I have not worked with this company. However, I would not consider an EGL SI1 emerald cut online. SI1 is often too low to go in an EC because they generally show inclusions better than brilliant cut diamonds. As EGL is often considered lenient with their grading, this diamond could be even lower in clarity. And sorry but what is so rare about the setting? That setting is quite common and even ''generic'' in the sense that many custom jewelers would copy it exactly for you. And the diamond is very deep. It will look smaller than it is.
Personally, I don''t like it when a company makes it look like a ring or diamond is discounted so much and you better go and quick buy it while it lasts. It just makes me think it was way overpriced to begin with.
On the bright side, they do have a 7 day return policy.

My particular engagement ring came from Galleria Diamonds and we had a wonderful experience with them. However, we only bought the setting and not the center diamond. The diamond that we could''ve gotten with the setting was not of very good quality, according to our standards. Galleria diamonds was honest with us and told us that their diamonds are actually graded one or two grades higher than they would be with GIA or AGS, which is why we decided to purchase the center stone seperately. The smaller diamonds in the setting were graded correctly according to two other appraisers though.
Thank you Mrs Darlin Joy! Actually, we purchased the setting for less money than the ring's listed price because they also had it available as a setting only. My center is a RB from Martin Sheffield. After the center stone was set, it was just slightly more expensive (by a couple of hundred dollars I think) than the listed price (with a 1 carat diamond from them). However, the center stone we purchased was MUCH better in clarity and quality (and certified by GIA) than they would've provided, and only slightly smaller (0.75 carat). Also, the appraisals of my ring was much more than the total purchase price (about 2-3 thousand in the lower appraisal). However, I could've just been lucky and I'm not sure what the appraisal value of just the setting would have been since I had the whole ring appraised. Also, my fiance did all the dealing with them and it's possible that there may be more to the story about his experience than I know. I've just never heard complaint from him and we were satisfied with the product and resulting appraisals.Date: 3/23/2006 8:51:17 PM

Well, that is good news that you had a wonderful experience with them. Your setting is very pretty.Did they charge you more for the setting alone, or about the same you think since you weren't buying the center stone thru them? Some places will charge you more for the setting if you don't buy the center diamond with them too. Your center is a RB ... right?![]()
Have a nice evening,
