i''m in danger of channeling my mother here, but... it pulls, which just isn''t flattering, even on someone with a kickin'' body. (my mother wouldn''t say the "kickin'' body" part.)

i second surfgirl''s nicole miller suggestion. i would also try bluefly.com - great stuff, and you can sort by color.

I wore a light gold strapless dress from White House/Black Market (if you are looking for ideas).

What about this Jim Hjelm Occasion? It''s gorgeous in person and comes in a zillion colors.

If you love this dress (and really, other than some minor issues it looks HOT on you!) and you don't want to spend the money on a new one, I think getting one of those mid-thigh to boob Spanx-type body slips would fix the issue with the fit (the pulling and lack of lining) as well as help you with your IMAGINED

pooch. Seriously, it will make it not fit quite so tightly and it will give the dress something to slip against so it won't pull as much. I have a really similar dress, and without the slip it doesn't fit right and looks cheap, and when I through the slip on it looks like a completely different dress.

I didn't notice the pulling or the bunching until others pointed it out, but the slip would really help.

I attached a picture of what I'm talking about, hopefully it works. If not try this link:

While you look absolutely FABULOUS, and I think the dress is absolutely FANTASTIC, I have to say the dress/color is a little too close to a wedding dress...... To be totally honest I had to go back and read the topic of the post. Thought you were showcasing a possible wedding dress.Totally my opinion, but I feel the RD you should almost do the opposite of what you will do the next day at your wedding.... that way you will look more shocking and stunning to all the people (and especially your Fiance!) on your wedding day. i.e. if you''re wearing your hair up on your wedding day, wear it down @ your RD, wear black...etc. Those shoes are fantastic and I can see why you''d want to wear them. It''s hard seeing them in the picture...but wouldn''t they go with a dark colored dress?

The dress is pretty, but it seems the fabric is too thin (I can see the second layer of material at the seams. Love the necklace and the shoes.

This is a gorgeous dress and no worries here about too thin or too tight or whatever.

You have a gorgeous figure and do not have a tummy poch. The dress is just a tiny bit tight in the hip area and is making it all scoot up, hence the wrinkles around your ribs. If you had a seamstress let out an eigth of an inch on several of those seams around the hips you might get enough to let the fabric lay smooth. I can''t imagine how you can sit in this dress either. It''s a beautiful dress.

" I can''t imagine how you can sit in this dress either"

That thought got me thinking about lap wrinkles. You know how everything is perfect and ironed and then you have to sit in the car to get there...and then you look down when you arrive and EEKKKK...what happen to my iron job? Wrinkle city.

I think you main objective is to look really smashing...or as the other poster wrote...KICKIN...and again with that figure you will in anything. But I would try to find a material that will be forgiving as you are going to be sitting and standing and walking and the center of attention...so it is going to be noticeable. More so than normal. Just two more cents...that may hold some value.

HERE are a group of dresses that look like your choice. Not sure if there is retail option near you to try on.

Hi AG! I agree with what has been said about the lack of lining and bunching. You have a kick a$$ body and I think you could find a dress that looks fabulous on you and that you feel comfortable in. From reading your post, it doesn''t seem like you''d feel comfortable and beautiful in that dress and you should. I LOVE the DBTY necklace and shoes though! Good luck finding another dress. You have lots of time.

I''m going to return the dress tomorrow. I''ve still got 6 months and I''m sure once the spring stuff comes out I''ll find something that looks great w/ my shoes.

Stephanie, thanks for the info on WHBM, I''ll keep checking that store.

Hi Surfgirl, I''m sure there is a NM boutique, I''ll check that out. I''m still pretty new to the area.

Thanks Foureyes

You''re right Tacori, I''m going to find something I really am smokin'' in

every once and a while I do check out bluefly, thanks for the reminder

Thanks Misy, I do like that but I think it leans a little too bridesmaidy. I''d love to find something that I absolutly love and want to wear again.

Thanks Largirl, I think that may be a little on the warm side. Our rd is in hawaii. Good thinking though.

Hi Neveah - you think light colors would be bad for an rd? I was thinking I''d keep the wedding theme for both nights but I''m not stuck on it.

You know, I haven''t tried sitting in it. It''s stretchy but I''m not keeping it so I guess it doesnt matter.

Thanks DKS, I do want a more flowy party dress.

Hi Snlee! How are you? I hope we can all do another gtg soon. I agree that I''m not comfortable in it either. At least I''ve got time to find the right one, just like I did w/ my wedding dress.

Thanks again everyone! I''ll be sure to post "the" dress!

No no no...don''t you get a flowy dress!!!! You read that post wrong. The style you chose is perfect for your figure. Just want a better made one. Form fitting for you all the way. Whew. That was a close one!

Hi DKS - I think in the link you posted I saw some more "flowy" type dresses that''s why I mentioned that. I originally had this grecian type dress in my head that I wanted to find. Think all white w/ a little gold/champagen accents but also a little on the flowy side. I do agree that I can pull off something more form fitting but maybe I should go opposite from my wedding dress. It''s a corset top so it will be tight (wedding dress)

I think I may just need to try on a bunch of types once the spring dresses come out and hopefully I''ll find something great then.
