!

No, G will not look yellow unless you are someone who is very, very sensitive to color.

Start another thread, may get more response that way.

You are most welcome!

A G colour of that cut quality will not look in any way yellow or even warm. You might get the very very rare eye be able to tell the difference between an unset G colour which is similar and a D, but that would be about it.

You could start a new thread but it might be best to ask Lesley or Brian concerning prices for surprise stones and engraving.

Thanks Stone_cold11 and Lorelei again for the color reassurance. The reason for my concern is because I think I''m pretty sensitive to color. I currently own a G and a J and can definitely see yellow on the J as soon as it was given to me. For the G, I''m quite content with it on most days but I do see tints of yellow on certain days or if i look at it long enough. It''s actually the one in my avatar, although it''s much much whiter IRL. I was hoping that my ering would be a better G, but not sure how to confirm this with Lesley. She did say it''s an amazing stone and ''the G''s giving us a blindingly white stone''. So I guess I''ll cross my fingers and hope for the best while I wait for it to come :)

On another note, we contacted Lesley on the weekend and put in the order for the setting with a surprise amethyst. I''m sssooooo excitedddddd!!!!!!!!! Can''t wait for it to be finished in two weeks :)

Which lab graded your G and J stones that you have now?

Good luck.

SC is right, this can make a big difference....

And it sounds as if things are really moving in a great direction with this project!!!

Thanks SC and Lorelei. Both stones are EGL. I''ve learned that their grades can be lowered but I compared my G to my mom''s GIA G stone and they don''t look different.

Also, looking at the BGD stone now with so many clouds on it, I''m becoming concern again. I know Lesley emailed me and said she looked at the stone said that it''s eye clean but I don''t know why... I still don''t feel very reassured as there are so many of them. I just read a few posts regarding cloud clarity and some have said it might affect the diamond''s performance.... Thoughts? Sorry I''m bringing this up again. Just freaking out a bit... :S

Hmm... How did you compare the color? From the side or viewing them from the top? Color grading is done from the side. Maybe your mom''s G stone is not that well cut too? Not that well cut stone will tend to display more color than well cut stone.

For the clarity, the clouds should not be anything to worry about. This is because the inclusion characteristics are listed in order of significance, so the one causing the SI1 grade is the crystal not the cloud. Also the comment stated that additional clouds are not shown, meaning that they are less significant than those plotted. It is only something to look out for if the comment is along the line ''clarity based on clouds not shown''. Ask BGD if it affects the light performance if you are worried.

With clouds noted on the clarity plot of an SI1 stone NOT from a trusted vendor like BG then I would advise to get them checked out, however in this case I don't think you have any need to worry with one of Brian and Lesley's diamonds, they screen their stones very carefully as do all the vendors with inventory diamonds, they won't sell one with detrimental clouds.
