Opinion on Emerald Ring for Wife

Hey everyone,

I am hoping to purchase an Emerald and diamond setting ring for my wife in the next couple weeks and would like to get your opinion on the ring below. The emerald is .42 ct and diamonds are .52 ct.

I must say that I am leaning towards using a PS recommended vendor but I do like this ring but value your opinion.

Depends on price and the level of treatment for the emerald

Price is 2,181...it's oiled but I don't know to what degree.

Very pretty ring! I would want to know the level of oiling AND the type of oil used. Some types are dyed (not good) and some types will fade into an unattractive colour (not good). What is the colour and clarity of the accent diamonds?

I am buying it from a well regarded Virginia company called Fink's but as you might imagine, they don't know much detail about the stone other than that it has been oiled. The shared that the diamonds are G/Si.

Frankly, I like (not love) the ring alot but because there is much unknown about the stone, I am reticent to purchase the ring. They do have a 30 day cash back return policy so I could go and get it appraised and return it if there was a problem. That said, I could avoid all of that mess, if I just purchased each item separately and had the ring built.

I think that the emerald has a lovely color. I think at that price point I would want a report to indicate amount of treatment.
