Hello All,

I have found a diamond that could possibly be "the one" and I'd like to get some expert opinions on it before I complete the purchase.

Here are the GIA specs:

Round Brilliant
1.14 ct
Color: I
Clarity: VS2
Cut: Excellent
Polish and Symmetry: Excellent
Table % 55
Total Depth % 61.6
Crown Angle: 34
Pavillion Angle: 40.8
Crown Height % 15
Pavillion Depth % 43
Measurements: 6.72*6.73*4.14

The price is $5,797 and I'd really appreciate any opinions on whether this is a good value. It faces up just beautifully.

Thanks in advance for your help!

OK.....I'm confused???? There is another thread by another person asking about this very same diamond?? Are you and the other thread the same? Are you also Starry? If you are, it's best to ask your question once in one thread, as opposed to starting two different threads about the same stone, under two different names.

Well, that''s news to me.
No, I do not post under "Starry" or any other name. If there is another thread regarding this same diamond, I am not aware of it.

Uh oh.

Check out "How about this diamond" by Starry. Same stone exactly. Look''s like you''ve got competition for the stone. Which by the way is likely very nice.

i thought those specs seemed familiar!

apparently both posters are considering the same virtual diamond.

I just saw the other post regarding this diamond. Wow, what are the odds of that!

Anyway, earlier today I already arranged for this diamond to be sent to Consumer Gem Labs for an appraisal. I''ll share the results of the appraisal when I get them.

I was just hoping to get some opinions on the stone in the meantime.

tigerlilly.......starry.......START YOUR ENGINES!

Wow, how ironic! You have great taste!

Just out of curiosity, where did you find the stone? I didn''t see it listed many places.

Thank you!
I didn''t actually find it listed online. Isaac of dimend SCAASI in Chicago recommended this stone after another one of his didn''t work out for me.

That''s what I thought, I found it there too. Are you from Chicago? Have you been to the store? I want to make a visit and check it out. How has your experience been with them?

Starry,

No, I''m not from Chicago, but I have made the trip to see Isaac from out of state because I am set on getting this ring from dimend SCAASI

So far my experience with Isaac and all the staff at dimend SCAASI has been just fabulous. Isaac takes a personal interest in ensuring that you get exactly what you want, nothing less. I highly recommend him!

tigerlilly,

That is great! And the setting is awesome! I''ve only chatted briefly and done an online viewing with them so far but they have been excellent.

I''ll look forward to hearing more from you!

best of luck to you both! i''m sure you will each find exactly what you are looking for.

By the way, what metal will you use for the setting? If platinum, do you know what mixture Isaac uses for platinum? Do you have any concern about "I" color in platinum?

I am planning to set it in platinum and am not too concerned about the I color.
In my opinioin, this particular stone faces up very white...probably because of the excellent cut.
