Opinions on amethysts

I'm still looking for an amethyst (or two). Does anybody have opinions on these? (Yeah, that's a stupid question, I know.)

Of the two I think the round is the nicest, however I don't care for either one. Beautiful Amethysts come up often, I'm sure you could do better.

The first one is pretty dark & not well saturated. 2nd looks like it has some color zoning, not the best cut. Greg's right, very nice amethysts are available.

You might also ask Brad Payne of The Gem Trader if he has any in stock -- he usually has a pretty good selection that aren't shown on his site.

As for flash, I'm not sure what I want because I haven't seen any nice ones in person.

you might want to see as many as possible IRL before you make a purchase.

The round is the better of the two but it is still not richly coloured. I would keep looking.
