Opinions on a loose diamond for a bezel setting please !

Hi Jenny. You'll get a much better response if you move your thread to Rocky Talk. Hit the report concern button and ask the mods to move it.

That said I have an EC purchased thru James Allen set in a bezel ( a Sholdt semi bezel) and love the look you have chosen.
The diamond looks good to me but some of the other PSers are fantasic at suggesting stones so once the thread is moved see what they say or recommend.

This looks like a very pretty (and unique) combination. I really like the sleek look of the bezel & how it really shows off the elegance of the EC diamond. Since you're looking at an H color, that will work wonderfully w/ the white metal. So, I don't see any issue with your choices and would just have a few questions for the JA folks (which may already be answered in the details on their website, but I don't know).

1) Can the setting accommodate an EC your size (especially wrt the depth)? I'm sure it won't be an issue, but there may be size limitations/concerns so I'd ask just to know for sure.

2) Does the setting sit high enough up off of your finger to allow a wedding band to slip beneath it? I like my wband to sit flush w/ my ering, so (for me) the ering would have to sit high enough to allow for that. Some women prefer that their wband sits at the edge of the center stone, so just make sure that whatever you prefer is feasible with this design.

3) Speaking of wbands, do they have a wband that they'd suggest as a good match for the setting you're looking at?

4) Regarding the diamond, ask one of their gemologists to give you an expert opinion on the light performance of the stone. Step cuts have a different reaction in lighting conditions than the brilliants (you know, rounds, ovals, etc), but they can still fire up a room when they're cut well. So ask them how they'd rate the performance of this stone vs some of their other ECs and ask for their opinion about the best setting to really let them sparkle and shine.

Hope this helps. And Woofmama's right, when you get the answers from JA, I'd suggest you post follow up questions on RockyTalky (if you'd like more input) to help you before you actually pull the trigger!

I think that would be an AWESOME Ring!!! I love the sleek contemporary look of that setting - very bold and avant garde of you!! Your EC looks great - but I am not a step cut expert. Hopefully someone like Gypsy will see this - she's GREAT with EC's and asschers!

Fantastic choices - can't wait to see it finished!
